Summer Forces

Lucius stepped through the floo into his study. He had just had a meeting with the minister and couldn’t believe what was happening. All single purebloods were to be forced into marriage with a muggleborn or be banished from the wizarding community.

Sure Lucius changed sides at the last moment, but he still couldn’t stand mudbloods and now, he was being forced to be bound to one forever. Narcissa had died two years ago during the final battle, and Lucius was not done being a bachelor. It was not unknown that he continuously had different witches in his bed, and one thing Lucius was scared about was not having his needs met.

Lucius strode over to his cabinet and poured himself a healthy amount of Ogden’s into his flask. Sitting in his oversized chair, he scanned over the papers given to him. All purebloods and muggleborns had to take a test so they could be matched to the most appropriate person for the most effective outcome. According the ministry, this was for “recreating the wizarding world with less discrimination”. During the war, thousands of lives were taken and throughout the centuries, interfamily breeding drastically decreased the powers of pureblood children. After looking over the paperwork, Lucius couldn’t believe what the ministry wanted.

For the first year, every week sexual intercourse was to take place between the couple, for each encounter both spouses have to be there but outsiders may join in if allowed, the same bed must be shared every night, and at least one meal must be taken together a day. Also, at least one child must be born within the first two years unless ministry approved. The one thing Lucius hoped for was not to have a silly chit who doesn’t have a mind of her own. He had already had a relationship like that with Narcissa.

Grabbing a piece of parchment, Lucius wrote a letter to the ministry to schedule a time for him to take the test.

“What am I supposed to do?” Hermione asked, setting down the Daily Profit. “I don’t want to be married to a spoiled pureblood! The only purebloods I can stand are either married or female. Well besides you guys,” Hermione sighed while motioning to Fred and George. The twins were the only Weasley’s currently available. Bill was married, Charlie had disappeared during the war, Percy was married, and Ron and Ginny were both engaged.

“Oh Mione, who knows, you may be paired with a nice wizard who we just don’t know,” Ginny said as she gave Hermione a hug.

“Or she might end up with a wanker like Draco Malfoy!” George teased with a sly grin on his face. “OW!” He cried as Molly swatted him across the head.

“It will be alright Hermione. Maybe being a war hero and brains of the ‘Golden Trio’ will help get you out of this,” Harry tried as he placed his hands over hers.

‘I don’t know Harry, but we can try. I guess I will try to meet with Kingsley later today. He probably has a million people to answer to today though after this being published,” Hermione said with a sigh. Getting up she brought her dishes over to the sink before heading up to her room. She had a lot to think about and she could feel a headache on the way. This was going to be a long day.
