Reality, Sweet Reality

Chapter Two:
Reality, Sweet Reality

Severus awoke to darkness and sticky sheets, but did not immediately move. He sensed a presence—no, more than one, in his vicinity. Far too close for comfort. Further listening revealed his roommates gathered around his bed, sniggering. ‘Great,’ Severus thought, now on the verge of tears, ‘I wonder how much of that episode took place out loud. No, I don’t want to know. Anyway, I’ll never be able to look Lily in the face again.’ A distinct problem, he realized, as she was virtually his only friend. The dream had been exquisite, but left him feeling more alone than ever, with the realization that intimacy between himself and Lily would never be a possibility. He respected her far too much to touch her in such a way. Besides, he was not ignorant of muggle psychology. He felt that his parents’ relationship had screwed up his chances for life, or at least a life of love. He could not treat Lily the way his father treated his mother, and he was unsure if he could stop himself. No, Lily was a friend and only a friend. For loving, not for touching. He would never suggest such a thing to her, anyway.

After beating this thoroughly depressing thought to death and beyond, his mind returned to his current woes. There was no way he could leave the safety of his bed, with its curtains drawn. His roommates, he knew, were not known for their discretion. All Hogwarts would know that Snivellus had a wet dream about a mudblood by the time he made it to breakfast.

When the sounds of morning preparations had long ceased, Severus made an attempt to pull himself together. He rushed through his dressing and hygiene ritual—most of the student body would be positively shocked to know he had the latter—and ran to breakfast. It would be hard to concentrate the rest of the day if he didn’t eat, he knew. Still, a small voice in the back of his head told him it would be nigh impossible to concentrate this day, regardless.

The Slytherin table was alive with whispers and sniggers by the time Severus arrived in the Great Hall. Ducking his head and assuming something of a defensive posture, he made his way to a deserted portion of the table. As it was late, it was not difficult to find such a place. Even in his own house, he was unpopular, which was saying something as Slytherins, who tended to be exclusive, were generally disliked by other houses and as such, stuck together.

Though recent events had driven away his appetite, Severus managed to eat a small amount of breakfast uninterrupted. ‘Nothing good will come of this day,’ he said under his breath as he collected his things and headed toward the first class of the day.

Things went relatively smoothly—as smoothly as any day went when you were Severus Snape—when the final class of the day rolled around. Severus found he was anxious about the end of classes, because it would be difficult to find ways to remain undisturbed once classes and professors could no longer be effective shields.

Potions, blessed potions. Something to get lost in—a means of forgetting all his worries. Wait… Slytherin and Gryffindor had potions together. That meant—oh, no. ‘Pull yourself together,’ Severus tried to coach himself on the way to the dungeons, ‘they’re Slytherins, they can smell fear.’

What this meant was that for the approaching double-period, he would be shut in a relatively small space with his dorm mates and with Lily, and after last night nothing good could possibly come of that situation. But surely they wouldn’t… they weren’t evil, were they?

“Hey Sev,” Lily said without looking up from her textbook. She gave no indication that anything was in any way wrong, which allowed Severus to relax a bit. There was still the awkward sex-dream thing, but repressing could be effective. No coping like abortive coping. Taking his place at Lily’s and his usual table, he did not even spare the Slytherin half of the room a glance as the professor moved to the front of the room and began class.
“Sev,” Lily whispered conspiratorially, discreetly moving her hand to his half of the table, “let me see your book.”

“Not now,” he said through his teeth, tensely. Lily knew that Severus made notes in his text which improved almost every potion they ever had to brew. She also figured that Severus, like many boys, was just enough smitten with her to give no argument if she used that fact to her advantage. He never had before.

Severus didn’t want Lily to see his notes today, however, because his eyes had wandered to the Slytherins with whom he lived. They were making faces and less-than-subtle hand gestures, and he was getting angry. He didn’t want them to drive a wedge between himself and the only friend he had, the very thought terrified him.

Fear, in Severus’ case, was quickly converted to anger—a much less vulnerable emotion. He had just finished drawing up the basics for a new spell. Sectumsempra. It was going to be a defining moment when he worked out all the kinks.

This spell would get his housemates off his back, they were cowards. It would strike fear into the hearts of the Marauders, and he would never suffer at their hands again. Severus made another absentminded note: “For enemies.” He certainly had plenty of those.

