broken a mirror; he looked up from the shards gulping.
"Father."
He
watched his son carefully, eyes narrowed, seven years of horrible luck…

his father kneels down beside him, tucking a strand behind his ear.

shivers, nodding, knowing what must be done to stop the bad luck.

wife is still, watching them walk away before gazing at the shards.

stood in the center of his parent's room, shivering harder, being watched.
