Something That Shouldn't Be

‘Where did that little cunt have the right to call ME pathetic? I’m the most sought after wizard not only in Hogwarts but in England alone. Surely she must get her facts straight,” Draco thought to himself as he watched her move further down the hall. As she turned a corner to probably run to scarhead he whispered to himself, “That woman will be the death of me.”

Hermione turned a corner and saw the compartment Harry and Ron had stationed themselves in. A smile graced her face as she opened the door. “Hermione!!,” Harry exclaimed happily. He ran to her and embraced her in a tight hug. “It’s great to see you Harry! I missed you all summer!” “Where were you Hermione? We looked all over Platform 9¾ and we couldn’t find you,” Ron asked her with a worried look on his face.
“I’m sorry guys. I was reported to head straight to the Heads compartment upon arrival. Dumbledor’s orders. I’m sorry I made you guys worry though. I didn’t mean to.”
“That’s ok Mione, we were able to find each other end. Congrats on getting Head Girl. If anyone deserves it, it’s you. I managed to get prefect even with Snape’s numerous attempts to fail me in potions last year,” Harry stated while chuckling to himself.

“Harry that’s wonderful! Why didn’t you write me with the good news?” Hermione said cheerfully.
“Well, why didn’t you write me with your news of getting Head Girl?” Harry asked playfully.
“I wanted to save the surprise for when I saw you.” Hermione smiled.
“But Hermione, if you were supposed to be there, how come you’re here now?” Ron asked.
“Stupid Malfoy was being a prat as usual so I escaped to find you guys. I’ll have to go back soon, but since now that I know Harry is a prefect, I’ll be protected from his intolerable wrath.”
“I’d be more than happy to accompany you on said task.” Harry said playfully as he puffed out his chest and pretended to look tough.

“Stop being ridiculous Harry. It’s not fair, you and Hermione get to be together the whole train ride and I get to be here all alone, munching on chocolate frogs. Not that the frogs aren’t great, but they’re only entertaining to a point.” Ron whined.
“Don’t worry Ron, I saw Ginny down the hall talking to Neville, they’ll be in shortly I’m sure.” Hermione stated reassuringly.

“Ya Ron and I know Luna was looking for you. You know how much she loves you.” Harry laughed.
“Oh shove off Harry, that woman is insufferable with her constant quotes from the Quibbler and her silly obsessions with strange things.” Ron answered.
“But she’s very amusing to talk to Ron.” Harry said.
“Meh very well. You two have fun. I’ll stay here. Tortured.” Ron said sadly.
Hermione walked up to Ron and gave him a tight hug. “It’s ok Ron. We’ll see you soon. Take care! And remember we’re just a short ways away if you want us. Be strong!”
“Thanks Mione. Take care. If Malfoy tries anything, tell me, and I’ll beat his pasty ass.”
“Hah, ok Ronald. Bye!” And with that Hermione and Harry were out the door heading back into the dragon’s lair so to speak.
