Here With Me

And I won't go
I won't sleep
I can't breathe
Until you're resting here with me

And I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here with me

(Dido-Here With Me)

Hedwig flew into the room. She landed right on Harry’s knee with a piece of parchment attached to it. Harry grabbed an owl treat from the coffee table and fed her. He stood up and walked over to the window and slowly unrolled the parchment.

I’ll see you soon.

Ginny looked at him expectantly, “Who’s it from?”

“Hermione.” She clammed up right quick. Her blue eyes clouded over.

“You owled her?” she questioned him.

“Yes. She said she’d be here soon. She can’t be that far away. I know it. I can feel it.” He held that piece of parchment harder.

He looked out the window again to see a brunette woman apperate in front of his building. He rushed to the door. “Hermione,” he whispered.

Within seconds he stood face to face with the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her chestnut curls were pulled into a lose ponytail with tendrils framing her face. Her milky skin peeked out of her Muggle clothing. Around her neck was a golden snitch necklace Harry had given her for Christmas their final year at Hogwarts. Her brown eyes burrowed into his green ones.

“Hello Harry.” She bit her lower lip. Gods how he wanted to kiss her, take her upstairs and just shag her silly. He didn’t notice that Ginny was standing behind him. Hermione looked away to Ginny.

Ginny ran to her and hugged as if they hadn’t seen each other in years. “Hi Gin. I went to the Burrow, but Molly said you were here.” She looked at Harry again. He couldn’t stand her looking at him. He knew he wanted her then. He knew he needed her then. It was then he realized that she ran away because of him. He drove her to run. Now here she was with the woman that he was going to marry.

Hermione sensed the tension. When she got his owl, she came as quick as she could. Apparition was a wonderful thing. She could almost hear the desperation in his voice in the words that he wrote her. Desperation, need, love, those were the things she wanted from him. He had told her that he needed her. That one word made her heart soar and ache at the same time.

She bit her lower lip again. “You’re not gonna give me a hug Harry?” she said slyly.

He turned red. Oh gods he wanted to touch her. He wanted to make sure that she was real. Instead, he just gathered her bags and took them upstairs to his flat.

Ginny turned to Hermione after coming out of the shock of Harry quick exit. “You two have a lot to talk about. I’m going to the Burrow for a couple days. I hope you two can sort out whatever it is that’s come between you.” Ginny waited for Hermione’s reaction and Hermione knew that Ginny had suspicions about her feelings for Harry.

Hermione just smiled. “You’re such a good person Gin. Thank you. I hope we can work things out too.”

Ginny smiled back. She knew that when she came back, everything would change. “Ok, I guess I’ll see you in a three days. Don’t forget we have a fitting on Saturday.”

Hermione sighed. She had just three days to talk to Harry and knowing him, he wouldn’t be ready to talk until her time was up. She would still try her hardest to make him listen. On second thought, no. No. She said what she needed to say and they would have to move on. She had three days to rebuild their friendship. Yes, that’s what she wanted. Friendship. Right?
