A Writer's Response
This isn't really a new chapter. I felt that one of the reviews I have gotten for this story deserved a little recognition.

Sorry, but that was just horrible. I know that you were going for angst, but this was just maudlin plot far from the shining themes of hope and strength, character and integrity exhibited in Rowling's stories. I'm not saying this to be contrary or cruel, simply that there is potential in your writing, but you have used it to horrify instead of inspire. Every good story, I believe, despite all obstacles or hardships, should teach and uplift us and motivate us to improve ourselves and our relationships with others. There is hope and love and goodness. I would love to read that from you. Perhaps you have written other stories? I'll go see. All the best to you.

My dear ShadowedHand,
Let me take a moment here to thank you for your review. I love feed back in any form from those who deem to read my stories. With that done, allow me to state my piece in response and then we shall bury the matter and think no more of it.
I realize that Harry Potter has a hidden uplifting message and the J.K. Rowling created a world comprised of "shining themes of hope and strength, character and integrity".
What I write is fanfiction, of this you are probably aware. That means that what I write is fiction based on a work that I am a fan of and that inspires me.
That being said I move on to the true basis for my response.
As you have no doubt noticed by now- if you did indeed look for my other stories- I write a great deal of death fics. Many of these can be considered maudlin. It is my style of writing nothing more.
As each of us are different, we are each entitled to different opinions and perspectives. That you find my writing style lacking or sub-par in some way is of course yours. We are also entitled to different beliefs as to what makes a good story. I prefer the darker tales, both in fandom and in original fiction. It is not surprising then that I would write on a darker more depressing note.
I have just recently taken a moment or two to look over your stories. I find them not to my liking but you do display talent and that is what matters. Due to my opinion, I could do as you have done but that isn't my personality and you don't see me blindsiding you with a review saying that you have desecrated the very meaning behind the original works that you are basing your works from.
If to you I and my works are "horrifying" then so be it. That is your opinion and there will be no changing it. I regret this but I will lament the loss of one reader when those who matter most to me approve of my style of writing and the literary creations I have published to date.
I thank you for your honesty on how this story appeared to you and wish you a good day as well as much luck with your next undertaking in this fandom.
Ever the horribly horrifying,
~Charli a.k.a. Mindovermadness
