Chapter 2

A/N: Okay, not much response on the first chapter, but I think that's because it was so short, so here's a longer chapter for y'all. :)

Draco smiled to himself. Today was their five-year anniversary. Five years ago today was the first time that Hermione had showed up on his doorstep, bruised and bloody, and he had taken her in. Her husband was abusive, wanting nothing more than to take his own pleasure and leave Hermione with nothing but bruises.

He and Hermione had been sort of friends before that night, working together and having lunch a couple times out of work, but that night, everything had changed. He had been healing the cut on her lip when he decided that he wanted her as much more than a friend. It didn’t matter that she had a husband or that she was a muggle-born. All he cared about was his mouth on hers, so he swooped in and kissed her. So softly and tenderly.

She had been shocked, but had almost immediately given in. He knew that he kissed better than Weasley, and shagged better than him too. It took a week for Draco to actually get Hermione to consent to sleep with him, because, she said, she didn’t like sex.

He had proved her wrong. She didn’t like sex with the Weasel, she'd loved it with Draco.

And now it was five years later and though she was still with the Weasel—wizarding law prohibited divorce—he was more in love with her now than he could ever be with anyone else. Well, except for his other lover.

When Hermione had first slept over his apartment while Ron was away for a Quidditch tour, it wasn’t all lovey dovey like he had wanted it to be. His lover had come home early and found them in bed together.

And it wasn’t the fact that Draco had been cheating on his lover, but in fact, who it was with that had made his lover so mad.

It wasn’t “Draco, you’ve slept with someone besides me?” it was “Draco, you’ve slept with my brother’s wife?”

But after explaining everything to Charlie, it had turned out better than imagined, because he then joined in the fun as well, and all three of them were lovers together. Now he just had to get out of this bed with Charlie and get ready for the long day with his lovers and son.

“Get the hell away, Draco, or I’ll punch you,” Charlie groaned into the pillow. Draco was being his usual annoying self, poking Charlie in the side.

“Get up, get up,” Draco sing-songed. “Hermione and Jamie are coming over today.”

“I know,” Charlie smiled, both from the thought of seeing Hermione and his son, and from the childishness of Draco. Draco was acting as though Hermione never came to visit them when really she was there every weekend that her husband was away. “Thus why I’m trying to get more sleep.”

“I was thinking we should have breakfast,” Draco said. He was in a very good mood this morning. His usual cold and reserved self was usually put away when he was with either Charlie or Hermione or Jamie, but today he seemed especially uppity.

“What’s got you all happy and shite?” Charlie asked, finally flipping over to look into his lover’s face.

“Five years ago today was when Hermione first came to me to get away from the Weasel,” he said happily.

“Ah,” Charlie said. “It’s your anniversary.”

Draco nodded and smiled. “And we get to go to the zoo for it!” He said this part somewhat sarcastically. Charlie knew that Draco would rather spend all day in bed with Hermione, but they had promised Jamie that they would go to the zoo today to see the new exhibit.

“I’m sure you’ll get into her knickers at least once,” Charlie said. He liked that there were two of them for Hermione, especially when they decided to have Jamie. That way Hermione could be in the bedroom with one of them and the other could watch Jamie, and then they could switch.

Charlie was just happy to see his son. Though around her husband, Hermione pretended Jamie was Ron’s, and Draco also said that Jamie was his own son, it was Charlie’s sperm that had created the little guy. He remembered when he and Draco and Hermione had sat down after over a year of being together and decided that they wanted to have a kid together. Hermione had been on birth control since she married Ron because she knew two hours after the wedding that she hated him, but one week while Ron was away, she stopped taking it and Charlie took her as many times as was humanly possible for her or himself. When the white light above her belly turned blue, she smiled so brightly that he wanted her all over again.

Of course, Draco had been hard up that whole week, Charlie remembered with a smile, since Hermione decided that Charlie had to be the father in order for Ron to not suspect anything. Charlie and Ron had the same red hair and he and Hermione both had brown eyes, so the child would end up with either brown or red hair and most likely brown eyes. If Draco had gotten her pregnant, the child could end up with platinum blond hair and grey eyes and that would have been a little too obvious. So Draco hadn’t been able to make love to her the entire week that it took for Charlie to knock her up.

But it was worth it. Incredibly, unbelievably worth it. Charlie loved Jamie to death, and when his son had first called him ‘daddy’ he couldn’t stop himself from encouraging the boy to call him that, which probably wasn’t a good thing.

But Hermione and Draco were working on the divorce law and soon it would be signed into effect by Charlie’s own father, who had become the Minister of Magic a few years before. Then Hermione and Ron could divorce and the three of them could finally be together without having to sneak around or hide their feeling for each other in public.

The good thing was that the entire wizarding world knew that he and Draco were a couple, so that when Hermione went out to the zoo or the park or Diagon Alley with them and Jamie, it wasn’t suspicious. It wasn’t scandalous for a married woman to hang out with two poofs.

“Did you fall back asleep?” Draco asked.

“No,” Charlie said, pulling himself upright. “Okay, let’s eat breakfast. We need energy if we’re going to be walking around the zoo all day.”

Draco smiled and kissed his lover. “I’ll make pancakes.”

Charlie laughed and dragged himself out of bed. He couldn’t wait until Hermione got there.
