Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
WHAT!
Characters belong to the talented J.K. Rowlings and her publishers. I am just borrowing them for a while.
Thank you to all of you who reviewed. I know the bonding story line has been done before but hopefully I can give it my own spin. This is set in Harry’s 7th year and as I live happily in denial land this will for the most part ignore book six.
Harry’s speech –HARRY
Tonks’ speech- Tonks
Chapter 2: WHAT!
Harry came into consciousness slowly. He could tell he was in a bed but what else. What was that heavy feeling across his chest? He slowly peeled his eyes open and felt around for his glasses. He grabbed them off the side table and put them on. Glancing down he saw an arm lying across his chest.
‘Oh someone is in the bed with me,’ he thought. He laid back and closed his eyes. The thought finally penetrated his fuzzy mind. His eyes snapped open.
“What!”
He abruptly rolled to side. Bad move. He went crashing to the floor.
“Mr. Potter,” shrieked Madame Pomfrey. “Are you all right?”
Harry sat up slowly and moaned. ‘Why do I feel like a herd of Hippogriffs ran over me,’ he thought. He glanced up at the bed. ‘Oh right I fell out of bed.’ He gasped as a strong pain ripped through him.
“Mr. Potter, speak to me!”
“Hurts.”
Harry hauled himself up and got back into bed. He reached out towards the other person grabbing the hand reaching for his. While Madame Pomfrey fussed over him his eyes glanced at their joined hands then snapped back up to stare at Tonks face. They stared at each other then turned together to face Madame Pomfrey.
“What is going on,” demanded Harry.
“Why in the name of Merlin are we here and in a bed TOGETHER,” said Tonks.
“I’ll get the Headmaster,’ said Madame Pomfrey as she hurried of to fire-call the Headmaster.
Harry and Tonks glared at the retreating figure and then turned back to each. They looked at their joined hands and abruptly let go. Immediately they felt a tingle. The tingle turned into an ache, the ache quickly turned into a sharp pain.
“What the heck!”
“OUCH!”
They grabbed back onto each other’s hand and the pain subsided.
“This is not good!”
“What is happening to us?”
Just then Professors Dumbledore and Snape entered with Madame Pomfrey.
“What’s going on…why can’t we let go of each other…it hurts…what was that spell that hit us?”
“Now Harry, Nymphadora please calm down and give me a chance to speak,” said Dumbledore.
He conjured some comfortable chairs and sat down beside the bed. The others sat down as well.
“Now Harry, Nymphadora what do you remember?”
“I was practicing the soul binding curse with Professor Snape. I had done it right once and was mid incantation when Tonks came charging in and crashed into me. Then there was a flash of light and that’s all I remember sir.”
“I had just gotten to the house and was looking around to see if anyone was home. I walked into the training room and I tripped. We were hit by a spell and I passed out. I don’t remember anything else. What was that spell?”
“Severus could you tell them what happened?”
“Mr. Potter was in mid incantation for the soul binding curse. The curse traps the soul of target in their body. We hope to use it on the Dark Lord to finally destroy him this time. Tonks came charging in the door without knocking and crashed into Mr. Potter. He finished saying something just as he fell causing the spell to go astray. It hit the mirror and bounced back onto the two of you.”
“What do you mean said something? Did you not hear him?”
“The spell was in parsel-tongue, that why he could not understand me.”
“Do you know what you said Harry,” asked Dumbledore.
“I’m not sure. What happened to us?”
“Some how I’m guessing you must have said me instead of thee causing the spell to change.”
“That is very possible. She startled me. What does that have to do with us needing to touch each other?”
“It seems that the spell was changed slightly,” said Dumbledore. “Instead of binding a soul to its own body it has bound two souls together.”
“What!”
“Oh my god!”
Tonks looked at Harry. ‘My god what have I done?’
“Please sir tell me you can fix this,” pleaded Harry.
“I’m afraid not my boy. You and Miss Tonks are soul bind for life.”
Harry started to shake and mutter no over and over again. Madame Pomfrey ran to the storeroom, grabbed a calming draft and returned quickly.
“Here Mr. Potter take this.”
Harry was hyperventilating at this point so Madame Pomfrey nodded to Snape. He grabbed hold of Harry’s jaw and forced the potion into him. After a few minutes Harry started to calm down. Harry turned pleading eyes to his professors.
“I’m only seventeen. What am I going to do?” He started to sob. Tonks wrapped her arms around him and held him as he cried.
“I’m so sorry Harry. This is all my fault,” said Tonks.
“It was an accident Tonks,” said Harry wearily.
“Why do we need to touch each other? Will it go away,” asked Tonks?
“The need to touch is the bond’s way of forcing its completion,” said Madame Pomfrey.
“What do you mean completion?”
“Well,” said Madame Pomfrey with some hesitation. “The bond needs to be consummated.”
“Con…con…consummated,” stuttered Harry, the colour draining from his face.
“Once the bond is consummated I would guess that after a week or two of frequent intercourse the need for constant touching should go away.”
Harry and Tonks stared at the mediwitch wide-eyed, then at the others. Glancing back at each other their eyes rolled back in their heads and they fainted.
The others looked at the two on the bed.
“Oh dear!”
