Chapter Two

“Miss Granger, did you see where the tickets are?” Severus asked hoarsely.

She pulled them out of her inside jacket pocket, handing them to the conductor. The man stamped them and handed them back over to her. Hermione pocketed the tickets again. She turned to him and found him scowling.

“Do you have all the tickets in that pocket of yours, Miss Granger? I cannot begin to tell you how unwise that is,” he lectured her, his voice never breaking a whisper.

“Everything will be fine,” she assured him. “I’m not saying perfect, but I have thought of nearly every eventuality.”

“It’s the nearly that has me worried, Miss Granger,” he muttered.

This only had her chuckling to herself, as she opened the book she was reading again. “Do you want me to begin where I left off or do you want to take a nap?”

“What is it with this need of yours to make me sleep?”

“Because if you don’t sleep, you’re sour and mean tempered as a harpy,” she told him. “Besides, you didn’t sleep well last night.”

He glared at her, but ended up letting out a sigh and relaxed against the seat and let his eyes close. “Read to me until I fall asleep.”

She began to read when the door opened and she found herself looking at Draco Malfoy. He blinked at her startled. Hermione patted Professor Snape’s shoulder. His eyes popped open.

“You have a visitor,” she said, nodding towards Draco. “Do you wish to have some privacy?”

He looked over to Draco and murmured, “Get us some tea and cakes if you could?”

“Of course,” she said, getting up. “Do you have any preferences?”

“Oolong,” Severus whispered. “Make certain that it isn’t too hot, please.”

“Draco, is there anything I can get for you?”

His eyes narrowed and he was going to say something crass, but a cool voice cut off his chance to say anything. “Draco, did I not teach you manners at all?”

Hermione looked over to Lucius Malfoy and wanted to get away from him more than anything. But instead she roped it down, trying as she might to be able to conduct herself in a professional manor.

“Is there anything either of you care for me to get for you?” she asked, looking from one to the other.

Draco clenched his jaw. “Nothing for me, thank you.”

“I would like an oolong as well if it is not too much trouble,” Lucius murmured.

She nodded and left to go see to getting the tea as well as the cakes. Hermione got two large thermoses full of oolong and a large selection of small sandwiches as well as cakes and cookies.

Arriving back, she set up a table in the small area. Magically she gave everyone there, including Draco a cup of tea. She set out the sandwiches as well as the desserts. She sat down, taking up her own tea and sipped on it. She ignored what was being said for the most part. Staring out the window, she saw as the countryside past by.

“Granger, why don’t you find where the house elves are on this train and stay with them?” Draco told her, but she didn’t respond at all. Frowning he took a breath to say something else when Severus cut him off.

“She cannot hear you, Mr. Malfoy,” Severus told him. “Miss Granger?” His hand went to her shoulder, calling her attention. “Draco was speaking to you.”

“Oh I'm sorry,” she murmured, turning towards him. “I attained nerve damage to my ears when your aunt tortured me.” She looked at him. “For the most unfortunately all I hear is noise once the train gets moving. Thankfully I picked up on lip reading rather quickly. So what did you say?”

Draco lost his coloring at that moment. He had forgotten what she had been through. The fact that she had lived through it testified as to Hermione’s strength.

“It wasn’t important,” he mumbled.

She sipped on the tea, looking over towards Professor Snape who rolled his eyes. This told Hermione all she needed to know about what Draco must have said. She looked over to Lucius Malfoy. He was watching her intently.

“Luck seems to have been with you, Mr. Malfoy. You didn’t have to do probation,” she murmured.

“Yes,” he said quietly. “I was very lucky indeed.”

Having had enough of the company to be had in the cabin, she set the tea down. Hermione left them without even a so much as a by your leave. She went straight over to the lounge and found a seat on the right side of the train. The countryside was passing by, fields of various crops and different animals standing about.

She was trying as she might to think of anything but the men that were currently talking in the cabin she had just fled from.

A hand slipped over her shoulder, making her look up startled as Lucius Malfoy went over and sat across from her. “Miss Granger.”

“Mr. Malfoy,” she murmured, leaning back and watching him. “I would have thought you would be chatting with Professor Snape.”

“Draco wished to speak to his godfather in private,” he told her. “And I needed to speak to you alone as well. So it all worked out for the best it would seem.” He cleared his throat. “I-I just wanted to say that I learned from what you did.”

Her brows arched, but she said nothing.

“I apologize for the way I treated you,” he murmured. “I-I do not even have the words to tell you just how wrong I was.”

“A tiger isn’t known for its ability to change its stripes,” she said coolly. “I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, which is more than others would give you.”

He nodded.

“But never mistake for a single heartbeat that by giving you a chance this is a weakness to be taken advantage of,” she told him. Her voice was hard as she told him so. “Because what I did to you in that courtroom will be nothing compared to what I will do to you if you try anything.”

He nodded. “I figured as much.” Lucius smiled. “I do believe you were put into the wrong house when in school.”

Hermione snorted at that. “You know what they say, Mr. Malfoy. To catch a snake, you must be a snake.”

He swallowed thickly and asked, “Who…Whose memories did I live through?”

She watched him for a moment. Hermione thought of telling him everything, letting him know who was tortured. The fact of it was that she only gave the man a fraction of the memories of those events. But to whose benefit would it be to tell him the truth? Did he really need to know that it had been his own son that had suffered so?

“Why do you need to know?”

“So I may talk to them and ask them how they survived.”

Hermione saw Draco entering the car looking like he had been crying. She stood up and looked over to Lucius. She walked away without answering the question, only nodding towards Draco who did the same in turn.

She arrived to find Severus in tears. Sighing she pulled out a hanky and handed it to him without a word. He took it, quietly mopping at his eyes. They stayed like that in silence for a time. This wasn’t the first time that she had found him crying and she doubted it would be the last. The war had done this to him, she thought, just as it had done its damage to her and the others. There were days she wanted to scream because of it and others that she couldn’t stop to breathe she was sobbing so hard.

Hermione felt his hand on hers and turned to look at him. His larger fingers laced through hers and he began rubbing his thumb over her hand all the while staring out the large window. She was lulled by the motion of the train and soon found herself leaning into her former professor of potions.

He turned to her, lifting her face and sneered at her, “I wonder what your friends would think to find you snuggling up to the greasy git of a potions master?”

Hermione smiled at his cross features and whispered, “I wonder what they would think of the know it all sucking on the enormous cock of said potions master?”

He shuttered.

“Or can you picture us being caught in mid-fuck?” she asked him in a purr as she slid into his lap. “There we would be partially clothed because we would have been too lust filled to bother with more. Would I be on the top or the bottom?”

“Top,” he breathed. “It’s easier that way on a train.”

“So true,” she sighed. “We would have been going at it for some time first so your mouth and fingers would be glossy with my cum. And my mouth would have that fresh jizz flavor in it.” Hermione kissed his mouth lightly. “Mmm, I can almost taste it, can’t you?”

“Tease,” he muttered.

“Ahh, Severus, you know I always come through,” she murmured, nuzzling his neck. “But you’re correct in the fact that I am teasing you too much if anything. What with the Malfoys being on the train too there is no telling when they will come visit. For that I am sorry. I so wanted to…” He pressed a finger to her lips.

“I know, little cat,” he murmured. “But in the mean time you can read to me.” He set her aside on the couch.

She picked up the book and went about reading to Snape as he closed his eyes. With neither one of them knowing that Lucius was just outside of the door or that he had seen the entire exchange with his hard cock in his hand.
