Proven Consequences
*
Harry hadn't moved when Draco had exclaimed his name in surprise and shock. Draco stood gaping at the boy who had been his sworn enemy for six years. This couldn't be happening.
"Potter," Draco said again, this time with more disdain. "I should have known only you would do something so juvenile."
Harry didn't reply. He walked slowly around the tables laden with brightly colored flowers and chocolates, coming closer to Draco. Draco's eyes widened as Harry approached him.
He backed away slowly, bumping into one of the small, round tables and knocking over one of the vases. He didn't bother to pick it up, moving steadily backwards. Harry stopped when he reached the table, bending down and scooping the little Carnations back into the vase and setting them back on the table.
He looked up at Draco, who was eyeing him carefully, ready to move again if he did. Harry sighed, and Draco gave him a suspicious look.
"What is this about, Potter?" he asked, gauging Harry.
"It's about a lot of things," Harry said softly, and Draco simply became more confused.
"What things?" he asked, annoyed.
"Did you like the flowers?" Harry asked, ignoring Draco's question.
"The flowers?" Draco repeated disbelievingly. "They were paper. How much can you enjoy about that?"
Harry shrugged, his face deceiving nothing as he looked at Draco. Draco was getting tired of getting no answers. He placed his hands on his hips and glared at Harry.
"Listen, Potter, just tell me what the hell is in your hea--"
"What about the chocolates?" Harry interrupted, and Draco looked taken aback. People didn't interrupt him. He was Draco Malfoy for crying out loud!
"What about them? If you want to impress someone, try giving something they can actually eat."
Harry was silent for a moment, looking thoughtful. Draco's expression was dubious as he watched Harry. He couldn't figure out why he was here with Potter, of all people. This was a definite twist he hadn't seen coming. Pansy and Blaise would be in fits of laughter when he told them. But first, he had to get out of there.
"And you figured out the note?" Harry asked suddenly, drawing Draco out of his thoughts for an escape plan.
"I'm here, aren't I?" he drawled.
"But did you figure it all out?" Harry asked, his expression finally showing some emotion. He was looking at Draco closely, waiting for his answer. Draco gave him an uneasy look.
"What do you mean?" he asked carefully, not liking where this was going.
"The second verse," Harry said quietly, still watching him like a hawk. "Did you understand?"
"Listen, Potter," Draco said, ignoring him. "Either you tell me what you're doing or I'm leaving."
"Did you even try?" Harry asked in a casual voice, but his eyes betrayed him, locked on Draco.
"No, Potter, I didn't, okay? This is getting ridiculous. I'm leaving."
He turned around and made a move to the door, but Harry's voice stopped him.
"Draco, stop."
Draco did stop, stopped suddenly. He rotated slowly where he stood, a very confused and annoyed look on his face.
"What did you call me?" he asked shrewdly.
"Your name," Harry said, shrugging like it was no big deal. Draco paused for a second, closing his eyes, fervently wishing this wasn't happening. When he opened his eyes, he let out a sigh.
"Whatever, Potter, I don't care. I'm getting out of here," he sneered, turning once more to the where the door was.
Harry didn't say anything, standing by the table, a knowing look on his face. Draco turned to where the door should have been, only to find a blank wall. He stared at the stone wall in outrage. He whipped around to glare at Harry, who stood idly by the table.
"What the hell did you do?!" he growled. "Let me out of here, Potter!"
"I didn't do it," Harry said simply. "It was the room."
"What do you mean, 'it was the room'?!" Draco exclaimed. Of all the things he had never wanted to do in his life, being stuck in a room with Harry Potter had been one of them.
"It does that sometimes," Harry said, shrugging. He was absent-mindedly fingering the petals of a red flower. "If it thinks you haven't finished what you needed to, it won't let you leave."
"Well, tell it we're done!" Draco exclaimed. "I want out!"
"It doesn't work that way," Harry said, losing some of his cool. "It won't let us out until we finish."
"Finish what, exactly?" Draco asked, not liking the sound of it. Harry just shrugged and walked away from Draco. He went over to the table that held the boxes of chocolate. He picked one up and broke the seal. He flipped the top back, revealing a layer dark and milk chocolates, all filled with one kind of filling or another.
