New Family But Same Old Life

And so the three adults worked with Naruto, the baby, and his upbringing.

The first years were hard for them, taking on missions and a crying screaming bundle of joy. Having to change dippers constantly and staying up in wee hours of the night, tending to his every whims.

Then came the relationships that just made things more confusing.

It turned out that Nina Hyuuga and Gai fell in love not with each other, which surprised almost everyone at the village (not).

They thought that Kakashi and Nina would get married but they were more like brother and sister in a odd way. Always fighting and arguing. Nina was the only other person besides the Fourth that would make Kakashi go ballistic.

And that was saying something on account that the man was always, calm, cool, and collected just about everything.

It started when the four of them including the baby had rented out a big apartment.

Nina was of course the one who would take care of the baby most of the time, while Gai and Kakashi did the missions for money.

Well she got fed up with that one day and demanded a break.

It was a sunny afternoon and all was quiet with the baby crying and Nina pulling out her hair.

‘I swear when they get back, I’m stopping this’. She thought carrying the now semi quiet baby. Feeling drool slide down her now wet shirt.

Just then the front door opened to the small apartment. Letting in the laughter of two people and there heavy feet padding along the carpet.

It was a pretty nice apartment and a decent neighborhood, but with four people it got a little cramped sometimes. They had three bedrooms a small kitchen with about eight windows in all. And only two bathrooms. The color scheme was a dark forest green and tinted blue. Hardly any furniture, just a couch and a small sofa. They needed the extra room movement.

The furniture could have been better but what would you expect from Kakashi? The socially inert.

“Nina how are you?"

"And the youth of tomorrow.” Gai said happily like always.

While in the background Kakashi stood there shaking his hand. Thumbing through their mail and not paying a witt about the conversation.

Nina smiled sweetly to them getting up.

“I’m fine and now you get to take care of Naruto.” She said with gleaming eyes.

They literally, being the good friends that Kakashi and Gai were, said yes imminently.

Not wanting the wreath of the devil... I mean Nina.

They both corrected mentally.

Nina had left and when she came back it turned out that she had met a guy from another country and soon married. It all happened so fast, she was gone only two weeks.

The man was about medium height with brown unruly hair and brown bright eyes.

His name was Kyo and he happened to be one of the best swordsmen out there. Not to mention he had a rich family.

Kakashi had reluctantly said yes they could still live here but now with five people, it got even more crowded with no privacy.

The only reason why Nina still wanted to stay at the apartment was because of Naruto.

She really loved him and did not want to leave the little dear in incompetent hands.

They had to go out for more missions, now that they were feeding so many, which Gai of course had no complaints. He could go out there in the neighboring countries and kill or main the enemies all day.

One year later and Naruto was growing like a weed so they had to buy clothes for him almost constantly.

Kakashi would buy beginner books for ninjas.

Nina would buy the clothes and Gai would buy the food with Kyo sitting and doing missions.

The group was so popular with the ninjas that they had the nickname, “Sphinxes” with all missions they took. (They still didn’t know who came up with that stupid name).

Next came Gai with his girlfriend that he met on one of his missions.

She had long back silk hair that would always be pinned in the back and would wear kimono’s with a fan strapped to her back. Her name was Ling.

She was pretty shy but she would gather her own weight unlike Kyo.

Now Kakashi had six people in his apartment and lets just say that the apartment was growing rapidly. And the space was shrinking with absolutely no privacy.

Ling would now stay home with the baby and Nina.

But they didn’t care they always had stuff to do. They could even go shopping at all the tiny stores in the village, with the mens hard earned cash.

Nina would always go to the Hyuuga compound with Naruto and prance around with him, literally. Showing off his cute rounded face, and those sparkling blue eyes that danced with light.

Next was Kakashi and his girlfriend that was a medical nin. They had been working on a mission and well they hit it off so good that they decided to get married once they had enough money and approval. Being a ninja had always taught them to go after what you wanted because you never knew when a stray arrow or sword could get you.

They too moved into the apartment.

She had fiery red long hair with violet eyes. Her name was Yuna.

She was nice but thorough and she would always work at the hospital. She was a nice addiction to the growing family, because now it was free to go to the hospital.

Yes everything was at peace in Konoha.

Kakashi would still be late to everything though, but he had a good enough reason now. And he didn't bring his famous porn book everywhere with him, like he used to.

While this was happening the baby named Naruto was getting so much attention that he himself didn’t know what to do about it. First he saw the pretty girl with long blue hair that took care of him, Nina.

