I own nothing of the Harry Potter world, it is owned by the wonderful JK Rowling and her minions. I am making absolute no money from this.
Chaper 2
Chapter 2
“Your eyes can be so cruel
Just as I can be so cruel
Though I do believe in you
Yes I do”
Within You - David Bowie
Chocolate brown, melting milk chocolate brown; that’s what he always thought when he had looked into her eyes. Those eyes that were now closed forever but they lived on in his son’s eyes. She lived again through his eyes, they looked at him, curious and sleepily. Sebastian was full and content, and ready for a nap it seemed. Draco looked at him warmly, his son. He sighed, such an amazing thing to have a child of his own, something that was both himself and Hermione all wrapped up in soft, warm skin; capped with ten, wiggling fingers and toes.
He wrapped Sebastian in a fuzzy green blanket, and laid him in his bassinet to again sleep. Placing a stuffed bear beside him that Hermione had picked out months before. He remember the day, she was in one of her moods and after reading another pregnancy book decided they needed to go shopping and they needed to go now! During the course of the day they had made circles of all the baby stores Diagon Alley had to offer. They were standing in a store that had a large stork painted on the sign. Hermione was looking at little sweaters and pants for the baby when she noticed a stuffed bear, there wasn’t anything amazing about this bear Draco had thought but Hermione was dead set on buying it. “Don’t you think this would be prefect for it?” She asked smiling, he watched her place her hand protectively over her swelled stomach. “We could place it in it’s bassinet and it could sleep with it.” He had agreed instantly just from the smile on her face and the sparkle in her eyes.
He had laughed at her when she kept talking about ‘nesting’ and how it was good for an expecting mother. Of course she had done an amazing job on the nursery, the walls were painted a pale yellow. Non gender specific and mellow. A white strip of decorative wood ran along the middle of the walls to separate. Draco remembered Hermione sitting on the floor one day, book of charms sitting in front of her; her wand in her hand. “What are you doing, my love?” He asked, knowing it was a dangerous question sometimes. She had her lip pulled between her front teeth, a sign of concentration. “I’m trying to get the animals to move…watch” She was staring at a spot on the wall where the roof and the wall met. She muttered a charm and with a flash of light magical creatures and animals appeared as a border. They moved and practically lived as if nothing was wrong, that they weren’t living on someone’s wall. “Well now, isn’t that neat?” She muttered, leaning back on her hands and leaning her head on her shoulder as she watched. Dragons flew around the border, breathing fire every once in a while, as lions basted in the ‘sun’, yawning and moving around. He was impressed. “I love it, you always do amazing work” He kneeled beside her, and kissed her deeply. She gave a gasp of surprise and looked down at her stomach. Hermione noticed the look of concern and gently placed his hand on her stomach. He instantly felt a bumping up against his hand. His child was kicking; a huge smile grew on his face.
Draco shook himself out of his memories, and looked down at Sebastian. He had his hair, blond but her nose. Such a beautiful balance of them both. He reached one hand into the bassinet and gently rubbed the back of his son’s hand. It was so soft, it slowly opened to wrap around his finger. Again, a smile widened on his face. He suddenly felt a tug on his pants, looking down he saw their house elf and part nanny, Ninny. She looked nervous to be disturbing Draco, but looked at Sebastian and pointed to the door. He followed out of the room and quietly closed the door. “Yes, Ninny?”
“Master, Mister and Mistress Potter is here to see you sir.” She spoke quickly, she wasn’t afraid of Draco as many elves before had feared the Malfoy’s. Hermione had made sure all their help had been treated well and paid for their services; and also making it quite clear that if it hadn’t been for the mansion they lived in they wouldn’t have house elves at all. Draco sighed, this is all he needed. Nodding and thanking Ninny, he made his way down the stairs to the sitting room.
