Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
New dorms
Not my property, of course. That'd be JKR, who's god-like of course.
Beta'd by: Meagan Thanks so much!!!
After the Feast that night, Ginny crept into Hermione's room. "This'll be so much easier tommorow when you're in the other dorm." Ginny said, putting a spell on the area around them so the other girls wouldn't hear as Hermione grabbed a potion and a knife.
"I know." Ginny held out her arm and Hermione slit the redhead's wrist. She lowered her mouth to the wound and drank. Ginny hissed at the slight pulling sensation.
After a few moments, Hermione pulled back. "Thanks Gin." She sealed the wound with a quick spell and gave Ginny a blood replenishing potion.
"No problem. Now I need to write to Charlie in the morning though." She stated, more to herself than Hermione.
"You do that."
"Good night, Herms."
"'Night Ginny." Ginny left the older girl's dorm and went to her own.
The next day, durning her free period, Hermione was moving all of her belongings into the new dorm she shared with Draco.
"Hello, Granger."
"Morning, Malfoy." Hermione gave a small smile. "How's your morning so far?"
"Fine. Kinda boring. Oh, this is Blasie Zabini. Blaise, Hermione Granger."
"You do know my first name, I'm impressed." Hermione smirked slightly. "Hello." She smiled at Blaise.
"Blaise'll be here a lot, so you know."
"Hermione?"
"Hey Ginny." She pushed open the portrait for the younger girl. "Ginny, Blaise Zabini and Draco Malfoy. Guys, Ginny Weasley. She or Dean will probably be here a lot. More than Harry and Ron I think." She and Ginny grinned at each other.
"Somehow, I think there's a story there."
"There is, but I'm not telling you right now. Maybe some other time."
"That's the second time you've said that, Granger. It's annoying.
"You'll live, Malfoy." She shrugged.
Harry and Ron didn't come to see her in her new dorm all that day. Dean came back with Ginny after dinner. The two of them, Hermione, Draco, and Blaise sat peacefully together and worked on homework for a couple hours. For the most part, they discussed trivial things, never getting too close to topics that would cause them to fight.
Draco walked with Blaise back to the Slytherin dungeons and Dean went to Hermione's room with her. "So, you told Charlie Weasley what you are?" He asked.
"Yes. I ended up having to tell him because I cried on his shoulder. Ginny told you what happened, right?"
"Yeah. Are you okay, now?"
"Yes." She reached for the knife and potion in her bedside table drawer. "Ready?"
"Hungry?" He smiled, holding out his arm.
"Very." She slit his wrist and drank. Just like with Ginny, she pulled back, healed his wrist, and gave him a blood replenishing potion. "Thanks Dean."
"No problem. Come on, Gin's waiting on me so we can go." Together, they left Hermione's room.
"Are you sure you're okay?" She asked.
"We always are, Mione."
"Stop worrying so much." Dean and Ginny both answered. "Come on, before Ron freaks out more." The two of them left for Gryffindor Tower.
"That wasn't so bad, now was it?" Hermione asked when Draco got back. She was lounging on the couch, reading a book.
"No, I guess not. But you know it won't be nearly as easy with Potter and Weasley."
"I know. But thank you for trying with Ginny and Dean."
"Sure sure. Good night, Granger."
"'Night Malfoy."

It was two weeks before Harry and Ron actually cane to her dorm. Draco had a class, but Blaise didn't.
"Hey Blaise. The others getting on your nerves again?" Hermione asked, finding him sitting in an arm chair doing homework.
"Of course they are. Quick question, what's this symbol mean?" He held out his Ancient Runes homework.
"Blood." She looked at it quickly.
"Thanks."
"Oh, Harry, Ron, this is Blaise Zabini. Blaise, Harry and Ron." Hermione introduced them.
"Hello." Blaise nodded politely.
"Hermione, you aren't seriously civil all the time with Slytherins are you?" Ron demanded.
"I am."
"Hermione, you can't be serious! They can't be trusted." Harry insisted.
"Out, now. Both of you. Blaise was being civil to you and you're both being arses. I told you to behave and you're not. Get out." She potined to the door.
"You're not defending this... snake, are you?" Ron demanded.
"This snake is one of my friends. Leave now, or I'll make you." Knowing she could, they left. "Sorry about them, Blaise." She turned to the dark Italian.
"One of your friends, am I?"
"Yes. Aren't you?"
"If you want me to be."
"Good."
"What about Draco then?"
"I'm working on that. I do want to be his friend, Blaise." She stated, sitting across from him. "But there's a kind of a mental block there, preventing me."
"Can't get over the past?"
"He's always been such an arse to me. I want to know why, actually." She explained.
"I can't tell you that."
"I wasn't going to ask you, I intend to ask him."
"Ask who what?"
"Hey Malfoy. Ask you, actually, why you've always been such an arse to me." She turned to him.
"I was wondering when that was going to come up. It's Potter's fault really. He refused my friendship, then became friends with you. I already didn't like you because you're muggle born and that's the way I was raised. It made me hate you more because Potter chose a mudblood over me."
"You're a selfish prat." Hermione stated bluntly.
"Yes, yes I am." She couldn't help it, the smug look on his face just made her laugh hysterically.
"Sorry, the look on your face was too funny." She explained, still giggling a little.
"Whatever you say, Granger."
"Hermione."
"What?"
"My name's Hermione."
"Then I'm Draco."
"Okay. Oh, you missed Harry and Ron, by the way. They were here just a few minutes ago."
"I saw them. They looked angry, what'd you do?"
"She defended me." Blaise spoke up. "And then kicked them out. I'm surprised they listened to you actually."
"I'm not. She's never hit you has she?"
"That was once in third year, Draco." Hermione rolled her eyes.
"It still hurt." He insisted.
"Sure it did." Blaise smirked.
A/N: Just so you know, there's a prequel and a sequel to this one. So if I don't completly explain something right now, it will get explained another time. Also, I'm sorry this update has taken so long. This time, my only excuse is lazyness. I'll try to get them out faster from now on.
