Asking
Harry and Ron
"Potter, Weasley? If it would not be too much trouble, I wish to speak with you on the Quidditch pitch at the end of classes."
Harry Potter was in shock, Draco Malfoy being polite, cordial, even? Merlin knew Malfoy didn't have a polite bone in his body. "What do you want, Malfoy? Whatever it is, I can tell by your tone, we won't want to do it."
"Look, Potter..."{Calm, Draco, they won't help if you insult them.}"I really need your assistance, gents, and I would be most grateful if you would at least hear me out before you refuse."
At this point, Ron, who had been in shock since the conversation had started without an insult, snapped back to reality. "Who are you and what did you do with the ferret?"
"Don't call me that! I'm trying to be polite here. Don't make this any harder than it already is."
"Listen, ferret, we don't want..."
"Ron, wait a minute. I want to hear what has Draco Malfoy being polite. We'll see you on the pitch at the end of classes today."
"But, Harry…!"
Harry gave Ron a look that would rival any that Molly Weasley had ever given to her children. Ron promptly shut up.
"Thank you, Potter. I will see you then." Draco left quickly, not wanting to push his luck.
"Harry, why'd you agree to meet him? It's probably just a set-up to embarrass us some more."
"I'm curious and he really seems to want our help. Just think about it like this, Ron; if he really needs our help and we give it, he'll owe us both a favor. If not, we'll be anticipating whatever scheme he has in store."
"Good point, mate. Didn't think of it that way. Hmm…Malfoy owing us a favor. I like the sound of that."
Little did the young men know in order to get their 'favor', they would have to do something that would be utterly repulsive to them. They would have to help Draco Malfoy court their best friend.
