Chapter 5
Chapter 5 Severus
Loki hurried back to the inn, his heart beating a mile a minute. In his mind he always pictured himself as the dominant, the one protecting and caring for the sub, but if what just happened was any indication he wasn’t going to be the Dom. This didn’t make Loki as upset as he thought he should be.
His mother was still sitting with the sandy haired stranger when he entered. Not caring she was talking to someone, or the fact they were in public, Loki practically slide on his knees to her and placed his head on her lap, his arms wrapped around her, it was exactly what he used to do when he was younger and afraid. Sheena knowing the signs, quickly shifted into worried mother mode, and began checking for signs of injury, finding none she asked him what was wrong. Loki wouldn’t answer, he simply shook his head no. Worried about her son, she excused herself from Remus and guided her shaking son to his room. Once inside Loki dived for the bed and pulled the covers over him.
“Dear, you have to tell me what’s bothering you, otherwise I can’t help.”
“Can’t help… not like Ze’ev… not a protector,” was Loki’s muffled reply.
Understanding dawned on Sheena. Her son, who was taught to be an Alpha by Ze’ev had found out he wasn’t. The question now was how, the only way for that to happen was if a more dominant male had staked a claim and Loki’s wolf had accepted.
“Oh, Hun, there is nothing wrong with being a submissive. Camron’s a sub and we both know he has Sam wrapped around his finger. So what if it isn’t what you thought was going to happen, it rarely is. To find a mate is wonderful, no matter the dynamics of the relationship, and to think you found him on the first day of your first search. Now why don’t you come out and tell me about him.”
Sheena’s word calmed Loki and slowly he climbed out from under the covers. He was still nervous but as he told his mom about what happened he felt less and less anxious.

Not too far away, Loki’s dark stranger was tracking him. At last he made it to the pub and slipped in. He didn’t spot his future mate but he could smell the scent went up rather then out of the inn, so he took a seat close to the stairs and waited. He had waited twenty years; a few more minutes wouldn’t hurt.
