Phoenix raced through the halls after her brother, with Potter right behind her. She knew he was there, but there was nothing she could do about it. Draco stopped at the closest loo and slammed inside, quickly pulling his vest off and splashing what had to be cold water on his face. Phoenix was next to him in a second, smoothing back his hair and muttering comforts in his ear.
“We know you had to, Dray, come on, calm down it wasn’t your fault.” She looked into the eyes that were so much like hers, saw the pain there and bit her lip. It was hard to see Draco like this. The brother she loved so much nearly destroyed by that stupid mark on his arm. Phoenix swore to herself that she would see Voldemort dead if it was (and it probably would be) the last thing she did.
Draco squeezed her tightly in a hug, burying his ghostly pale face into her robe-clad shoulder and poured his soul out by way of tears.
Phoenix looked over Draco’s shoulder and saw Potter staring at them in shock. She mouthed one word, just one word to him, and he understood. ‘Go’
