Who Is It
“Now Fi-Fi,” Hermione tutted. “You know that eating the Headmaster’s Robe is a naughty thing.”
“That is quite alright, no harm done really.” Dumbledore said smiling at the rabbit, now resting in his arms. “Just a wave of a wand shall fix it.”
“Allow me, sir.” Hermione said. “Reparo.. all better. Once again, I’ so sorry.”
Dumbledore chuckled as the school looked on, “I suppose it’s a big moment for him. Being up in front of everyone, needed to show them what he’s all about.”
“I guess so, sir.” Hermione blushed. “And thank you for naming me Head Girl. And congratulations to you, too Draco.”
“And returned, Granger.” Draco bowed his head slightly.
“Here you go, Miss Granger. I’m sure Fi-Fi is dying to dig into all the salads on the table.” Dumbledore smiled. “By all means, give him his own plate.. and if you need anyone to talk to, be my guest.”
“Thank you, Sir.” Hermione replied, taking Fi-Fi and walking off to her house table.
She sat down and listened to some of the most boring stories of her lifetime. It was made certain before she even arrived back at school, that Lavender and Pavarti would remain the gossip queens. But, seeing as though if they ever witnessed something they shouldn’t have, Hermione would need to do something about that.
After the feast, she said her goodnights and followed the headmaster, along with Draco, to their new common room. He played it out, the headmaster, as if it were a dramatic change in scenery. But, when she realized the differences, she snorted.
“So, basically in a Gryffindors common room, there would be part Slytherin and vice versa?” she muttered.
“Well, you have to share a bathroom, a common room and a password that is decided between the both of you.” Dumbledore said. “So now, I must say goodnight as there are many things to do. On the desk I left you your yearly duties that must be done. Farwell.”
Hermione put Fi-Fi on the couch and read the list he had left. Simple tasks like, hallway patrol for an hour and student check ups were at the top of the list. She was more concerned about Draco. she didn’t know whether or not if he knew she was living.. was like his godfather’s daughter.
How to find out… she thought, curiously looking at him. he looked straight at her and held her stare for a few minutes. She smiled shortly and approached him, but not without Fi-Fi.
“Do you carry that Rabbit with you everywhere?” he asked, curiously.
“Do you know that I live with Snape?” she asked quickly.
“Yes.” He nodded, sighing.
She put the rabbit back down and he hopped off; Draco eyed the rabbit suspiciously. He half smirked.
“Who is it?” he asked, looking at the rabbit.
Hermione chuckled, “He’s just a magical rabbit. He’s not some random person that I carry around with me.. Like Pansy Parkinson.”
“I don’t carry her around with me.” Draco sniffed.
“You might as well buy a handbag for her to sit in! she’s like a bad smell!” Hermione quipped, handing him the list. “So, when do we start?”
He looked at the list as if he were reading it, she’s living with Snape?
..:***:..
“So what powers does your rabbit have? I mean, does it cast spells and the like?” Draco asked.
Hermione closed the classroom door, “He’s hypnotic. Whatever I say, he distracts the person who I am talking to and as I say it, his eyes hypnotize them to believe every word I say.”
“So why do you insist on carrying him everywhere?” he asked, avoiding the rabbits eyes.
“Because.. just in case, you know.” She shrugged. “And he’s just so adorable!”
Draco shook his head, “So, I have a confession.”
“This early in the relationship? Please tell me you aren’t gay, that would break my heart.” She said sarcastically.
“I didn’t know that you lived with Severus.. I do now, but I didn’t when you told me.” He said, ignoring her comment.
She stopped, “Then why did you say yes?”
He turned his back knowingly, “Because it was just an instant reaction. Why did you ask me?”
She knew he was trying to avoid Fi-Fi’s eyes, “Good form..” she mumbled. “Because I wasn’t sure if you knew. Isn’t that why people ask questions?”
“I guess, they do.” He replied, walking forward down the next corridor.
She looked at Fi-Fi, “He must forget, Fi-Fi. He can’t be trusted.”
..:***:..
As Draco slept soundly in his bed, Hermione crept out after hours of waiting, and let Fi-Fi down at Draco’s bedroom door. Fi-Fi sniffed the door crack and his ears twitched slightly. He seemed to look up at her.
“You know what to do..” she whispered, opening his door enough that Fi-Fi could fit in.
She closed the door behind and let the rabbit weave his magic. She went back into her room, through the bathroom and waited a few minutes before opening his joining door.
She watched as Fi-Fi sat calmly on Draco’s chest, his ears resting on Draco’s temples. Hermione sighed and went back to her room. When Fi-Fi returned, she would close the doors.
Draco snorted in his dream. A clear image of Hermione stood before him holding her damn rabbit.
“Do you carry that Rabbit with you everywhere?” he asked, curiously.
“Do you know that I live with Snape?” she asked quickly.
“Yes.” He nodded, sighing.
Fi-Fi sent blue sparks at Draco. Draco snapped awake form his dream and looked around his room. He panted slightly, looking for any sign of an intruder.
“It wa sonly a dream..” he mumbled, chuckling softly to himself then drifting back to sleep.
On the other side of his bathroom door, Hermione petted Fi-Fi’s head, smirking devilishly. She slipped back into bed, finally going into her own deep sleep, and dreaming of the events to come.
A/N kinda short, I know. Thank you ‘Silverserpent’ and ‘Angel’ for reviewing. And, as you asked for, the next chapter. But please, I feel this story will take a little time to get to the end, so it will be fairly long. R&R!
