I do not own Harry Potter or any of the characters therein. Nor do I make any moneys from the writing of this story. Though Lord knows I wish I did.
Chapter Two
So here is the next chapter. I was very saddened when I only received one review for the first chapter. Oh well. But if you could please take the time and drop a line as to whether or not you like the story so far, it would be of great service to yours truly. Thanks.
PLEASE READ AND REVIEW!!!

Chapter Two
Hermione felt honestly gobsmacked. Closing her jaw before a fly decided to make home in her mouth, she tried as she might to think of a response that wouldn’t insult him. Or at the very least didn’t sound half as idiotic as it did to herself. What in the name of Merlin was he thinking? Was he thinking at all?
“Brilliant,” he said sounding very proud of himself. “No need to thank me yet.”
“Or at all,” she muttered, taking up her drink. “No.”
“What?”
“I said no,” she told him clearly this time. “I don’t want, nor do I need a matchmaker. If I needed a way to escape from Azkaban, you would be the first person I would go to. But not for finding me a-a wizard.”
“And why not?” he demanded.
“Sirius, when was the last time you were in a committed, monogamous relationship?”
His face went a little red as he replied, “So perhaps I’m not in a…”
“And never have been,” she cut in.
“And never have been in a serious relationship, but I do know who to pick for you,” he snapped.
“Sirius, I know you mean well,” she sighed. “But please, for the sake of my sanity, don’t play matchmaker for me.”
“Very well, but you do realize that Ginny won’t stop until you’re well and truly matched, right?”
Groaning she downed the rest of her glass of fiery liquid and poured more for herself. “Why can’t she be content with the fact that I am happy the way my life is?”
“Because as long as you’re single Ginny, no matter how much she likes you as a friend, she’ll see you as a threat to her relationship to Harry.”
Frowning she muttered, “Are you sure? I in no way see Harry in that fashion.” She made a face, adding, “It would be like trying to kiss my brother.” Hermione paused. “Or you.”
Throwing his arm around her shoulders laughing, he stated, “And here you called me sloppy seconds.”
Rolling her eyes, Hermione stated, “I am sick of that empty headed tartlet shacking up with every bloke I’ve looked at twice. As it is, I do believe that she’ll end up having to move to the Americas as she would have slept with all of the heterosexual males in the UK and the rest of the European Union by the time she’s 30.”
“What about Australia?” he inquired jovially.
“What about it? There’s only so much of her to go around and so little time. With any luck Ron would have pulled his head out of his ass by that point and will have married the nitwit.” This had the older wizard letting out a crack of laughter that had many of the others there looking over to the two.
“Ah love, you and that wicked wit,” he sighed, kissing her temple. “You’re lonely, love.” She looked into his gray eyes. “I’ve seen it. So have the others. Let us help you find the right man for you, will you?”

Remus watched from the shadows and nearly growled when the other man draped his arm over her shoulder. He did actually growl when that womanizing bastard kissed her. But then the spying man realized that Sirius hadn’t done so out of the want of seducing her, but out of the need to comfort.
Following them back over to the house that they were currently sharing with Harry and his fiancée Ginny, he made sure he wasn't spotted following them. Letting himself in, he walked over to the stairway half expecting Sirius and Hermione to be making their way over to the suave wizard’s bed—Merlin knows that was what Remus wanted to take the witch to his own bed.
“Remus,” Hermione called from the living room area. “How did your visit with Tonks and Teddy go?”
“Well,” he said, trying as he might to concentrate on what she was saying rather than the pheromones she was putting out that nearly had him crawling out of his own skin to get to her. “I better get to bed…” He was on the stairway when she called out to him again.
“Do you want company tonight?” she asked quietly. “I get the feeling you need to speak to someone.”
Shaking he stood there, feeling the sweat beading on his already quickening body under his worn clothing. “You better not. The second full moon of the month is coming up this next week. A blue…”
“Blue moon,” she murmured. “Powerful things blue moons, both in the magical world as well as the muggle.” He looked over to her. “But it’s nothing you don’t already know about, I’m sure.” Hermione walked up the stairs, passing him as she breathed, “Goodnight, Remus. Sleep well.”
But just as she was about to pass completely out of reach, he grabbed her arm and yanked her back to himself.
“The visit was hellish,” he muttered. “I kept thinking about you with that man. That stranger touching…” He let out a growl even as he pulled her tighter to himself.
“Let’s go talk,” she suggested. “You can tell me about what happened this time with Tonks and I’ll tell you about the total disaster that was my so called date.”
Lifting his head he looked puzzled as he asked, “How did you know something happened with Tonks?”
“Because, wolf, something always happens with her,” she muttered, pulling him up the stairs by his hand. “Say what you will about the Black family, but they do love to overdramatize things to the fullest.”
Smiling he answered, “That they do, pet.”
“Spill,” she ordered him gently as soon as they were in the room with the door firmly shut and warded.
He let out a heart felt sigh, telling her, “She told me she’s getting married.”
Hermione sat down, looking over to him as she was taking off her shoes. “Really?” Hermione massaged her right foot and was about to do the same with her other one when Remus went over taking her foot into his hands. She let a long sigh out as his fingers began to work their magic. “What happened after the announcement?”
“She introduced me to her fiancée.” He stopped what he was doing and looked up into her amber eyes. “It was Kingsley Shacklebolt.”
“Do you care?” Hermione asked quietly.
“No, I just wish that the breakup had been smoother,” he muttered. “Telling her that she wasn’t my true mate after we had already had a child was harsh. I could have been clearer and told her in a way that wouldn’t have hurt her so.”
“I know what you mean,” she told him. “Ron and I didn’t exactly break up well either.”
“You never did tell me why you broke it off with him,” he said, trying to sound casual.
“I had an epiphany,” she explained to him as she stood up and pulled him to his feet. Sitting him down in the chair she had been in, she slipped into his lap. Resting her head on his shoulder, she went on, “I knew that he wasn’t the one for me. It’s overly romantic I know, but I just can’t explain it any other way. Ron hadn’t a clue what I was speaking of. That only made things worse as he became belligerent.” She combed her fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck as she pressed her forehead against his jaw. “Needless to say, Ron has yet to speak to me again, even though it’s clear that he’s moved on.”

I love epiphanies in writing. They can reveal so much about the inner workings of the character without going into massive descriptives if there isn't a need for one. If you don't agree with me, well, you'll just have to write a review to let me know what you think on the subject. Is this my move to get you to review? Heck yes! Only one review for the first chapter? Something tells me that I would start up debates about politics, religion, and any other hot topic out there if it meant getting more reviews. Desperation isn't pretty, but then neither is a flagging review base. So if you could, PLEASE REVIEW!!! Thank you and have a fantastic day!
