Reviewers, I am blushing. I'm glad you all liked it. I am going to be away for Christmas for the next week, to a small town that only has dial-up access to the internet. So no updates, but I will be writing. Never you worry. I will have an update ready for when I return.

Chapter II
~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~-~-~*~
Hermione stalked into her room which was just off the common room now, as she had to be more accessible as Headgirl. She collapsed on the bed and sighed.
She rolled on her back. Why her? Sure, she was Headgirl, but she detested Malfoys. Smarmy, self-serving, greedy, manipulative…she stopped her train of invective, and rose from her bed.
No use crying of spilt pumpkin juice. She was made responsible for…Adonis Malfoy. If he crossed her wrongly, his demise might mimic the favorite of Aphrodite. Granted, she thought Elpenor's demise might be a bit more suiting considering their venue in Gryffindor Tower. Sure, on the outside, an Adonis, but inside he was a disgusting little cockroach. She might as well hurry up and finish with him quickly. She went into her private bathroom shedding her uniform and turning on a shower before putting her clothes in the hamper.

Lucius sat in the common room corner watching the little red and gold tie-wearing students chatter and look at him nervously. He glared at a first year approaching him, sending the little boy skittering away. He smirked.
He looked toward the door that the pretty Headgirl had slammed. He stuck out his lower lip.
What did she have against Malfoys anyway? What had Malfoys done to Miss Granger? He sighed and pondered leaning forward in red chair. He paid no attention to the students staring at him. Several girls giggled as they walked by and he flipped his blond hair and gave them a cocky smile making them squeal and blush before they darted out the entrance to the common room.
He straightened as the idea hit him. That was it! His son must have slighted her, and she must think Malfoys handsome. Who could blame her? But if his son had insulted her, and she was a Gryffindor…well, he wouldn’t repeat the mistake.
With a surname like Granger, she must be a Dagworth-Granger. She was well worth catching. Much better than the scrawny, breastless witch with whom his parents had been setting him up, Miss Narcissa Black. He sniffed at the thought.
He would pursue Miss Granger. After all, his marriage was not yet contracted. He still had options. And maybe he could take her back in time with him, or maybe Snape wouldn’t be able to discover how to send him back. Though, the greasy man hadn’t seemed too shocked by his appearance, so maybe he knew more than he was letting on.
He looked down as his stomach rumbled. He placed a hand on it. He stood up and walked toward the exit, noticing for the first that the common room was nearly empty. He stopped at the door, a sly thought creeping into his head.
Lucius turned and walked to the door to Miss Granger’s room. He knocked lightly.
“Come in,” Hermione called, running a brush through her still slightly damp hair as she sat before a fire.
Lucius blushed a little as he opened the door. She was brazen, bold, daring to invite a male into her sanctum. He stepped just over the threshold.
Hermione hid her disgust, “What do you want, Malfoy?”
“You may call me,” Lucius said, catching her eye and winking, “Adonis.”
“I will call you Malfoy,” Hermione said, finishing her hair. “Now, what did you want?”
“Se—Headmaster Snape requested that you show me around,” he said, making his eyes as big and innocent as he could.
Hermione stood and sighed looking him over.
“Is there anywhere in particular you want to go?” Hermione asked, grabbing her bag and slinging it over her shoulder.
“It is supper time,” he said, blinking prettily at her.
“Goes to figure. All you boys think about are your stomachs,” she said, stalking out of the room, and staring at him.
Lucius quickly followed.
Hermione shut the door and did several intricate wand movements to ward it.
Lucius’ eyebrows rose as he hopped out of the opening first and offered a hand to Hermione to help her down, “Uric the Oddball’s ward? What are you hiding in there? The Elder Wand?”
“None of your business,” Hermione said, hopping down without help. “To the Great Hall, then?”
“Only if that is where you would like to go first,” Lucius said deferingly. “I can go wherever you need to go. I don’t mind.”
“Well, I am going to take you and drop you off,” Hermione said. “I don’t need you following me.”
“But I will have to follow you to classes. The Headmaster…”
“I know what he said. I have ears, and I use them,” Hermione snapped.
“So you want to spend more time with me, by taking me and leaving me in the Great Hall? As otherwise I might be able to learn more quickly by following you around.”
“I’m dropping you off,” she said, leading Lucius down the twisting third floor corridor through the castle and down a spiral staircase that was due to change where it went in the next hour or so. “Because I don’t like Malfoys.”
“You don’t even know me. I thought Gryffindors were trusting.”
“You’re thinking of Hufflepuffs,” Hermione said. “I’m not falling for your tricks.”
“You will come back for me, won’t you?” Lucius asked, letting his lip tremble a little.
“Can’t you follow another Gryffindor back? Besides weren’t you paying attention?” Hermione asked, as they stopped outside the doors to the Great Hall.
“Have I offended you in some way?” Lucius asked, “You have been completely antagonistic to me. I hope I don’t have bad breath or something.”
Hermione winced a little, “Your breath is fine. I just…I have to go. I have some things to do.”
She raced off up the staircase and looked back at him once regretting it instantly as she felt her foot sink into the vanishing stair. Her wand fell from her robe’s sleeve and fell down the stairs. She yelped, and tugged at her leg.
Lucius stared up at her as her leg sunk farther into the stair and she tugged harder. He quickly walked to her picking up her wand as he went.
“May I help you?” he asked, looking down at her.
Hermione glared at him, “No tricks?”
“I could leave you stuck in this stair,” he offered, turning to walk back to the Great Hall.
“No, please,” Hermione said, reaching out and grabbing the hem of his robes.
“Well, what do I get out of it?” Lucius asked turning with a sly smirk.
“The joy of doing something nice for your fellow human being.”
“That’s lame,” Lucius said, looking down at her as she clenched the edge of his robes. “I want you to call me Adonis.”
“Get me out, Malfoy,” Hermione said, tugging him a little.
Lucius quickly moved so he couldn’t be pulled onto the same stair, “Call me Adonis.”
“Fine, Adonis, please get me out,” Hermione said, looking at her watch with slight panic.
Lucius whispered a spell and Hermione levitated out of the stair and landed above it.
“See you can be nice to me,” Lucius said, handing her back her vinewood wand. “You dropped this, Miss Granger.”
“Thank you,” Hermione said, taking the wand and putting it in her pocket. “I’ll come back to get you to Gryffindor Tower, if you want.”
“I would be very much obliged,” Lucius said, bowing to her again. He watched her walk up the steps with her curls bouncing a little.
Hermione looked back at him again, and Lucius smiled before turning to go to the Great Hall.
