Girlfriend

Pictures of Hermione's outfits can be found here: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b372/habibi-light/BandHermione.jpg

I had nothing to do with the art; I simply threw them together. Find the dollmaker I used here: http://www.thedollpalace.com/dollmaker/cartoon/gothic/dress-up.php#
(You might need an account, I'm not sure. I've had one so long it's hard to remember anymore, but it's free to sign up if you're interested, and they don't send you anything annoying.)

The Talent Show was a two-night affair, and Blaise and Pansy were the opening act. Draco, who'd seated himself in the same place again this night as well, turned his head and tried to pretend he didn't know them. Hannah Abbott and her assistant from the night before were back, except that it was the assistants time (Draco could not remember her name, for the life of him,) and they were jumping rope. Quite impressively, too, but not as impressively as the hula hoops.

"Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, and Ronald Weasley, from Gryffindor!" Flitwick bellowed out as loudly as he could, and Draco started. He still hadn't forgotten the humiliation he'd suffered because of their stupid 'song' and now they were back? What now? Were they hoping he'd be the one with the clydesdale?

There was none of the pomp or show from the night before, but Hermione took the lead microphone this time. She was just as pretty as the night before, except less heavily made up. She wore a striped shirt and a pair of rolled up jeans with interested belts, and a pair of boots. The affect, when one compared her to the usual buck-toothed, fuzzy-haired know-it-all she usually was, was still dazzling.

"Hey, hey, you, you, I don't like your girlfriend. No way, no way. I think you need a new one. Hey, hey, you, you, I could be your girlfriend." The song started loud and angry, and Draco was blown away by the fact that the stupid know-it-all mudblood could sing.

"Hey, hey, you, you, I know that you like me. No way, no way. No, it's not a secret. Hey, hey, you, you, I want to be your girlfriend

You're so fine I want you mine you're so delicious. I think about you all the time you're so addictive. Don't you know what I can do to make you feel alright (Alright...)" She'd turned around and started singing to Weasley, drawing laughs from the crowd and a blush from her target.

"Don't pretend I think you know I'm damn precious, And hell yeah, I'm the mother fucking-" Here she held up both hands and flicked her middle finger at the entire audience. "-princess. I can tell you like me too and you know I'm right (I'm right...)"

McGonnagal had to leave the room, and Snape would have been horrified at the open-mouthed expression that seemed stuck on his face, had he noticed it through his shock.

"I can see the way, I see the way you look at me. And even when you look away I know you think of me. I know you talk about me all the time again and again. So come over here and tell me what I wanna hear. Better, yet, make your girlfriend disappear. I don't wanna hear you say her name ever again. Because... She's like so whatever. And she could do so much better. I think we should get together now. And that's what everyone's talking about."

She sang the first few lines again, stomping in time with the beat and dancing around, then paused and glared at Weasley, practically shouting the next verse at him.

"In a second you'll be wrapped around my finger. 'Cause I can, 'cause I can do it better. There's no other, so when's it gonna sink in. She's so stupid, what the hell were you thinking?"

More laughter from the audience, and the music trailed off. Hermione took a bow, and herded the other two parts of her trio off the stage.

Flitwick appeared, and cleared his throat. "Voting for your favourite talent can be done tomorrow during breakfast, lunch, and after supper in the Great Hall. The winners will recieve special mention, and a, um," he cleared his throat again, looking nervous. "Encore performance on Friday." It was clear he thought that one of the Golden Trio might win, and then they'd have to listen to those songs again.

"Well, I'm not voting for them," Draco said to no one.

The next morning he found a ballot next to his plate, and eyed the contestants. There was a short blurb about the act next to each name, and as he read over them, he realized that even as humiliating as the songs had been for him, they really had done the best of all the people who'd gotten up. Especially when compared to Blaise and Pansy, and some Ravenclaw who'd done a ventriloquistic act.

Refusing to give credance to the horrible song Potter'd sung about him, he deftly voted for Hermione Granger's song, and was slightly surprised when the ballot disappeared once his mark was made. No taking it back now.

**

"Girlfriend" is an excellent song by Avril Lavigne (check out YouTube for a humorous video XD)
"I Hope You Die" is by The Bloodhound Gang. Neither of these songs belong to me in any way, I just borrowed them for some fun.