Then he sees a guy with a weird thing on his head with fuzzy things growing on his face that Naruto loved to pull, Gai.

And last but not least was the guy who had some kind of black thing covering half of his face with one eye, Uncle Kakashi.

Naruto didn’t know if he was a monster or not but he liked him.

Add that to other people moving in and Naruto thought it was a big party or something.

After about three months in the apartment everyone decided enough was enough.

They all marched into the tower where the Hokage was with Nina in front.

To say the least it looked very funny.

No one dared to step in his or her way when Nina was in charge. She eyes narrowing and her face a perfect statue.

Behind her was Kyo with his long sword and strong imitating skills. His long red coat swishing from side to side. The man's face was rugged with sharp cheekbones and narrow chin. His hair wrapping in a braid.

Next was Ling with Naruto and Gai. Ling with her beautiful kimono and soft sounding feet. She was the picture up pure happiness, carrying a giggling child at her waist.

Gai with his ever green one piece suit and bowl cut black hair, was smiling and talking about this and that.

Then Yuna making funny faces towards the baby. But in secret, not wanting a respectable woman as she was being seen in public make funny faces towards a child. She was a medic after all.

And finally but not least was Kakashi, his hair standing as ever. Pacing lazily after the group, with a tiny porn book in his hand.

The Third was at his desk looking out the big window. Today was sunny and bright with a light wind. Not a could in the sky

It seemed, the Third mused, that his plan was well on its way with Naruto being loved.

The villagers didn’t know about the fox in him and his, “family” was growing rapidly.

The Third was cut short on his musings when a loud crash was heard and the next thing he knew was a bunch of people standing before him. They were just standing there until the brave and powerful Nina stepped forward.

“Hokage sama sorry to barge in like this but the apartment is too small and we all were hoping you had something a little bigger for us.” Nina said while dragging up Ling with Naruto in hand to tie the deal.

All the while smiling sweetly.

The Third just laughed and stood up.

“I don’t know if we have anymore houses.” He said lightly.

Taping his chin looking like he was in thought.

Kakashi also walked up looking like he didn’t have a good night’s rest in ages.

“ Hokage you must have something.” He said while everyone else nodded.

For a moment the third could swear the man looked like he was pleading.

“Well I might." He said slowly. Inhaling from his pipe.

"But it might be to big.” He said smiling then he threw a set of keys towards Kakashi who caught it and practically ran out of the room with the others. Before the old man could even tell the group where the place was.

Nina said back laughing at the sight.

“Thank you. You don’t know how hectic it has been with three small families living like that.” She said getting ready to leave.

“You do know that I had bought the house sometime ago right?"

"I just wanted to see when everyone finally got fed up.” The Third laughed closing the door.

Nina on the other side just laughed and walked away.

The Third was still the same.

The Third walked back to the table looking out the window watching the big group run towards their destination. He took a puff of smoke, 'yes that group would certainly have their hands full.' He thought, blowing the smoke out of his mouth. Making the smoke curl and ride the air.

He just hoped Naruto would be ready when the time came.

Only time would tell if he were destined for magic along with other children.

The new house.

It turned out the house was,

HUGE!

It was located near the outskirts of the village. It was a two-story house that connected to other smaller houses on either side. It also had a huge yard for playing and practicing ninja arts.

The main house itself was an off white color with rock formations all around. The stairs that lead up to the front wooden door was also wood with two stone statues of sphinxes.

The inside was even more beautiful with the carpeting being green and the furniture matching it. There were at least three couches and two large sofas. Not including the dinning room table and chairs. It even had pictures on the walls displaying landscapes. The kitchen was huge with two islands in the middle. There were even two pantries stuffed with food.

The bathrooms and bedrooms where either upstairs or down stairs, equally huge. The group was so impressed they all wanted the main house so there was only one way to decide.

Straws decided that Kakashi and Yuna were to have the West house while Nina and Kyo had the middle and finally Gai and Ling had the east house.

The West house was a little smaller then the middle one, but it still was pretty huge.

It had its own little backyard that connected to the mains houses yard if they so wished to venture there. The inside was covered in a tan paint with the carpet matching it. They to had a large kitchen with bathrooms and bedrooms.

The East house had white walls with a tan-ish white carpet and the same with the other houses.

The three backyards all connected in the end and they were leading to a dojo as Kyo called it, a place to train.

The place was huge with wooden floors and paper doors. Wooden walk ways everywhere. It was safe to say they were all happy.

Naruto by the time he was five knew the history of the village and was starting to learn taijutsu along with other things.

