This picks up right where I left off. Its a little shorter.
The compartment door opened, no one bothered to look up, figuring it would be James wearing a defeated look and possibly a bruised cheek from further slapping. But when nothing was said and no one completely entered the compartment Sirius finally looked up and much to his disappointment it wasn't James. He would have preferred his fan girls even, but no, it was his darling younger brother, trying to get Lanie's attention without attracting anyone's attention.
"Tell me brother, what brings you to socialize with blood traitors, mother would be so disappointed, we don't want that now do we," Sirius shot at his brother, the two were glaring intently at one another only to be pulled from each others attention by Lanie who go up and pushed Regulus out into the aisle shutting the door behind her. This bothered Sirius even more than actually being in the presence of his brother, he wanted to badly to go punch Regulus square in face and steal Lanie away. She'd never have that though, it would just be another reason to hate him.
"You shouldn't have come in there," Lanie said as soon as the door shut completely behind her.
"I wanted to make sure you were alright, I've been looking for you since the lights came back on," Regulus was blushing a bit as he stared at his shoes, he was much more reserved than his brother at times, trust that he had his wild moments as well a fine example being…
"That's sweet, but really I can defend myself perfectly," Lanie was about to go into a rant about being independent, not some damsel in distress, but she was cut of as Regulus pushed her, a bit roughly, backwards and into the compartment door making it shudder as he crashed his lips down on hers.
He and Lanie both knew that Sirius would be going into a fit in the compartment which made their kiss so much better. It didn't last long though, because the compartment door was opened from the inside making them crash in onto the floor. Sirius proceed to lift Regulus off Lanie and literally throw him out into the aisle before shutting the door again, leaving Lanie to pick herself up off the floor.
Peter was nice enough to help her up, Remus was distractedly staring out the window trying to guess how long he had till sunset. James and Lily would hopefully come back soon, Remus would need James especially because Lanie was planning on killing Sirius any minute.
"Black, you're a bloody git, ya know that," Lanie fumed, arms crossed over her chest as she slumped in her seat beside Remus. Much to her surprise Sirius stayed quiet, not protesting or defending himself that took all the fun of it.
Lanie scowled at the ceiling, not having anything better to do, there was no relaxing Remus at this point and no one was talking. James and Lily had been gone a while at this point. Sirius was focusing on Lanie, trying to figure out what it was about her that go to him so much, because she truly did get to him. She was the only girl that ever really could.
The train slowed as it pulled into Hogsmeade station, Remus seemed very relieved at this point and even offered Lanie his arm to escort her off the train. Lanie spotted Lily up ahead on the platform talking to a 5th year Ravenclaw girl, James was no where to be seen.
"Seems she managed to lose him again," Lanie commented to Remus as we both scanned the crowd for James. "Maybe you guys should take off now, it won't take long to sneak threw town then you won't have to worry about making it in time."
"She's got a point," Peter agreed appearing on her other side. Sirius stood slightly in front of the small group, trying to locate James with little luck.
"Prongs won't be very forgiving if we go without him," Sirius did agree in his mind that going now was safe, but he didn't want him best mate mad at him for taking off without him. Lanie rolled her eyes, knowing that James would understand but didn't push it, Remus on the other hand seemed to disagree with Sirius and after giving Lanie a parting kiss on the forehead started sneaking away from the crowd of students. Peter fallowed him, knowing that he shouldn't leave Remus to go by himself. Lanie was giving Sirius a rather stern look as the kept looking for James and trying to ignore her which didn't seem to be working.
"Black, you have to go, if Mooney doesn't get there in time you'll need to be there," Lanie urged, giving him a shove pushing most of her body against his pulling him from his search. This was the first that she'd really touched him since sometime at the end of last year, true it wasn't a nice sort of touching but none the less their bodies were in contact and it gave Sirius that unusual fluttering feeling in his stomach. Butterflies if you will, yes Sirius Black getting butterflies in his stomach from some girl, which meant she was more to him than just some girl.
"Alright, Alright, if it'll make you happy," Sirius shot her his award winning smile, the one that was supposed to make her swoon and fall into his arms, flutter her eyelashes and make her beg for him to kiss her. No such affect occurred, she did how ever shot him a cheeky smirk, that was new, she never looked at him like that before.
"Go," she urged again, and ducked off into the crowd to continue the search for James that she was forcing Sirius to abandon. She found him eventually, luckily before he got into a carriage and sent him off after the rest of the marauders after explaining that they'd taken off to the Shrieking Shack already.
As expected Lily bothered Lanie all threw dinner about where the marauders were, which Lanie countered with asking why she wondered where James was. This shut Lily up instantly and she didn't bother to ask where they were again much to Lanie's relief. The marauders had made it safely to the shack for Remus's transformation. Lanie was left alone as Lily led the first years up to the common room with the other prefects. She wondered the hall a bit before finally deciding that she'd wasted enough time.
