tinglingsensation: i don't even know how george would've lived without someone who was very nearly the other half of his body O.o not to mention i'm sure that their magic was shared so how would that have worked? and i hope i don't let you down--i think draco, ginny, and snape are all a bit ooc in the coming chapters :( and here's a hint about draco & harry: day 7 ;)

20 October, Day 2
Harry rolled his eyes as he walked with his best friends to their first class of the day, Potions. So far, there had been two feeble attempts at pranking in the Great Hall. One was a failure given that it was a rather daring charm by a first year; the poor student had lacked the talent and power to successfully charm the entire population. However, there were a few students still walking around dazed from the attempt. The second was also by a daring first year and had involved a bucket of water above the doors to the Great Hall; it had been funny but amatuer.
There was another good attempt, Harry noted, as he passed by the armour in the Potions hallway. It had been charmed into tripping students at random with his ax. It was clever but dangerous. It was probably a second year because Harry knew a student in that year who would try that kind of thing.
"Honestly," Hermione huffed, "These aren't funny at all! All of them are dangerous!"
"Oh, shush, Hermione," Ron said, "At least someone is doing something. I can't wait, though, for something even better."
"I'm sure the seventh years will have something," Harry added, "I heard Mcgonagal talking about our class one day. Said we're the cleverest class she's ever had the privelage to teach. Not to mention we're resourceful."
"Well, we've had to be," Hermione said, "With the most of us being involved in the war."
"So just imagine what we're going to come up with," Ron smirked.

Amateurs, Pansy thought to herself. It was lunch time and she was waiting until she saw the last professor in the Great Hall to get her turn. She would have done her prank in the morning but there was no guarentee that someone would be able to undo her prank until after classes. This way, they all had at least an afternoon off from classes.
When Professor Snape entered the room, she took her wand out under the table and wandlessly cast the spell. When she heard distant thudding, she smiled and put her wand away.
She made a mental note, as well, to go right to the Owlry after classes were cancelled so as to thank her great aunt Lidia for this handy spell.

Harry sighed when he saw the transfiguration classroom. After lunch, he had left with Ron and Hermione to go to class only to find the entrance hall, stairs, and halls filled with pumpkins. They were all piled in a way that they would not fall but they also crowded the little space that was availible. Now, he saw that these pumpkins had made their way into the classrooms.
"I can't believe this!" Hermione nearly yelled. She sounded almost hysterical. "I told you, didn't I? This was bound to happen!"
"Oh, chill out, Herm," Ron said. He was smiling as he looked around. "Maybe they can be moved?"
"I assure you, Mr. Weasley, they cannot be," Professor Mcgonagal said from where she was standing by a student table. She had her wand out and looked frazzled.
"Professor?" Hermione asked.
The transfiguration professor huffed. "I've been here for the last ten minutes trying to remove these blasted things!"
Ron absently kicked one of the pumpkins. "Well...what about class then?"
The professor narrowed her eyes but clearly didn't have an answer. More students were filing in and most were obviously trying to keep from laughing. Harry really hoped that classes would be cancelled but he knew better. This was Hogwarts and the school had some of the best wizards and witches in its employ. If anyone could get the pumpkins out of the way, it was one of the professors.
Mcgonagal sighed as she looked at the pumpkins. "Everyone, back out. We're going to the library. We'll hold class there instead."
There were disappointed groans from the students but Harry just sighed. He had known that something would happen; the professors wouldn't allow this minor thing to get in their way. However, as they were all preparing to turn around, a piece of parchment appeared in front of Mcgonagal.
Just as the elderly witch reached out to open it, it unfurled itself and Dumbledore's voice was heard.
"Attention students and staff. It has been found out that the pumpkins which appeared suddenly are a prank but also are everywhere in the castle. I've had several reports that state that these pumpkins are not moving for anyone or any spell. Therefore, I've made the decision to cancel classes for the remainder of the day. Staff, I would appreciate it if you go to the staff room for a meeting. Students, enjoy the rest of the day."
And just like that, the scroll burned up. Mcgonagal huffed. "Well, I never!" She turned to her students who immediately cowed under the glowering look she gave them. "I want a two foot essay from each of you on the process of becoming an animagus. Dismissed!"
They all quickly left the room and meet with other students who were suddenly in high spirits at the sudden free time.
"I can't believe she would do that!" Hermione said, "Its not like we can get to the library to do this essay!"
Ron rolled his eyes. "I'm sure the library will be clear of all pumpkins in time for you to write the essay, Hermione. Why not just enjoy this sudden break?"
Harry looked outside. "Why don't you call the team together, Ron? We can have a mock match."
Ron lit up. "Good plan, Harry! I'll even get the Hufflepuffs and see if they'll play against us!" He ran off, yelling to other students as he saw them about the match.
Hermione glared at Harry. "What about our homework, Harry?"
Harry shrugged. "I don't know about you or Ron but I'm all caught up save what we got today. I'll do it tomorrow, okay?"
Hermione seemed pleased by that. "All right. Maybe I'll even go outside for a bit. Get some fresh air."
Harry playfully nudged her shoulder with his. "Yeah, right. More like watch Ron in his gear."
Hermione blushed. "Harry!"
"Well, well, Potter," came the drawling voice of Draco Malfoy. "A mock Quiditch match? Mind if I get my team together?"
Harry thought about it. "Well, get the Ravenclaws together. Your team can play them after the Hufflepuffs play us. Winners play each other?"
Draco smirked. "Perfect."
As Draco walked way, Hermione looked at Harry thoughtfully. "Chumy with Malfoy, Harry?"
Harry blinked at her. "Huh?"
She stopped them when she crossed her arms and gave him the I-know-something-is-going-on-that-you're-not-telling-me. "With Malfoy just now. A friendly game of Quiditch?"
Harry err'd some as he scratched the back of his head. "I dunno. We haven't been fighting all that much and he didn't insult me then. And I think that it might be fun if we played just for fun."
Hermione smirked and kissed Harry's cheek. "Yeah, okay. Just for fun."
Great, Harry thought. Now Hermione looked like she had a secret that involved him. It was the look she gave him when he started to realize that he liked Ginny but didn't know it. He hated when she had that look.
Oh, well. He caught up with the witch as they went to the tower so he could get his gear. He'd think about all that later. Right now he wanted to play Quiditch.
