Back to the start
Still don't own!
~Back to the start ~
He watched her walk away from him. Powerless to stop her. It was nothing less than he deserved he knew. He’d watched her be tortured in his own home. Done nothing to stop it. Of course he’d gone to Azkaban for it. And now he was free.
He had found, in that dark place that he wanted her. She had become the thing that kept him sane.
‘Come up to meet you,
Tell you I'm sorry, ‘
Of course Hermione Granger had agreed to hear his apology, but while he had forgiveness, he lacked her trust, and her ability to forget.
‘You don't know how lovely you are.’
“I love you! If I could take back my past I would” he had told her, meaning it.
She had looked at him sadly, “But you can’t” she had replied softly, “You kissed me, and then nearly killed me.”
Then she’d turned and left him, standing cold and alone in his own manor. How he recalled that kiss. In Diagon alley. Just a swift brush of lips, mostly to shut the know it all up. But how he hungered for her since that small touch.
‘I had to find you,
Tell you I need you,
Tell you I set you apart.’
He had retired to his study, flipping through the pages of nearly every book he owned. “Take back time” he muttered, “Take back time….”
His bright eyes lit up a moment later, “Of course!” he said triumphantly, “I CAN take back my past.”
He spent weeks looking for one, a time turner and when he at last found it, he took care to plan very thoroughly. Nothing would be left to chance.
Then he stood, with the golden object in his hands and sent time spinning backwards.
‘Tell me your secrets,’
He saw Hermione whisper her most guarded thoughts to Hedwig and Crookshanks
‘And ask me your questions,
Oh let's go back to the start.’
He rewrote what he could and mended what had been torn. As best he could. How many times he had longed to embrace her, but the rules were clear, he was not to be seen.
‘Runnin' in circles,
Comin' up tails,
Heads on the science apart.’
That didn’t mean he couldn’t be heard.
He left an object behind for her.
A precious object.
A journal.
It warned her of dangers to come. Begged for her silence. Begged for her love.
‘Nobody said it was easy,
It's such a shame for us to part.’
Hermione wasn’t certain where the book had come from. Or who had written it. But the words made her heart ache. Clearly someone one had loved another very much to write such sweet words.
‘Nobody said it was easy, ‘
It wasn’t until much later that she came to understand the words and warning were for her.
‘No one ever said it would be this hard.’
Hermione stood in Malfoy Manor, frightened and trembling. Her body ached, her face was battered. Nearby Ron had ceased struggling. Was he alive? The was no Harry to save her now. Narcissa and Draco stood off to the side, watching her with wide eyes.
“Are these the ones?” a raspy voice had asked.
That one answer would end or save her life. She hung her head in defeat.
Narcissa studied her carefully, “They might be. Look how battered they are? I can’t be certain.”
The tormenter had a moment’s pause and as he turned to look at her again, a new voice a sounded. “Expelliarmus! Avada Kedavra!”
Wand flying, the death eater fell backwards.
Hermione looked up to see the new death eater in the door, he ripped the mask from his handsome face. “You alright?” he asked.
She nodded, mutely.
From the side of the room Draco wailed, and Lucius saw his wife sink to the floor. The mark of the curse spreading over her chest. Draco fired a counter curse through the doorway, striking his aunt.
Hermione shook from her head to toe and then… the world went black.
‘Oh take me back to the start.’
Months passed. Nearly a year and life was returning to normal. But Hermione didn’t feel normal. She had received owls once a week since that horrid night. Lucius Malfoy always asked after health and she longed to ask him…. About the journal she had uncovered in Hogwart’s.
The one that promised he would save her life.
‘I was just guessin',
At numbers and figures,
Pullin' the puzzles apart.’
The one that promised he had loved her.
With a determined sigh, she took the journal to the manor.
He was in his study, working quietly when the house elf led her in.
