Act One Scene Two

Act One Scene Two

Professor McGonagall had just left the meeting with the headmaster.
“Gentlemen!”
The three boys turned and looked at her.
“I do not appreciate you defiling the house of Gryffindor. This shall not continue. After dinner please go to the infirmary to check if there is any residual spell damage. No more brawls.”
She turned and proceeded to her office. The day was turning out to be a long one. She sat down heavily in her office chair. She let out a long sigh. The house rivalry was one thing, inside the school walls. But outside the walls it was another thing. Voldemort’s forces were growing stronger as were the orders. The continued to have skirmishes here and there, none of them actually making any head way in the war. The situation inside of Hogwarts was like a small snapshot of the situation outside. She reached the bottom drawer of her desk and pulled out a glass and a bottle of scotch. She poured herself a small shot of it and sat back. She knew that for the order to win against Voldemort they needed all the help they could get. Hogwarts was a strong hold but only if all the houses could prosper together. Heck, even her and Severus couldn’t get along anymore. The students house rivalries had seeped into them. First it had only been about quidditch. Then the house cup, students grades and now it got to the point where if they were in the same room they were throwing each other dirty looks. Something drastic needed to happen soon to turn the tide of this war.

She was shaken out of her thoughts when a knock sounded on her office door.
“Come in.”
Cormac McLaggen walked in.
“Professor, could I have a word about a rather personal matter.”
“Of course young man, what is it?”
He was not sitting in front of her desk, wringing his hands.
“Well, I need some advice. I…uh. I am interested in perusing Hermione. But I did not want to venture into a relationship with her without your permission and help. I know you look at her as your own daughter.”
“Yes Mr. McLaggen, I do see Hermione as my own daughter while she is here. I am please that you would take such measures for both her and myself. If you want to impress her focus on capturing her attention with things she likes. Academia. No quidditch. She hates talking about the sport more then necessary. Smarten yourself up, so when you talk to her she doesn’t leave you gaping like a fish. Learn a charm she doesn’t know and teach it to her. Don’t fawn all over her though. If she needs her space give it to her. She will respect you more that way. Also, take things slowly with her. She likes to think things over and analyze them before making decisions. Oh and ask her to the Halloween ball tomorrow night.” She finished with a smile.
“Thank you professor!” Cormac exclaimed. He burst out of her office and headed straight for the library. He wanted to win Hermione’s heart and if it took studying all night then that’s what he would do.

Back in her office McGonagall mulled over this new development.
“Well at least something good shall come of this day.”

Dinner in the great hall had been a tense affair. By the time the six boys had all finally sat down to eat the entire student body was aware of the brawl. Ron plopped himself down next to Harry and across from Hermione.
“Ron, you have got to stop goading the Slytherins. It will only turn out badley.” She started to lecture.
“Yeah for them.” He said through a mouth full of potatoes.
“No for you Ron. The war is outside not here. Stop acting so childish and realize that this” She waved her hands. “is bigger than just Slytherins and Gryffindors.”
“Hermione stop being so dramatic.” Ron told her.
“Harry, you have been quiet. What do you think.”
Harry looked at her uncomfortably. He wasn’t sure what he thought. He was directly involved in the war as well as in the Slytherin VS Gryffindor battle.
“Well, I agree that we can’t punish the Slytherins based on war issues and their parents teachings unless we have proof. But the house rivalry is something that has been going on for a long time. But again yes the war is outside and I am very aware of that fact. I know my place and I know Voldemort will fall. Its only a matter of time. And when he does the real colours of the Slytherins will show.”
Hermione and Ron didn’t know what to make of the situation.
“Well anyways I’ve got to be off. I need to finish the potions paper in the library.”
She picked up her things and began to leave.
“But ‘Mione its not due for another week and a half.” Harry called after her.
She just ignored him and kept walking.

She had been working in the library since dinner and it was almost curfew. Her neck hurt from being hunched over for so long. But she was done and she was happy about it. She pulled out her day planner and checked off that essay. She wanted to get back to her rooms and change before rounds.
“Excuse me.” She heard a male say.
She looked up and saw Cormac standing there. She had never really spoken with him before.
“Yes?” Her inquiring mind wanted to know why he was talking to her.
“I saw you leaving and wanted to know if you wanted to walk back to the common room together?”
“Sure. I have to put my books away and drag Ron out for rounds.”
“Great. Here let me carry your books.”
She obliged him even though she felt uncomfortable with the idea. She had no idea why he wanted to.
“So. What were you working on in there?” He asked her.
“Oh my potions essay. Finished it too.” She smiled at him.
“What was it on?”
“How to make the Wolfsbang potion less physically exhausting and deteriorative to a person after the full moon.”
“And you figured it out?” He sounded in awe.
“Yep. It wasn’t too hard. You just had to pick apart the ingredients and test their interactions with each other. Find the one that was causing the damage and substitute it for another that produces the same effect but with no side effect.”
“Wow. Your bloody brilliant.”
“Ha ha. Thank you but it would have been easy for anyone looking in the right spot.”
They arrived at the fat lady.
“Pumpkin Patch.” He said to her.
They both entered and found the common room bustling with people.
“Wait before you go…I uh wanted to know if you would go to the ball with me tomorrow?” He looked at her hopefully. He had it on good authority she didn’t have a date.
“I…Sure I will.” She said while reaching out for her bags.
“Ok I’ll meet you here at 7 then?”
She nodded. “I have to go find Ron now though.” She scurried off to Harry and Ron whom were playing chess near the fire.