She was happy to find that Lily had go to bed before she got there and the common room was for the most part deserted. Rather than go up to the dorm she shared with Lily, Lanie climbed the boys steps and let herself into the room that the marauders shared. On full moon nights she would stay in their room waiting for them to get back, she'd help clean up any injuries and she always wanted to make sure Remus was alright.
Lanie drifted off to sleep on James's bed, usually she wouldn't sleep, she'd stay up the whole night waiting, but they started classes tomorrow. The door slammed up against the wall, startling Lanie awake, James and Peter were helping Remus into the room and onto his bed. He didn't look any worse than usual, a cut here and there, which Lanie immediately started tending to much to Remus's protests. He was in nothing more than his boxers, making him extremely uncomfortably to have Lanie on his bed moving around him the way she was. This didn't bother Lanie in the least, she figured he should be used to it by now, they'd been doing this for years.
James and Peter had left and were now back, they were almost completely carrying Sirius who had a considerable gash in his side. Lanie didn't seem to notice them even enter the room and continued fussing over Remus. James seemed rather annoyed that his best mate was laying bleeding on his bed and their 'medic' was fussing over little cuts on his other best mate.
"Lanie, a bit of help over here," James called as he examined the gash a bit more, the bleeding wasn't slowing much which made him nervous. Sirius didn't seem very fazed by it, aside from being weakened, he didn't see it as a bit deal.
"In a minute," Lanie still hadn't looked up from Remus, so she was clueless as to Sirius's current state.
"No, Kit, now," James called a bit more pleading in his voice, and his use of her nickname caused her to get up from Remus immediately and appear at James's side.
"Bloody hell," Lanie mumbled out, springing into action to try and stop the bleeding, giving orders to James to get the things she needed. It took quiet a bit of effort and some clever bandaging to stop the bleeding and keep it stopped, Remus must have got him pretty good.
Sirius was in a sort of daze, it didn't hurt much so he wasn't sure what the big deal was with this 'cut' that he hadn't even seen. But rather than focus his attention on the fact that he was bleeding he focused it on the person fixing him up. Yes, even while bleeding all over the place Lanie's touch gave him those butterflies in his stomach and he couldn't help but simply stare at her as she took care of him. It thrilled him to no end to have her this close to him, even under these circumstances, she was kneeling beside him on his bed, caring for him.
His joy was cut short when she forced him to sit up and he now felt the pain in his side, and he was in no way pleased with Remus at the moment. He'd never be mad at him though, he didn't even know what he was doing when he did it, and Sirius had wanted to be there. Lanie proceeded to wrap a bandage completely around his chest to keep pressure, to do this she had to wrap her arms completely around him several time to use the whole bandage. She thought little of it, but this only made the butterflies in his stomach worse and he happily forgot the pain in his side.
"All finished," she said getting up from his bed. James had gone to take a shower, Peter was passed out on his bed as was Remus. Sirius layed back, resting his hands behind his head, stretching out his chest, trying to look impressive, it was an impressing sight. He was built, that’s for sure, but Lanie took no notice instead she checked on Peter without waking him up and went back over to Remus. This was disappointing to Sirius, she wasn't paying him a lick of attention, he figured he had to be bleeding for her to even take note of him.
"Black what do you think your doing?" Lanie asked, sounding rather angry as Sirius was digging in the trunk at the end of his bed.
"We have classes," Sirius started, glance at the clock, "in about 2 hours, and I don't think I'll get up if I go to sleep." He said in a duh tone.
"Right," Lanie scoffed, "because you're really concerned with classes" she chimed sarcastically. "Get back in bed you're not going anywhere for a few days," she said in a serious tone, putting herself between him and his trunk. He got those butterflies again as she looked right into his eyes, he could have simply listened to her and gotten back in bed. But this was always the part where he said something incredibly stupid and pissed her off, in this case when she was actually showing she cared for him a bit. He took a slightly aggressive step forward, brushing her hair behind her ear and leaned in brushing his cheek against. She felt an involuntary shiver go done her spine as his hot breath hit her neck and his lips nearly brushed her earlobes.
"Only if you come with me," he breathed huskily, not moving his cheek from hers. But there it was, Padfoot's Incredibly Stupid Saying of the Day (PISS'D). Lanie punched him hard on the side of his chest that wasn't hurt, making him pull away and gently rub the spot where she struck him. She glared at him but didn't say anything, she simply stormed from the room. She hated the fact that half of her actually wanted to, but she mentally slapped herself, she wouldn't be just another girl one of those girls.
