Chapter Two
Harry flew about the hospital, running potions and food to the patients he was in charge of.
It had been four weeks sence he had made the whispered confession to Draco. Not much had changed. Only a few more patients where fully recovered. Harry had spent his evening talking silently at Draco, about what ever happoned to be on his mind at that time. Draco still remained the perfect stone statue on his all white bed.
There where roomers starting to grow among the patients and their healers. Harry turned a deff ear to them. Draco was the only thing keeping his sanity, even if he was oblibious to his curent usefullness. It didn't matter though. His breathing was the only thing Harry needed in retern.
A week later a cry of shock awoke the sleeping occupants of the hospital wing. Harry jolted up from the edge of Draco's bed and flew through the curtains, heading toward the sound. Other healers where starting to make there way towards the commotion. Poppy pulled open the curtain around Hermione's bed, her face strained.
"She just woke up.."
Harry quickly pushed his way in to Hermione's bed side. His remaining best friend was looking wildly around the room in fear, Lupin at her bedside using spells to calm her. Poppy walked up next to Harry. "She doesn't remember anything. She only remembers getting a letter to Hogwarts."
Harry choked starring through the wall in-front of him. "Is there anything that can be done?"
"Once she is calm we will try and perform some memory unlocking charms on her but there are no promises. Even if that works she will need extensive therapy when she remembers. Once the trauma sets in."
Harry nodded.
"Grab some calming potions from the stores Mr. Potter."
Harry quickly moved way, grateful for the distraction. He dreaded having to tell hermione what had happened to Ron. He was barely able to handle thinking about it himself. But with Hermione's background with the red head...
Harry pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the slowly disappearing potions stock. They were going to need a restock soon but with Snape badly injured....
'When it rains, it pours.' Harry thought, palming some small blue bottles. He took them back and helped Lupin administer them. Once Hermione had fallen into a drug induced sleep the crowd started to dissipate, leaving Harry and Lupin alone.
"We honestly didn't think she would wake up."
Harry nodded. "I don't know which is worse though."
Lupin looked down at his hands. "It'll work out, Harry. The worst is over."
Harry laid a gentle hand on Hermione's limp one. "I hope so."
