Chapter 1 - Empty Halloween Night

Lily didn't bother to stop playing with Mahak, when
the sound of the wards breaking reached her ears. She
didn't flinch at the raised shouts of Death Eaters or
her supposed Husband. A smile broke out on her soft
lips at the sound of her mate's voice above the rest.
Humming softly she picked up her son, slowly dancing
around the soft blue and gold nursery. She hadn't
allowed James to paint the room red and gold like he
had wanted but had allowed him the gold accents after
she chose the light blue colour.

"Just you wait little one, your Daddies here to take
us home. Can you feel him coming my precious one?"
She whispers into her little boy’s ear and she laughed
softly at the boy’s squeal and wide smile. Lily
continued to slowly move about the room, she took out
of hiding the medium-sized bag that held most of her
and Mahak's shrunken belongings. Lily turned just as
the door to the nursery opened, and in walked her
mate, Voldemort.

"Hello Lily." Voldemort says as he leans against the
corner of the door. His red eyes locked on the little
boy held with in the woman’s arms. "I see you are
determined to keep his child." He states as his
features shift from cool and unemotional to anger.

"His child?" Lily questions as she looks down at the
now silent child she held. "I don't understand my
love." She continues as she looks up into the red eyes
she loved so much.

"James's child Lily!" Voldemort roars as he points at
the child in the woman’s arms.

"James's child?" She blinks before glancing at the boy
she held tight. "But he's not Tom! He's yours!" Lily
cries as she takes a step forward towards the man she
loved with all her heart.

"Don't lie to my Lily!" Tom yells out once more as he
finally takes a step into the room. "I saw Ruya's
memories, there is no way that that brat is mine! He
looks nothing like me!" he continues to glare at the
boy as his voice lowers into a snarl as his anger
turns to fury.

"I put a charm on him to resemble James!" Lily’s cries
out as she falls to her knees still holding the now
crying child. "You must believe me Tom, he is yours!"
She begs as tears fall down her cheeks.

"Do you expect me to believe you?" He whispers as he
comes forwards and squats down in front of Lily, his
red eyes almost black in his fury.

"Let me take off the charm Tom and show you what our
son looks like. Please?" She begs as she gets her wand
from the invisible pocket in the side of her pants.
Just as she was about to take the charm off, a quick
pale hand reaches out and takes the wand away.

"Do you really believe that I am going to trust you
now?" Tom says with a shake of his head. "I am sorry
Lily but the child will have to die." As he finishes
his sentence the man raises his wand and quietly says
the words that broke Lily's heart in an instant. She
covered her child as much as she could in the position
that she was in as the bright green light hit both her
and her son, Lily knew no more.

Dumbledore walked slowly through the still house, not
a sound was made, not a creak, a whistle, a rumble,
nothing. The house was dead. He feared that everyone
was as well, including the one year-old boy of James
and Lily Potter. Sighing deeply, he continues to walk
through the bottom level of the house, Lily was nowhere, but he had
found James's lifeless body in the
den. Heading up the stairs, he heads quickly to the
nursery.

What he saw as he walked through the door stunned him.
For lying dead in the middle of the nursery was a
slightly green Lily, before her was a pile of black
robes still slightly smouldering. But what really
stunned the old man was the sleeping child, curled up
near his mother, only a small wound of the shape of a
lightning bolt on his forehead that bled slowly.
Humming softly to himself he softly picks up the
child before heading downstairs and out of the dead
house.

Once outside he hands the child to the huge man that
stood to the right of him. "Here Hagrid, take young
Mr. Potter to his Aunt’s house in Little Winning Surrey,
she lives at number 4 Privet drive." He instructs as
he turns to the elder woman, with a shrewd looking
face, her eyes were sad though.

"He is our last hope." She whispers to Dumbledore as
she watches Hagrid take the sleeping boy away.

"I know Minerva, I know." The old man sighs as he
closes his tired eyes.
