In comes...Hermione
Hello! I just want to say THANK YOU to those who reviewed and encouraged me to continue. I also like to say sorry about the misspelling of Blaise's name. I think I fixed it but let me know if I missed something. Also at the moment I do not have any editing for me so sorry about all of the errors, I will try to fix them as soon as possible. I think in the next chapter I will reply to individual reviews. Any here is another chapter...let me know what you think!!!
Chapter 2: In Comes ...Hermione
Hermione Granger was generally a happy person, but at the moment she did not feel happy she felt something else. She had great friends, she loved life and she loved school. Hermione usually looked forward to summer vacations and she had definitely been looking forward to this one. Last year had been the worst of her life; she had been involved in a war, and she had lost her parents. Jane Granger and Robert Granger had been the victims of a Death Eater attack on the last night of the war. When the Death Eaters had come searching for Hermione, best friend to the Boy-Who-Lived they had found her parents instead. Her sweet, kind muggle parents had been tortured and killed and she had been able to do nothing.
Hermione had been devastated and had not known what she was going to do. She had anticipated that with the end of the war she would be able to go back to life the way it had been before Voldermort. With the death of her parents she had been shocked and angry but more importantly she had been lost and confused. What was she going to do? She had felt like she was alone.
Her best friends Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley had stepped in and comforted her. They told her that she still had family, that she still had people that she could count on. She knew that she should tell them, that then was a good time. The war was over right? He had not done anything that would make them hate him right? His best friend might be a prat but he was not. She had struggled with the idea of telling them for 6 months. She just did not know what to do. He felt like their relationship should be made public, at first she thought that it would hurt her parents, or confuse them at least. They never seemed upset by her being a witch but she knew they felt like they were losing her, how would they have reacted to him?
When she had finally gotten the nerve to tell them Ron had decided he wanted to become closer. He never said the words ‘lets get closer’ but he had begun to hang around her more. He had asked her multiple times if she wanted to go out to lunch or dinner with him. At the time she had felt relieved. Hermione had liked him for so long and it had seemed like they were finally coming together. She had known that Ron was going to ask her out before the beginning of summer. Hermione, however, had been completely wrong.
Ron had not asked her out. Ron had asked her if she knew if Pavarti Patil was dating anyone. At first she was confused. Why did he want to know? Why should she know? At the time she thought he just wanted to know more about her friends, so she had asked Pavarti. The first day of official summer vacation she had walked into the burrow to find Ronald Weasely and Pavarti Patil making out on the couch. She thought she was upset to find out they were dating. But she now knew that the feelings she felt then were nothing compared to what she was feeling now, as she stared at the darkening sky through the window of her room she knew that she was feeling pissed.
How could Ron do this to her? He was supposed to be with her! She had wanted to talk to Harry but he was wrapped up in his girlfriend Ginny. Hermione usually loved Ginny but this last week Hermione had been feeling lonely and bored because her two best friends had completely forgotten her. She knew she wanted to tell some one but whom? The answer was simple, but she hated it.
He had been asking her to come stay with him, ‘with your real family’ he had put it when she told him she was staying with the Weasleys. They had been arguing about it for months now and it was looking like she was going to give in.
Hermione sighed and left her room to walk down stairs, she needed some fresh air. When she reached the front porch she found the two happy couples star gazing together.
“Hey” Hermione said, “why didn’t anyone tell me they you were coming out here I would have joined you guys.”
Ron and Pavarti were cuddled up together and apparently had not heard her. Harry and Ginny looked up. Harry grinned and said, “We figured you would not want to feel like the fifth wheel. You never hang out with us any more so we stopped asking you. Sorry, you could join us not if you want to.”
Hermione was shocked. They had never invited her to anything to begin with so how could she refuse? She was so frustrated and mad she did not know what to say and to make matters worse she could feel tears coming to her eyes. She just did not know what to say.
“You better be nicer to my cousin Potter,” said a voice from the darkness, “I would hate to have to take out Mione’s friend.” Blaise Zabini walked toward to porch and stopped just before the stairs. He looked at Hermione and smiled slightly, “Hello Mione, are you ready to come stay with your family yet? You don’t seem to be having too much fun here.”
Harry and Ron had jumped up in shock thinking that there was about to be an attack. Why was Zabini here at the Burrow and why was he talking to Hermione? Had he called her is cousin? But what shocked them the most was when Hermione launched herself off the porch and into Blaise’s arms.