Harry picked one out and looked at it for a moment before popping it into his mouth. Draco watched him suck on the chocolate reverently, his eyes closed and finishing with a contented sigh. When he finished, he looked over at Draco, who hadn't moved from his place by the wall.
"Want one?" he asked, offering the box to Draco.
"No, thank you," Draco sneered. "I don't need anything that's been tainted by you."
At that, Harry let out a low chuckle, reaching in and selecting another chocolate. He set the box down on a table by the bed and walked back toward Draco, stopping at one of the flower covered tables and placing his hand on it, sighing.
"Listen, Draco," he said, and Draco scowled at the use of his first name once more. "There was a real reason I wanted you to come tonight."
'Ha! I knew it,' Draco thought to himself.
"Was it to show me that you are insanely stupid? Because I already knew that," he drawled. Harry sighed and gave him a withering look.
"No," he replied scathingly. "Didn't you wonder about the paper flowers, the plastic chocolate, the childish note?"
"Of course I did, Potter," Draco replied scathingly. "But that doesn't mean I care."
Harry sighed and took his hand from the table. He reached into the glass vase that stood in the middle of the table in which stood a white rose tipped with pale pink around its edges. It was in full bloom, unlike most of the other roses in the room that were barely blossoming.
He also plucked out a chocolate from a box on the table that was magically open already. He walked toward Draco slowly. Draco eyed him carefully but didn't allow himself to back up, despite wanting to.
He stood straight and proud as Harry approached him, walking casually, the flower in one hand and the chocolate in the other. When he reached Draco, he held out the rose for him. Draco glanced down at it but refused to take it. Harry gave an annoyed sigh and pushed the rose a little more forcefully at Draco, indicating he should take.
Reluctantly, Draco took the rose, wondering what Harry was up to. Harry stood about a foot away from him, his deep, emerald green eyes holding Draco's gaze.
"You see that flower?" Harry whispered. Draco broke the eye contact to look down at the flower he was holding. There were thorns on its stem, but he didn't seem to be able to feel them. The bloom of the flower opened wide and even from its distance away, Draco could smell a faint aroma.
He looked back up at Harry without saying anything. He was still confused about all of this and the closeness of Harry's body was starting to do odd things to his body. His senses were suddenly sharpened. He could hear Harry's breathing, quiet though it was. His breathing was normal, if not perhaps a little more increased than it should have been.
"Isn't it better than paper?" Harry asked, watching Draco closely, his eyes locked on Draco's silver-blue ones.
"I really don--" Draco said but was interrupted by Harry once more.
"And this?" Harry said, holding up the chocolate. Draco eyed it uneasily. He didn't know what Harry was thinking. Harry moved his hand forward to Draco's mouth.
Draco didn't know why, but his body decided to disobey his brain, and he opened his mouth. Harry slipped the piece of chocolate in Draco's mouth, his finger brushing against Draco's lip as he did so.
Draco chewed in silence, hoping to Merlin he hadn't just eaten poisoned chocolate served to him by Harry Potter. The chocolate melted on his tongue slowly, infusing his senses with its sweet taste. Harry was watching him almost intently. He finally swallowed and looked up at Harry, who was smiling slightly.
"Isn't that better than plastic?" he asked quietly.
"What's your point, Potter?" Draco asked, not liking what was happening. He felt as though he had no control here. He could feel his own heartbeat increasing as Harry took a step forward.
No matter how much his brain screamed at him to step back, he didn't obey it. He remained defiantly in place as Harry moved closer, leaning in until their lips were nearly touching. Draco could feel Harry's breath on his lips. It was no longer steady and even. He could tell Harry was trying to keep it so but was unsuccessful. Draco felt his own heart flutter in his chest as Harry looked at him through his darkened green eyes.
"My point," Harry whispered, his warm breath ghosting over Draco's lips. "Is that there's nothing better than the real thing."
He leaned in suddenly, capturing Draco's lips in a soft yet telling kiss. Draco was taken by surprise despite having all warnings before hand. Harry flicked out his tongue, gently tasting Draco's lips and asking for more.