He found out who he could pester and not.

Nina was one of those you didn’t want to pester.

She was demanding but she would treat him like a mother.

Kyo was also demanding but not as bad, and besides if he was good Kyo said he would teach him some sword tech.

Everyone else was laid back and easy but Gai still creeped him out sometimes.

He would randomly start challenging Kakashi or start sputtering some Youth thing in Naruto’s face. Jumping up and down at irregular times.

That was the routine throughout the years.

Naruto would wake up and spar with whomever, while he had training weights on.

Then he would learn new jutsu's with Kakashi and Nina, then he would train with Kyo in swordsmen ship.

Yes he was doing a lot but he didn’t care because he loved the attention.

When he was about seven they enrolled him in the academy where he could be with kids his age.

There he met Iruka sensei along with other kids. Like Sakura and Hinata. He also met Sasuke and Kiba along with everyone else.

Naruto wasn’t sure if he liked Sasuke yet being all high and mighty but maybe he had to show off like that.

“Hey dobe stop daydreaming and help me.” Sasuke said, irritated while Sakura giggled. Her pink hair flowing down her short shoulders. Sasuke on the other had had a pale completion with raven hair, letting it stand up in back like a ducks butt.

Yes she had a crush on Sasuke and not him but at least she was his friend, a start right?

Ever since Naruto laid eyes on Sakura he instantly fell in love with her.

But she wanted Sasuke like everyone else.

Even though Naruto was one of the top students or so he thought, he still couldn’t get Sakura to look at him. He really couldn't see why though, sure Sasuke's face had a sharpness to it, even at his age, while his own face was still round with baby fat. That didn't mean he wasn't as handsome or pretty.

They were currently in class.

It had been at least five years since they knew each other. After the incident with Sasuke’s family he had moved in with Naruto and now Sakura would always be over.

Then there was Hinata a shy weird girl.

He remembered when he first met her. It was about five years ago when Naruto and Nina went over to the Hyuuga house to say hi. Naruto had been bored sitting there watching the grownup talk when he walked outside.

There he saw Hinata practicing throwing stars. He walked up and bluntly stated that she was doing it wrong.

Then he showed her and that’s how they met.

Naruto broke from his thoughts and looked around, the teacher was talking about other countries, which really didn’t interest him at all since Ling told him about them already.
He looked around bored to death then saw Sasuke writing down the notes.

‘What a nerd’ he scoffed.

“Hey Sasuke you want to go to the Ramen stand after class?” Naruto said quietly. He had been caught talking enough in class today.

“Why not.” He said without looking at him.

He saw that Sakura and Hinata would also go and that was why he asked Sasuke teme because where he went the girls went.

So the small group left and went to eat at the stand.

Like they always did.

It was a sort of ritual for them.

They would come in a big group every week and talk about their lives. Then Naruto and Sasuke would head home for a real meal as Nina always put it.

“Hey do you think the exams will be easy?” Naruto had asked Sasuke on their way home. He really wanted to pass to become a real ninja like his family maybe even a swordsman.

“I know I’ll pass so you should to so stop worrying dobe.” Sasuke grunted with a small smile.

He wanted to grow up and become an Anbu that way he would protect his, “family” from people like his brother.

Yes the stoic boy didn’t want revenge anymore after he had met Naruto and his family.

They walked in the front door only to be greeted by Kakashi and Gai smiling.

Then without a word they both produced weighted training clothes.

“WHAT!” exclaimed Naruto loudly they weren’t supposed to get anymore for at least a week.

“For good luck and the power of youth!” Gai said smiling. That didn't even make scene.

The two took them signing. Gai always said that towards everything. They were pretty glad they didn’t have him as their jounin sensei.

They all then talked a little waiting for Nina’s fantastic food. She was the one who made the food and it was the greatest.

Naruto even liked it and he was the king of Ramen.

That night they were all at the table laughing and having the time of their lives.

Telling joking and competing on such things like who could eat the most and of course the staring contest against all the males.

Kyo suddenly leaned in on Naruto.

“Hey buddy why don’t we leave after the exams tomorrow and get you a real sword?” Kyo said smirking.

Kyo to Naruto was like an older sibling.

They both liked to pull pranks and loved practicing sword tech. It turns out that Kyo had declined to be an jounin instructor. All he wanted to do was find challenges so it was rare to see him eat with everyone.

He was usually out.

Naruto face lightened up like the sun. He had always wanted a sword of his own.

“You bet.” He said loudly.

His blue eyes sparkling.
