The truth
Chapter 2: (the truth about Harry’s father)
Upon reaching Hogwarts, Harry felt a sense of well being. He was happy to be home. Hogwarts was the only place he ever thought of as a home. It was a castle form the outside but upon entering it was a labyrinth of changing stairwells and dead end hallways, rooms that would appear only when you needed them and passwords locking every dorm. It was amazing, or that’s what Harry and his friends always thought.
“come on Harry, we have to go straight to the Headmasters office.” Sirius told Harry as he carried his godson’s trunk down the long hallway.
“what’s going on, why does Dumbledore want to see me?” Harry asked out of curiosity.
“I’m afraid that I can’t tell you that, but don’t worry you’ll know soon enough.” He assured Harry.

“ah, come in, I’ve been waiting for you. Have a seat, would you like a lemon drop?” the headmaster asked upon Harry and Sirius’s arrival.
“umm, no thinks sir. You wanted to see me?” Harry replied.
“ah, yes. I did, however we are still waiting on one more person, it shouldn’t be long.” Dumbledore said, with a twinkle in his eyes.
Soon after Dumbledore’s comment in walked what Harry assumed was the person that they where waiting for.
“hey Severus, how are you today?” Asked Sirius. He sounded almost nice to Harry, which was surprising considering they never got along.
“fine Sirius, how about your self?”
“good think you.”
“Ok, can you please tell me what’s going on here?” Harry asked a bit nervously.
“ok, Harry but first you have to know that after we tell you this you may become angry but don’t do anything harsh, just hear us out.” at this comment from Dumbledore Harry became even more nervous. “we decided to inform you of this now because we believe that you are now mature enough to know.”
“ok, please can you cut to the chase, I won’t get mad or do anything to harm anyone.” Harry replied
“Harry, James isn’t your biological father.” Dumbledore added before anyone else could.
“Harry he is your father, we weren’t lying to you. He adopted you after Voldemort came to full power to keep you and your mother safe.” Sirius added before Harry could say anything. “and I’m still your godfather.”
Harry opened his mouth to talk as he looked at the three men with confusion. “then who is my dad? Is he still alive? Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” he asked.
“your real dad is alive, he’s been closer than you could ever imagined, in fact he’s sitting in this very room with us.” Dumbledore said still with a twinkle in his eyes.
Harry looked at both Dumbledore and Sirius and thought it over in his mind. “wait, if you’re my godfather.” Harry pointed at Sirius. “and I know you aren’t my father, then…” his voice trialed off.
“yes Harry, I’m your father. I didn’t tell you sooner because I was afraid of what the dark lord might have done. I’ve left his ranks now and if you want, I’m ready to become a father.” Severus said looking at Harry.
Harry didn’t know what to say, how could he, after all this time his dad had been alive and right under his nose. But he thought that professor Snape hated him, he always treated him worse than all of he other students and yet after all this time he was willing to forget all that stuff and start over. To say that Harry was shocked would have been an understatement.