In another part of the castle Draco was once again lounging, but this time in the Entrance Hall. He was waiting to start his rounds for the night. Blaise and Nott had just caught sight of him and we walking towards him.
“Where is she?” He demanded to them.
“Daphne? I dunno mate. I thought you were gonna try and get over her.” Nott said to him.
“Get over her? What do you mean get over? Draco, man when have you ever needed to get over a chick before?”
Both boys were looking at him expectantly.
“I meant Pansy, for rounds. And I don’t need to get over her. I need to get over something. Guys I don’t know whats going on but something has changed. I mean like we are still at this damn school, fighting this damn war, the damn Gryffindors but something has changed. I feel like this isn’t good enough for me anymore. I need something else. Do you understand what I am trying to say?”
Both boys looks at him then Blaise spoke up.
“Your missing something? Maybe you just need to get some. When was the last time you were laid?”
“Last night for your information. I’m fine in that department.”
“Well who was it? It wasn’t Daphne.”
“Pansy.”
Nott laughed. “Well that’s why your missing something.”
“No mate your not getting it. I was there, it felt good I got off. But after there was nothing. Not the usually sated satisfaction. It was missing something.”
“Yeah a better girl.” Blaise chimed in.
“No geez, your not getting it. You know I’ve had my own share of the girls here. I know whos good and whos bad. I know when its good and when its bad. But in the last month or so it hasn’t been the same for me. The chicks don’t notice a thing. It’s all me. Something is missing. That connection you get with your lover. Not your one night stand or fuck toy. Your lover. I need that. I’ve had enough floosies, I want something real. That why I was trying so hard for Daphne. She a Slytherin but she pure, real.”

The two boys just looked at him some more. They didn’t get it. They didn’t come from the house he did. They didn’t see their parents in a loveless marriage. They didn’t see his father cheating on his mother every weekend. They didn’t witness their mothers slowly wasting away with misery. His parents hardly paid any attention to him anymore. Save for academics, quidditch and service to the Dark Lord. They didn’t understand that in the last month he wanted more for the ladies he was with. He wanted a women to love him. He wanted to be special to someone. He wanted someone to be special to him. He had eyes his prospects at school and chosen Daphne. But it seemed fate did not allow him to be with her. Her and her stupid vow of chastity. He wasn’t going to marry her now to have sex and find out if they had that deep physical and emotional connection he was looking for. He need a woman that could satisfy all of his needs; intellectually, emotionally physically and spiritually.

Blaise spotted Colin Creevy rushing down the stairs. He stopped about 10 feet away form them and put a poster up on the wall with a sticking charm.
“What is that little mole doing now?” Nott muttered.
He put up three more posters. The he turned to a group of Ravenclaws and spoke to them. He did the same for the other two groups of students in the hall. The he turned to the Slytherins and paled. He slowly walked towards them. The three of them turned to him and crossed their arms over their chests.
“Yes?” Draco said to him.
“Uh the ball is now a costume ball. Last minute decision by the head boy and girl. Dress according and there is a costume contest.”
After that was said he scurried off.
“Great now I have to find a costume by tomorrow night.” Blaise sounded exasperated.
“Are you not a wizard you oaf. Transfigure one.” Nott shot back.
“What are you guys going as?”
The three males stood in silence. Each contemplating their own costumes.
“I know! I’ll go as Harry Potter and make him look like a fool.” Nott exclaimed.
The boys laughed.
“I’ll go as an Egyptian Pharaoh. It will give me a chance to show off my lovely tanned skin to all the ladies.”
“is that all you think about? Ladies?” Draco asked.
“Well there will be many there. A chance to browse and perhaps decide on a new one for you?”
“Yeah well we will see about that. Curfew starts now you better get back to the dorm.”
The two boys shrugged and left. Draco was left waiting for Pansy. When she wasn’t there twenty minutes later, he left to do rounds with out her.

PinkMartini

Oh and heres my customary dirrty joke. I forgot one last time...geez.
A young teenaged girl was a prostitute and, for obvious reasons, kept it a secret from her grandma. One day, the police raided a brothel and arrested a group of prostitutes, including the young girl. The prostitutes were instructed to line up in a straight line on the sidewalk. Well, who should be walking in the neighborhood, but little old Grandma. The young girl was frantic.

Sure enough, Grandma noticed her young granddaughter and asked curiously, "What are you lining up for, dear?" Not willing to let grandma in on her little secret, the young girl told her that some people were passing out free oranges and that she was lining up for some.

"Mmm, sounds lovely," said Grandma. "I think I’ll have some myself," she continued as she made her way to the back of the line. A police officer made his way down the line, questioning all of the prostitutes. When he got to Grandma, at the end of the line, he was bewildered. "But you’re so old... how do you do it?"

Grandma replied, "Oh, it's quite easy, sonny... I just remove my dentures and suck ‘em dry!"

LOL very bad i know but funny.
