Draco sat nervously beside Harry in Muggle Studies. They had turned their assignments in on Monday. Now it was Friday and they're supposed be getting their grades on their essays. In just a few moments, Draco would know if all the time he'd spent talking to Mudbloods, halfbreeds, and muggle-lovers, not to mention reading, had paid off. It will all have been worth it
if he'll get the chance to humiliate Potter!
A few minutes later, Professor Waterfall, a short woman with long blonde hair and blue eyes, glided into the room wearing jeans and a tee-shirt. "Hello, class. In case you're wondering about my outfit, in muggle high schools, the teachers dress informally on Fridays. It's called "casual Friday" and I've gotten permission from the Headmaster to implement it here. All of your professors will be dressing informally on Fridays starting next week."
The class nodded, some of the students murmuring to each other about what the teachers will be wearing the next Friday, and Draco drawled softly to Harry. "Prepared to be humiliated, Potter?"
"We don't even have our grades back yet, or have you not noticed, ferret face?" Harry laughed and Draco seethed silently.
"Now," Professor Waterfall announced. "I was so moved by one of your essays that I want to read part of it aloud. It is an amazing grasp of the concepts I am striving to teach you all."
She fetched the scroll from her desk and then said to the class. "Now, this assignment was particularly difficult for those of you who have never had any contact with muggles. It took a lot of research to be able to write a successful essay on how muggle technology can better the Wizarding World. I am pleased at the results."
She opened the scroll and began to read an excerpt from it. "Furthermore, while all of these things would be additional comforts for wizards, there is one muggle advancement that would be of great use to us. Magical healing is very advanced, but there are still things I cannot cure. Lycanthropy, for one thing. I believe that things such as the microscope as well as some of the chemicals muggles have created could assist us with this. It would obviously take much trial and error, but I believe that within a reasonably short period of time, we would be able to successfully mix these chemicals with our magical potion ingredients and possibly fins a cure to Lycanthropy and who knows what else."
She lookrf up with tears in her eyes. "The rest of the essay was dedicated to the benefits of muggle drugs and was very moving. I have never before seen such an insightful essay from a seventh year student." She smiled and closed the scroll. "Most professors aren't even that...aware of things."
Harry was grinning widely. No way in hell had that been Malfoy's essay. He glanced at the blonde to see that he looked bored and relaxed. 'Nope, if the arrogant prick isn't gloating,' Harry thought gleefully. 'It definitely wasn't his.'
Harry's jaw dropped when Professor Waterfall placed the scroll in front of Draco and said. "Mr. Malfoy, that was truly an amazing essay. You should be very pleased with your grade since it's the top mark."
"Yes, Professor Waterfall." Draco smirked. "You have no idea just how pleased I am. You have no idea."
Draco turned to Harry once their teacher had left and said softly. "So, Potter, are you prepared to be humiliated?"
Harry nodded tersely. "Let me guess, Malfoy. You want me to lose to you in the Slytherin-Gryffindor Quidditch match, right?" The brunette's hands clenched into fists at the thought.
"That's a tempting idea, Potter." Draco purred softly. "A very, very, very tempting idea. I thought about it for a while. I also toyed with the idea of making you walk into the Halloween feast next week starkers."
Harry paled considerably, but noticed that Draco had said he had only toyed with the idea, not settled on it, so he asked. "Well, do you know what you want me to do, then?" When the blonde nodded slowly, he continued. "What?"
Draco merely chuckled darkly, grinning devilishly. "You'll see, Potter." He smirked at Harry. "You'll see."
A/N: Yes, a cliffie. I know, I'm so mean, lol. But I wanted to give people a fair chance at the challenge. Only one part remains a mystery, but that's okay. It's the only truly guessable part anyway. The thing you need to guess in order to either ask a question about the plot, or to request a scene is "What will Draco make Harry do?" Now, this will eventually get Harry and Snape together, it will also get Harry into trouble, and it is indeed the most embarrassing thing I can think of. Any takers? Please at least try to guess! Please rate and review. - FallenAngel