“Sev,” Lily whispered more urgently, trying to pull the text out from under his hand, “Sev, I need your notes! This is hard, please!”

“Lily,” he said, firmly closing the text and removing it from her reach and catching her hands in his, “I’ll help you.”

“Thanks, Sev,” she said somewhat coquettishly, looking at him through her lashes and wrestling with his arms until she was holding his hands. Drawing conspiratorially close to him as if to whisper, Lily allowed her face to rest against Severus’ face, her sweet breath cooling his cheek as she pressed her soft lips to the side of his face.

Severus did help Lily; actually, he did most of the work while she flitted about, smiling and chatting about nothing in particular, finding excuses to touch him occasionally—just to keep him interested.
Lily knew she was a pretty girl; she knew that most of the boys at Hogwarts were very interested in her, and she had no problem using that. Severus may be her oldest friend, but lately he had gotten on her nerves, cavorting with people she didn’t approve of and the like, and she planned to get even. It would be great practice, anyway.

Severus had convinced Lily to take over stirring for a few moments while he prepared the next ingredient. When he stepped behind her to add it as she stirred, the next step of the plan became apparent to her.
Once the ingredient had been successfully insinuated into the potion but before Severus moved away, Lily caught his hands again and pulled him so that he was flush against the back of her, wrapping her arms around his middle.

An alarm went off in Severus' mind; this was not a part of the plan. He wasn't the right person for anyone, let alone her, but there was only so long someone his age could put morals ahead of the promise of sex. It was simple biology.

“Lily,” he breathed raggedly, “what are you doing?”

In response, she wiggled her bum and felt his cock stir.

“Lily!” Now he sounded alarmed.

“What, Sev? I want you, surely you’ve realized that by now.”

“I… I…”

“Don’t you want it?” she asked, slowly guiding one of his hands up her ribcage to rest right below her breast.

“I d-do, but… are you sure?”

“Yesss,” Lily murmured, shifting against him again, “tonight, right after dinner, meet me in the Room of Requirement.”

Though he never found his voice for the rest of the class, at that moment, instinct took over for Severus. His arms tightened around her middle and he moved against her, cherishing the sweet friction of her arse against his cock. His breath sped up and his head fell so that his nose rested on the top of her head, breathing in her scent. Looking around, he saw that everyone else was still struggling through their work, and the professor was more than occupied. One hand wandered up to her breast, kneading it and plucking at the nipple. Her head fell back against his shoulder and his lips latched onto her neck as he kissed, nibbled, and sucked, leaving a perfect love bite.

Lily broke away for a moment and approached the professor to excuse herself for a moment, but rather than leave for the bathroom, she went back to her workstation and knelt behind the table, completely invisible to everyone but Severus.

“Sev,” she whispered, “come here.”

As though under the Imperius curse, Severus did as she asked.
He was not surprised when she began unfastening his trousers and pulled out his cock; after this bizarre turn of events, that was almost expected. Feeling her mouth descend on him was not. He wasn’t sure where Lily had been going with this. It took every ounce of control he had not to cry out or come instantly.

Her hot mouth was like heaven, and damn, she was good at this. She could take all of him in her mouth and did, as she clung to his thighs, allowing him total control of the act. White knuckles clinging to the worktable, Severus thrust sharply into her mouth and felt a hum of delight resonate along his shaft. When Lily’s hands trailed around to caress his balls, he knew it was over. Severus reached under the table to hold her head flush to his body. With a strong thrust and a distinct tremble, he shot his hot seed forcefully down her throat.

“Fuck,” he said under his breath, giving a few weak, residual thrusts. It hadn’t lasted as long as he would have liked, but that was probably a good thing since they were in a classroom, with other people.

“Lily,” he said breathlessly, pulling her off the floor as she licked her lips and righted her hair, “that was… that was…”

“Amazing?”

“Risky.”

Severus slipped an arm around Lily as they turned toward the caldron and considered its contents.

“Amazing, really, that we didn’t ruin it,” Lily said, craning her neck to look at Severus.

“Not really,” Severus said, “it’s much more tolerant once you add a stabilizing… something.”

“That isn’t nice,” Lily whined.

“Oh, I’ll tell eventually. Why are you complaining, anyway, I practically did all the work for you.”

“Well… I just think that if I’m going to be sharing, you should do the same.”

“Oh, you know I’ll share anything you want, Lily, I… I… L-l-l… well, you are my best friend.”
