Chapter 1
/telepathy/
Today was the day he would see her again. It was September 1, and Hogwarts would run with children again – some old and some new
Severus was getting ready for the day…night…whatever, and as he stared nervously into the mirror, he thought, ‘Today I will see her. If she’s still existing in this world, that is. Maybe…It doesn’t matter. Today I will know.”
Severus stared longingly out the window, spelled to see only the outside. It was going to be a beautiful night – the summer flowers still in bloom. Severus just stood there looking out -- remembering how his sister loved flowers and the night sky. He had lost track of time when suddenly, Albus called through the floo.
“Severus, my boy, the children will be arriving soon. Best be on your way to the great hall,” Albus said. You could hear the twinkle in his voice. It was as if he knew what today meant to him.
‘It’s impossible. The old coot couldn’t know. Could he?’
“I’m coming Albus,” Severus said in an emotionless voice. He then schooled his face into its usual indifference, and left for the Great Hall.

Everyone had arrived and all the students had been seated.
‘She is…gone,’ Severus thought unhappily.
The Headmaster stood up – causing everyone to hush themselves for the opening speech. They – including Severus – never had any idea what he truly intended.
“I know that now would be the time that I would begin my speech, however, you see, there is one more person that needs to be sorted. Unfortunately, she seems to be running a little late. She should be here right…about…now.”
As soon as those words popped out of his mouth, the doors of the Great Hall opened, and in walked a cloaked figure. She inclined her head and stared straight at the head table. Her black cloak and hood gave the room cause for fear since death eaters were still amok. They knew Voldemort no longer existed. He died last summer; a very anti-climatic end if I do say so myself. However, Severus looked on with something akin to hope – though no one but Harry and Albus seemed to notice.
“Sorry I’m late professor but Storm over here thought it would be funny to get lost while I wasn’t looking,” She said in an American accent dripping with sarcasm. Meanwhile, a beautiful silver gray wolf walked out – shyly or cautiously, it was hard to tell – from behind the girl. The wolf whimpered, and it looked as if the girl understood, because she just nodded in its direction.
“That is quite all right child, but might I request that you come and take a seat so as you may be sorted?”
“Oh, but before I do…” She said in manner that sounded as if she was up to something. “Shouldn’t I be introduced to the student body?”
“Oh of course, how could I forget?” “Everyone please welcome our new student, Zohra Snape.”
At the same time he spoke her name, she removed her hood. Everyone was stunned not only because she was a gorgeous girl, but also because she was a gorgeous girl that was a Snape and most likely related to the professor.
However, no one was sure until she said, “What, brother, shocked to see me in flesh and blood.”
That’s when everyone turned their attention toward Severus. He was standing up, chair toppled over, his face with the most undisguised look of shock. That shocked the students, but what shocked them even more was that all of a sudden, he fainted. In the first time in the whole of Hogwarts, Severus Snape fainted.
“Wow! Didn’t think that showing up at Hogwarts would really make my brother faint. Ha-ha. I guess there is a first time for everything, huh? Who would have thought?”
“Well, yes. I suppose I should awaken him now. Enervate!” Said Albus
Everyone could hear the hurried movement as Snape quickly stood up and righted himself as if he hadn’t fainted.
/stop thinking that no one noticed, brother. Moreover, don’t think that you didn’t faint, because you did. Ha-ha/ Zohra told him telepathically.
/Quiet you sister of mine! You and I are going to have a long talk about this. / Severus mind talked in a calm angry voice.
/Of course, brother. / Zohra said. He could practically hear her laughing despite her having already left his mind.
“Well now that that’s over with…Zohra please take a seat and let the sorting hat sort you, my dear.”
“Right.”
The worst part was that no one noticed the evil glint in her eye but Severus.
‘Oh no, I’m not going to like this. I just know it. Zohra? What are you up to little sister? What are you up to?’ Severus thought anxiously.