Without thinking, Draco allowed the tongue to slip into his mouth, past his teeth where it was met by his tongue. Harry groaned, the sound sending blood rushing to Draco's member. Draco moaned and allowed Harry to control the kiss, deepening it by thrusting his tongue deeper into Draco's hot mouth.
Draco's eyes were closed as they continued to kiss. Harry slid a hand around Draco's waist and something clicked in the back of his brain. He was kissing Harry Potter!
Draco made a noise of shock, dropped the rose and raised his hands, quickly pushing Harry away, effectively breaking the kiss. He staggered back a few paces, staring at the raven-haired boy, who appeared winded. He was breathing hard as he looked up at Draco.
"What the fuck are you doing, Potter?!" he exclaimed. He glared at Harry, angry at himself for allowing such a thing to occur. This was Harry bloody Potter for Merlin's sake!
Harry just sighed as though he was annoyed. He took a step toward Draco, who immediately moved backward, all pride forgotten.
"Don't you get it yet?" Harry asked, giving him an almost pleading look.
"All I get is that you are deranged," Draco said convincingly. "If this is some plot you and the Mudblood have cooked up to get back at me, just stop right now!"
"You really are stupid," Harry muttered to himself, placing a hand over his eyes and shaking his head. Draco's mouth fell open in outrage.
"I am not!" he exclaimed indignantly.
"Then tell me what's really going on," Harry said challengingly. Draco's eyes flashed with anger and he stalked up to where Harry stood.
"Fine," he growled. "I'll tell you what's really going on. You sent me some stupid gifts this morning to prove your point that I don't pay attention to you. You feel left out because all I do is sneer at you while all you want is for me to fuck you. You can hide all you want behind your friends, Potter, but the only way to get what you want is to take it."
"H-how did you know?" Harry asked, taken completely by surprise.
Draco smirked evilly. "I didn't, but thanks for telling me."
Harry's mouth fell open in shock as he stared at Draco, who just smirked, his silver eyes dancing maliciously. His shock soon turned to anger and he glared at Draco.
"You bastard," he snarled. Draco just gave him an all-knowing smirk.
"I may be, but it gets me what I need to know. So thanks, Potter, for telling me. I'll be sure to let the student body know tomorrow that you have a crush on little ol' me, your worst enemy and all."
Harry was silent for a moment, staring hard at the floor then he looked up at Draco. "You know, Malfoy," he said, sounding thoughtful and resorting back to his surname. "I think you're scared."
"Scared?!" Draco repeated incredulously. "What the fuck do I have to be scared about?"
Harry took a step towards him again, but Draco hardly noticed. He was preoccupied with the thought that Potter thought he was scared. Malfoy's did NOT get scared.
"I think you're afraid of what would happen if you just let go," Harry whispered, an infuriating smile on his face.
"Excuse me?" Draco asked, outraged that he would even dare accuse him of such a thing.
"Just admit it, Malfoy," Harry said simply. "You're scared you might actually like it."
"Please, Potter," Draco scoffed. "I already know what I enjoy."
"But with who?" Harry pushed, raising an eyebrow at him. Draco scowled at his audacity to question himself.
"None of your fucking business, Potter," Draco growled. Harry just shrugged again.
"Fine," he said casually. "I guess I'll just have to tell the rest of the school tomorrow that Draco Malfoy isn't the poof we all thought him to be. The girls will be all over you."
Draco glared at Harry, anger building up inside him at his words. Just the thought of girls hanging off him made his skin crawl. Harry watched him for a second then turned his back on Draco, walking slowly to the other side of the room.
For a moment, all Draco saw was red as the anger bubbled inside him. Then it disappeared and he was left with a clear view of the room; Harry walking away from him. Without really thinking it through, he moved swiftly forward and tackled Harry from behind.
Harry let out a surprised cry as he fell to the ground, Draco's weight pulling him down. He twisted around so that he was on his back and looking up at Draco, who was straddling him on either side of his body, his arms braced against the floor.
"Malfoy, what are you--"
"I am not scared of anything, Potter," Draco said through gritted teeth, interrupting him. "And I'm going to prove it."
