Where's Ginny?
When Hermione and Ron entered the kitchen it was to find Molly Weasley in a tirade. Her face was a shade brighter than her already fiery red hair and the two tried to back out of the kitchen before she noticed them. She was slamming pots and pans around and screaming at the twins, Fred and George, who tried not to flinch as the kitchen equipment, flew past their heads.
"Where have you two been?" she screeched when she saw the two trying to back out of the kitchen with dumfounded looks on their faces.
"We went to register with the Ministry for the Marriage Lottery," Ron said. “I told you before we left where we were going!”
"Where is your sister? I have been looking for her all day and I can't find her! Did she go with you?" Molly demanded. She hated not knowing where each of her children were at all times.
"I haven't seen her today. Just Mione and I went." Ron said hoping that his mother wouldn't start throwing things at him also.
"I saw her this morning, Mrs. Weasley. She was here when the paper arrived. She didn’t mention to me that she was going anywhere today." Hermione said trying to be helpful.
"Where is Harry? Did he go with you?" she demanded. Since he was eleven years old and re-entered the Wizarding world, Molly had thought of Harry as another one of her children.
Hermione looked over at George. "He left before we did. He said that he wasn't going to register."
"Not register! Not register!" she screeched at them. "How can he not register? He will loose his wand!"
All four of the young adults in the room flinched as dishes again started flying and crashing to into the walls and onto the floor. Nobody wanted to be on Molly Weasley's bad side.
"He said that the Ministry could have his wand, that he was done making sacrifices for them. He was not going to marry a witch of their choice".
"That boy has lost his mind! You cannot go against the Ministry of Magic! Where did he go? Do you suppose that Ginny is with him? It would be just like her to follow him off somewhere! What am I going to do with that girl!" she cried to herself.
Nobody wanted to answer her questions and send her off into another tirade. They all looked at her in fear.
"I will go upstairs and see if I can find him," Ron said as he quickly backed out the door.
Fred watched his brother sneaking out of the door. He knew that he was to far from the door to safely sneak out of it with him. "Chicken!" he mouthed to his youngest brother without his mother seeing. The last thing he wanted was his mother to see him tormenting her little “Ronniekins”.
Ron bit back a grin and raced up the stairs before his mother could catch him. He didn't know where Harry was, but searching for him was a lot better than ducking flying dishes and his mother’s anger. As Ron raced up the stairs he heard another stack of dishes hitting the wall. "Frederick Weasley, you immediately go and find your sister! And don't come back until you do!" he heard her scream just seconds before he heard the pop from someone apparating out of the kitchen.
"George, you and Hermione go and look for Harry! Drag him back here by his hair if you have to, but immediately get him back here! Who does that boy think he is, the bloody savior of the Wizarding World?"
George and Hermione immediately jumped up and raced out of the door. When Molly was in one of her rages, they tended to forget that they were nineteen and twenty-one respectively, and not still teenaged students at Hogwarts. Hermione wondered if Molly would ever stop bossing them around.
"Should we try Diagon Ally?" George asked her?
"Anything is better than here!" she said as they apparated away.
When they landed in Diagon Ally they both looked around. “Where do you suppose he would be?” George wondered out loud.
“I doubt that he would be here. He hates being around people like this. He would go somewhere quiet where people wouldn’t notice him.”
“Yeah, but if he was really serious about leaving, then he would need to get some money from his vault. Lets start there. He can’t leave with any money.”
“Good point,” she conceded.
“So you and Ron registered today then?” George said looking at the beautiful witch beside him.
“Yeah, did you?”
“Not yet, I was going to this afternoon before mom went off in her tirade. Maybe we can stop by there before we go home?”
“Yeah, alright. I wondered who we will be paired with. They told Ron and I it would be a week before we knew.”
George didn’t know who he would be paired with, but he knew that he would give his last breath for it to be Hermione. “I hope Ron gets someone like Luna. He deserves to spend his life having a witch drive him insane like he has done to us!” George said instead.
