How could this Happen?

I sat at the kitchen table watching Lily’s prone form on the floor. “great just great Lily I was counting on you to help me. Passing out DOESN”T HELP!
I yelled causing her to stir. She looked at me and then looked at where she was. “Oh bugger it wasn’t a dream wasn’t it?” she asked. I shook my head. “No.” I answered. “Oh boy. What are you going to do?” She asked sitting back in her chair. “I don’t know, I mean he still see’s me as Harry’s best friend. He’ll never see me as anything more then that.” I Said looking away. “Hermione, your gorgeous and could have any guy why did you fall for Sirius?” She asked. I shrugged, “I don’t know I mean it wasn’t intentional. I mean I didn’t even realize it was happening until it was too late I wouldn’t have realized It if he hadn’t kissed me.” I said angrily before covering me mouth. Lily’s eyes widened. “He kissed you?” Lily asked. I nodded, “We were alone in the house and he was drinking I walked into the kitchen and he offered me a shot of fire whiskey. I took it and we started taking shots together. I stood up to leave and he followed I had gone into the library Sirius followed with the fire whiskey. I sat down on the couch and he handed me another shot. We finished the bottle I wasn’t as drunk as I should have been I think it was because I wasn’t doing them as fast as he was. I told him I was going to bed. He kissed me. We got heated before I pulled away. I said his name and he looked at me. Then he said ‘night love.’ and walked out of the room like nothing happened.” I said softly.

Lily looked at me shocked. “I’ll kill him myself, he can’t do that.” I looked at her. “Mione he wasn’t drunk! He was trying to see how you felt. He will not get away with this. Hermione you’ll get him trust me don’t worry about it.” Lily said. I rolled my eyes and left a little while later. I flooed back home and saw Kreacher rummaging around the room. “Hello kreacher.” I said softly. He looked at me before bowing. “I’ve told you not to bow, please don’t bow.” I asked again he looked at me confused. “Why is miss so nice to kreacher?” he asked. “Kreacher you don’t deserve to be treated bad. So why would I?” I asked. He shrugged and walked away. I walked into the kitchen and put a tea kettle on. I took a seat at the table and looked at the worn wood. I didn’t hear the quite footsteps approaching. “Afternoon Mione.” Remus asked sitting down. “Remus I thought you were going to the leaky cauldron. “I did but I remembered I’m opening up flourish and blott’s tomorrow so I can’t have a hangover like they are all going to have.” He said making me laugh. “Hermione are you ok?” he asked suddenly. “Remus I’ m fine why?” I asked. “Sirius said you’ve been acting strange.” He said softly. “Sirius is exaggerating I have my off days like everyone.” I said dismissively. Remus nodded letting the subject drop.

I walked into the library and sat down on the couch waving my wand the fire roared to life the warmth seeping into the room. No matter what time of year this room is always cold. I thought to myself. I picked up the book I had left on the floor and opened back up to where I had left my book mark. It was no use I couldn’t get what Lily had said out of my head. He had tried to see how I felt. Why didn’t he just say anything? Why did he have to kiss me? Now I couldn’t get the damn kiss out of my head! I threw my book at the wall. “Careful.” Came Remus’s voice said making me fall off the couch. I looked up. “Haven’t you ever heard of knocking?” I snapped annoyed. He looked at me surprised. “What is bothering you Hermione. I have never seen you even bad mouth a book, let alone throw one at the wall.” Remus said sitting down on the couch. I shot him a look.

I sat there quietly for a few minutes before sighing and talking to Remus giving him a hypothetical situation. He scowled after I was done. “Damn dog.” He growled. I looked at him. “I can’t believe Sirius. I knew we should have had him neutered.” “Remus!” I yelped surprised. “I should have known there was something going on between you two.” I looked at him. “Remus there is nothing going on.” I said. “That’s the problem.” I muttered. Remus looked at me. “Let me guess you were both Drinking, he kissed you and then went upstairs like nothing happened?” He asked. “DOES EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT THAT TRICK BUT ME?” I yelled. Remus shrugged, “He’s trying to feel you out. If you ran away screaming he would know you weren’t interested if you kissed him back like I’m guessing you did…He know’s there’s a chance.” Remus explained. “What doe’s he think I’ll be a one night stand?” I asked angrily. “Well Sirius isn’t known for his long term relationships.” Remus said softly. I growled. “I need some air.” I said standing up and walking into the back yard. I pulled my pack of cigarettes out of my back pocket and lit one up. I blew the smoke out and took a shaky breath. “Damn you Sirius Black.” I muttered.

I took another drag off my Cigarette, a sharp wind blew making me look around the back yard. It was still empty. I was stuck. My parents had moved to Australia, Harry and Ginny were living together and there was no way I was staying there again especially after the last time. The sounds of Ginny’s moans still disturbed me. I had no where else to go and Mrs. Weasley still wasn’t talking to me since I broke up with Ron. She failed to acknowledge that he was cheating on me. Sirius though had known, he had been the one to pull me aside. He had started acting colder towards Ron a couple months before the breakup. It was after one night that he had canceled a date that Sirius pulled me aside and talked to me. Something he had said didn’t make sense so I had apparated over to the flat he was living in. I found him and Lavender in bed together. I cleared my throat causing Ron to jump and for Lavender to smile before riding out her Orgasm with Ron who was unable to stop his. “And you asked me to move in with you.” I had said before apparating out. Sirius had been the one to console me. The one to kick Ron out of the house after he appeared and we got into an argument. That night I had gone out to the leaky cauldron gotten drunk and had intended to find someone to shag, before Sirius came and carried me back home.

I had woken up the next morning with a hangover and my head on Sirius’s lap. He had fallen asleep sometime before. Sirius had never shown any interest in me before that night. I mean he was a flirt and had been since getting his life back. He had been shagging anyone he could find mostly, and frequently forgot to cast silencing charms. I took another drag before someone put a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see Sirius standing there. “Tough day Mione?” He asked. “You could say that.” I said easily. “You only smoke when your stressed or when you’ve been drinking.” He said knowingly. I scowled at him annoyed. “What’s wrong Mione you’ve been acting strange lately.” he said. I decided to screw with his mind. “No just debating who I should go out with tonight.” I said. I watched his jaw clench. “Options?” he asked. I nodded, “Two different guys asked me out both dashingly good looking and intelligent.” He nodded, “If you can’t decide maybe you shouldn’t go out with either.” He said. I shrugged, “Well I haven’t been out for awhile and I could use some fun.” I said softly.

“Why don’t you come out with us tonight?” he asked making me raise an eyebrow. “Lily and Ginny are coming.” He said. “I don’t want to be the fifth wheel.” I said. “you wont. I will. You can be my date.” He said. “Sirius Black doesn’t do dates.” I said making him laugh. “You and I know that but it’s better then staying home. I don’t care if you leave with me as long as you come with me.” He said. There was something hiding beneath his words that I couldn’t be sure of.

I nodded in agreement. He winked at me before going back inside. I groaned when he was gone and hit my head. I summoned a quill and some parchment I wrote a quick note to Lily before calling my owl Seraphia. She flew around before landing on the ground. I handed her the note and told her where to go. I watched her fly off before going back inside. Lily appeared a few minutes later. I told her what happened and she whisked me upstairs determined to find an outfit that would make it so Sirius couldn’t take his eyes off me. Even though I kept telling her it wasn’t a date.