Golden brown met silver blue in a tense unspoken question. Before Lucius could speak, she reached in her bag and removed his journal. She stepped closer, setting it carefully on his desk between them.
She had marked the most important page earlier and flipped to it.
‘I wonder’ the page read, ‘how I can love you as I do? As if the world never moved until I saw you.’
She dared him to lie to her, but knew he wouldn’t.
He dared her to run, but knew she never would.
‘Questions of science,
Science and progress, ‘
Lucius rose and moved around the large desk, keeping his eyes on hers.
‘Do not speak as loud as my heart.’
When they stood close enough to touch, she lifted her hand to his cheek. He turned his face into her palm, laying a gentle kiss.
Hermione’s eyes darkened and he swooped low, catching her lips with his own. His mouth was expert against her own, pressing top lip then bottom, then top once more. His teeth caught her lower lip and tugged making her moan and open for him.
‘Tell me you love me, ‘
“Tell me you love me” Hermione whispered against his mouth. And Lucius recalled once long ago in a time not yet to come, not ever to come when he had said those words and she had left anyway.
‘Come back and haunt me, ‘
Lucius crushed her to his broad chest, “I love you” he told her, “You haunt me”
‘Oh and I rush to the start.’
They kissed madly, not even stopping while he apparated them to his room. Her small fingers fumbling with tiny hooks and buttons, trying to get him naked.
He chuckled and spelled the clothing away. Leaving them bare, vulnerable.
Her arms came up to cover but he stopped her with a word. “Don’t.”
She let her hands fall to her sides, even as Lucius stepped behind her, like some great silver gold cat. Stalking her.
He gathered her hair to one side, nipping along her throat, purring into the soft flesh he found. His hands ran over her body, gently, yet possessively. Hands cupping her breasts, lifting them, teasing them.
“Are you a virgin?” he asked her then.
She closed her eyes, the color on her cheeks deepening as she nodded.
He chuckled as his long fingers slid to the close cropped curls between her thighs. “Thank Merlin for clueless young men” he murmured as he slid his fingers back through warm cream. “You are very wet you know?”
She flushed at his words, his teasing strokes and touches.
Hermione was already half incoherent with pleasure when he settled her back against the bedding, nipping his way down her stomach.
“What…. What are you doing to me?” she panted out. Her body was on fire, tingling and itchy as though it wasn’t really hers.
Lucius raised his golden head from her inner thigh where he had been nipping an upward path and smirked, “Making you mine” he whispered.
Then he lashed his tongue against her heated folds. She arched and cried out, the sensation overwhelming.
He merely soothed her with soft words and firm hands, holding her steady as he ravaged her sex with his mouth.
She exploded a few moments later, the world around her shattering into disjointed fragments then realigning themselves and coming together again.
‘Runnin' in circles,
Chasin' our tails,
Comin' back as we are.’
Lucius slid up her body, nestling his thick length against her opening, “I’ll have you now”.
Her mouth opened on a silent scream as me pressed inside of her.
Lucius fused his mouth to hers, drinking in ever small sound as he began to move.
‘Nobody said it was easy,
Oh it's such a shame for us to part.’
Her hands were on his back, in his hair, her moans and whimpers filling his head with delightful notions of future activities.
And then she was fluttering around him, milking him as her orgasm took hold once more.
“I .. love.. You!” she panted out, her mouth falling into a perfect O shape as pleasure shot through her again.
Her words sent Lucius headlong towards his own release. His spine felt like it might snap and then the flood of heat swept through him.
He roared his release, feeling his body spasm in time with her flutterings.
‘Nobody said it was easy, ‘
Long minutes later she was curled against him, wondering what this would bring. She didn’t want to think of it now. Not when her body sang so sweetly beside his.
“Good night Lucius Malfoy” she whispered.
“Good night Hermione… Malfoy”
She smiled against his shoulder, “We’ll see”
‘No one ever said it would be so hard.’
What would the world think in the morning?
‘I'm goin' back to the start.’
