Chapter 2





"Ron will you stop it!! You\'re making me nervous" Harry said while folding all the clean clothes Mrs. Weasley washed for him that morning. The past two weeks have been great. He was finally out of the Dursley’s house. He was free at last, no more yelling, no more starving to death, no more jobs as Dudley’s personal punching-bag.



After a long talk with her husband, Mrs. Weasley went personally to the Dursley’s and told them that she was taking Harry with her. That she had had enough of them treating Harry like a street dog. Uncle Vernon was so red, not because she was taking Harry with her, he was mad because she dared to go to his own house and tell him all that. Even Aunt Petunia moved away from him, fearing that he was going to explode in any second.



Mrs. Weasley send Harry upstairs to gather all his stuff, because that was the last time he was going to stay with that good for nothing family. And after Harry came downstairs with all his belongings, Molly Weasley stood in front of Vernon Dursley and slapped him with all the force she got in her. After that they went outside and apparate to the Burrow. Harry was thrilled, he had always admired Mrs. Weasley, she had always been like a mother to him, but right now she was his heroine.



And now, there he was, folding his clothes, and Ron getting on his nerves “Can’t help it mate, she’s coming today, I can’t wait to see her, and tell her what I feel for her” Ron said this, his ears turning bright red. Harry looked at him and smiled “So you’re telling her at last?” Harry asked him still smiling.



“Yes, that’s why I’m so nervous, what if she says no? I’ll look like an idiot” Harry saw the fear in his bestfriend face “She’ll say yes you know she’s in love with you since fourth year, she only dated Krum to make you jealous” Ron’s mood increased, feeling better he said “Yeah… You’re right Harry, she’ll say yes”



“Who will say yes?” Ron froze; the girl of his dreams was finally there, standing at the door frame smiling at both of them.



“Hermione!”Harry ran and gave her a hug lifting her from the floor spinning her around, Hermione giggle as Harry put her back on the floor, looking at her he said “I’m so glad you’re here Hermione, we’ve missed you so much” Harry said still smiling.



She then turn her gaze to Ron who was walking to them, he gave her a kiss on the cheek and a hug, he then told her in her ear “I’ve missed you” He let go of her and gave her a huge smile. She saw something different in him. Something she wasn’t sure if she really wanted to know what it was. He was her bestfriend, and yes she had had a crush on him since fourth year but that was over now. She hoped it wasn’t that.



She couldn’t stand breaking his heart, and she wasn’t going to accept him either she tried to change the subject.



“So how you both have been, living here together?” She asked, sitting down on the bed Harry was using to fold his clothes.



After telling her everything that had happened since he started living at the Burrow, the three of them went downstairs to have dinner with the other three Weasleys.



“Hermione dear I’m so happy you’re here” Mrs. Weasley said filling her bowl with the onion soup “Everything fine?”She asked walking to the other end of the table and filling Mr. Weasley’s bowl.



“Yes everything’s fine; my parents need to go to America, for a Dental Convention, but they’ll be back at the end of Christmas I think, which means that I’ll have to spend the Holidays at Hogwarts” Hermione finished taking a sip of the soup.



“Aww! Sweetie you know you can stay here during the holidays, that way you don’t have to stay alone at Hogwarts”Mrs. Weasley said smiling at her “Thank you Mrs. Weasley”

After dinner all of them went to the living room to discuss the last details of Harry’s birthday party the next day.



After an animated talk and many laughs they went to bed exhausted.



“Hermione, are you asleep?” Ginny asked to the darkness of her room “No Gin, I’m still awake, what is it?” Ginny moved to her side and said “I’m just wondering, what are you going to wear tomorrow? You know that after the party here’s over Fred and George will take us to a pub”

“Well…I…I don’t know Gin, I’ll find out tomorrow” Hermione closed her eyes again and Ginny said again “But Hermione you can’t be thinking on wearing that pink dress you wore at the TriWizard Tournament?” Ginny said knowing perfectly that’s what Hermione was thinking.



“What’s wrong with it? It’s a pretty dress” Ginny rolled her eyes “I know it’s a pretty dress but it’s old fashion you need to wear something more… well, futuristic”



Ginny was right she didn’t have any proper clothes for going out at night. She’ll just have to stay then, she didn’t want to go out with them looking ridiculous, is not that she cared too much for it, but she was a girl she needed to look good “I don’t know Gin, I think I’ll have to stay here, since I don’t have any proper clothes”



“WHAT?!?! Hell no! You’re going with us Hermione I just wanted to make sure, that you don’t have a proper outfit, but don’t worry, I already took care of it” Ginny said smiling to herself. This was going to be really funny.

“What do you mean exactly?”Hermione asked fearing the worst.



“You’ll see” Ginny said rolling to her right side, Hermione went to sleep again still thinking ‘This is not good’

“Albus I need a word with you” McGonagall‘s voice was heard through the fireplace.



“Of course Minerva, meet me in my office in 10 minutes” Albus Dumbledore said while depositing Fawkes on his perch ‘She notice, Minerva finally notice the difference in Hermione’s last name, it’s time… It’s time to tell the whole truth’



A knock was heard in his door and he said “Come in Minerva” Minerva McGonagall was carrying a scroll of parchment, her expression was serious, she needed an explanation, This couldn’t be right.



“Albus what’s the meaning of this? I was making the list of the new students and I found this in the old records” She said while handing Dumbledore the piece of parchment “That information can’t be correct, there must be some mistake” McGonagall said trying to convince Dumbledore that the parchment was wrong.



“There’s nothing wrong with it Minerva, Hermione’s not a Granger” Albus said looking at Minerva, she couldn’t believe it, this will change everything “Albus I can accept that she’s not a Granger but being the daughter of him, this could be a blow to that poor girl” Minerva said this trying to hold back the tears, she love Hermione, the girl was like a granddaughter to her, she couldn’t stand seeing the girl suffer.



“I’m afraid it’s the truth, and it’s time for her to know. We have to be really careful on how we’re going to tell her the truth”



Minerva’s expression change to horror “Tell her the truth? Albus are you insane, that girl’s better without knowing who her real father is, this could be disastrous for her. We should leave it like this, and never tell her. I’ll not be able to see that poor girl broken, not after the war ended Albus”



“Minerva please, you need to understand that she needs to know, I’ve been keeping this secret for too long, she needs to know” Albus said standing up and walking to Minerva grabbing her hands he said “It’s time Minerva, you know it’s true”



“For how long have you been keeping this secret Albus?”She asked looking at his blue eyes.



“I was the one who put the glamours on her Minerva” He smiled to her trying to convince her and after a brief silence he said “We should get ready, I don’t want to be late for Harry’s seventeenth birthday”