Hermione playfully hit George in the arm. “George! I happen to like Luna! She is not that bad once you get to know her!”
George just shook his head. He couldn’t imagine spending his life with someone who was always lost in her own little world. Especially when that said somebody occasionally came back to reality only to say the most off the wall thing and leave again. She was definitely a candidate for St. Mungo’s loony bin!
They walked up the steps to Gringotts Wizarding Bank and opened the door. A goblin approached them as they entered. “Can I help you, sir, miss?”
“We are looking for a friend of ours, Harry Potter. We were wondering if he has been in here today?” Hermione asked.
“I am afraid that I can not give out that kind of information to you. Gringotts prides itself on its discretion and we would not stay in business long if we gave out personal information on all of our clients.” He stated.
“Oh come on, we just want to know if he is here,” George argued.
“I can tell you that he is not here now, but that is all that I can tell you. Good day to both of you.” He said and walked away.
“Well, that was less than helpful.” Hermione said.
“Lets go to Weasley’s Wizarding Weazes. Maybe he stopped in there today. They can’t tell us it’s none of our business there!” he said as he opened the door up for Hermione to walk through first.
“How is business going, anyway?”
“Great! We just hired another employee. We will be opening a new store in Hogsmeade next month. That one will be my project. Fred will stay here. We hope to keep expanding.” He said with pride in his voice.
“Oh George, I am so proud of you guys!” Hermione cried as she wrapped him in an exuberant hug. “You guys have done great!”
George took in a deep breath as he held the witch in his arms. He could smell the lavender scent she used in her hair and he felt himself harden at her own unique scent. He couldn’t be this close to Hermione without his body responding this way.
Pulling himself together he laughed out loud. “Thanks, Mione!”
The walked arm in arm towards his store enjoying the sunny day. When they reached the store there was a huge commotion going on in front of it.
“Look, its Harry and Ginny!” Hermione exclaimed.
“And mum and Ron and Fred. I wonder what is going on?” he could see that his mother had “the look” on her face and was getting ready to blow again. He hurried over to them. “Lets take this inside guys,” he said not wanting a spectacle in front of the shop to drive customers away.
“Genevra Molly Weasley! How could you!” her mother demanded as they were herded inside the shop. Fred pushed customers out the door as George turned and locked the door when the last one left.
“Mum, I am an adult! I don’t need your permission!” she cried to her mother.
“While you live in my house you will follow my rules!” Molly Weasley screamed at her daughter.
“I don’t live in your house, I live in Harry’s house!” she screamed back.
Everyone in the room turned to look at Ginny with their mouths hanging open. They couldn’t believe that Ginny would talk like that to her mother.
“What has gotten into you? First you sneak off and marry Harry without my consent, and then you talk like this to me?” Molly put her hands to her face and wept.
The room exploded then. “What?” they all exclaimed.
“Did you just say “Marry Harry”? Ginny, did you really just marry Harry?” Hermione asked in wonder. She knew that Ginny had been head over heals in love with Harry the majority of her life, but to sneak off and marry him without her friends and family was a shock to her.
“We didn’t want to be torn apart by this new marriage law. We knew if we told anyone it could either be stopped or dad could get into trouble for not stopping it and going against the marriage law.”
“Mrs. Weasley, you know that I love Ginny. I couldn’t risk loosing her.” Harry said quietly wrapping her arms around Molly Weasley.
“Oh Harry, you know I love you like a son. There is nothing I want more than to see you and Ginny married, but I would have like to have seen my only daughter married.”
“Minerva McGonagal performed the ceremony at Hogwarts this morning for us. We couldn’t risk anyone trying to stop us,” Harry said.
“You don’t think that we could have worked this out?”
“Mum, I’m pregnant.” Ginny said.
"Where have you two been?" she screeched when she saw the two trying to back out of the kitchen with dumfounded looks on their faces.
