I am not making any money with this. Everything you recognize belongs to J.K.Rowling and those she made contract with. I really don't own Harry Potter!
the Shrieking Shack
She opened the door and one by one, Draco, Ron, Harry, Ginny, Neville and Luna entered her Head Girl dorm.
“Well, why don’t you come in?” she said sarcastically, once again rubbing her eyes, wondering if heads could burst from pain.
“Thanks, ‘Mione!” Ron answered happily and flopped down on the sofa in front of her fireplace. Draco only rolled his eyes, once again wondering why his boyfriend had to have a vacuum instead of brains.
“It’s Friday evening and we”, here Draco pointed at all of them in turn, “will go out tonight.” Elegantly seating himself next to Ron, he crossed his arms and looked smugly at Hermione.
Just when she was about to reply, he cut her off and waved his perfectly manicured hand.
”No, curly, no excuses. I talked to Dumbledore and he agreed. Prefects will cover our rounds and as long as we only go to ‘the Shrieking Shack’, we are allowed to go. I got it all covered.” Draco leaned back against the cushions, once again this smug grin on his face.
Hermione really wanted to punch the smile of his face, but she doubted that Ron would be happy about it. So instead she did what she could do best, she thought about it. They hadn’t had the chance to go to the bar yet. It actually belonged to Lucius Malfoy, who would have thought that Lucius – OMGiambetterthaneveryoneelse – would be a bartender after the war, but Draco had told them that his father loved it and Narcissa didn’t mind that he spend his evenings there. Rather at his bar then at a revel.
And it wasn’t that they would be breaking any school rules. They were all of age. As they had to concentrate on the Final Battle, neither of them had attended Hogwarts last year and now, in their 7th year, they shared classes with Ginny and Luna, all of them being considered adults in the Wizarding World.
Harry’s voice shook her out of her thoughts.
“C’mon ‘Mione, live a little, love a little.” She rolled her eyes at this, she just KNEW she shouldn’t have let him watch TV the last time he visited her. There was a rerun of old Elvis Presley movies and he just loved this quote.
She knew she would give in eventually, so she decided to avoid further headaches by agreeing right away.
“Give me 5 minutes to get dressed.” smiling at her friends, she shooed them out of her rooms, while they were still hollering and clapping hands.
Ginny and Luna followed her example and got dressed as well and the boy went downstairs to wait in the entrance hall for the girls.
Draco rushed back to Hermione’s room and stuck his head through the door.
“Remember, curly, Muggle clothes!” He ducked the pillow thrown at him.
“Yes, Weaslette, now OUT!” He glared at her but left.
Taking a look in her closet she decided on black, tight fitting jeans, which clung to her hips and a brilliant red wool sweater with a draping neckline. After all it was winter, only a few weeks until Christmas.
After applying just the slightest hint of make-up she went downstairs to meet her friends in the entrance hall. When finally Ginny and Luna appeared they walked together towards the Gates of Hogwarts and apparated towards the other end of Hogsmeade. They had to walk the last meter as, apart from Draco and Ron, no one knew where the bar was located exactly.
It wasn’t far and to be honest, they were a bit disappointed when they stood in front of it. It was a plain house in the muggle area of Hogsmeade. Actually, it looked more like normal house than a bar.
“What? Did you think there would be a bright red neon sign ‘Hellllooooo, this is a Wizard pub, please freak out – NOW?!’ Only Wizards and Witches are able to enter this house. Come on, let me show you.” He and Ron walked ahead of the others; they rang the bell and entered as soon as the door opened. Hermione was curious, to say the least, and she wasn’t about to be disappointed. They walked through a long and dimly lit corridor before they entered a cosy looking room. On the left was a long, wooden counter, looking much like a counter from muggle bars and on the right and in the back were several booths and round tables. Before the tables in the back there was also platform, probably a dance floor, Hermione thought. The decoration was very tasteful, warm light and dark colours, everything very low key, and everything very…Un-Malfoy-like. Which meant that she loved it.
“Draco! What are you doing here, son?” Lucius Malfoy called out from behind the counter, where he was just fixing two glasses of Firewhiskey for the gentleman who must have entered shortly before them, as they were just settling down.
“The Headmaster allowed us to go out, if we came here, Dad.” Draco replied and Lucius came around the bar to hug his son and his boyfriend. It had surprised everyone with what ease he had accepted that his only son and heir was gay and that he had chosen a Weasley of all people. That is why Hermione couldn’t understand the rather uncomfortable look of the older Malfoy. Maybe she was imagining things, she thought, shrugged it off and followed the others to a booth, which seated all of them.
Even before they could order their drinks the light dimmed and a piano appeared on the dance floor, well seems to be a stage, Hermione thought, curious to see what would happen now.
“Oh no!” Lucius groaned and rubbed his eyes.
“Mr. Malfoy? What is wrong?” Neville asked the blonde concerned.
But he didn’t answer and then someone started playing and the lights dimmed even more, before a spot was illuminating the stage just seconds before the man started singing.
“Its nine o’clock on a Saturday
the regular crowd shuffles in..:”
Hermione’s head whipped around at the first notes of the song. There was no chance to mistake this voice! Velvety, silky, deep and rich…it was Professor Snape!
“Oh my God!” was all that she could say.
