A man or a woman, he could not really tell, led Severus Snape down a dark hallway. The person had the hood of the cloak pulled over his heard so that all the person’s features were obscured held on to his arm to guide him. The only light was the torch the man carried. Severus was unsure of where he was exactly. He was aware he was presently walking down a hallway but the location of the hallway and the building it was in was a mystery. He remembered being in a tavern having a glass of firewiskey and then having the person in red hoist him off the polished marble floor at the other end of the hall. They soon came to a stop in front of a large oak door.
“Mistress is in there.” said the androgynous figure in the red cloak, opening the door. The room was large and lit by two fireplaces. At the other end of the small room sat a desk and at the desk sat a woman. She was smoking a cigarette with a long black holder. He could not see her face well since the smoke obscured most of her face. The man in red pushed him forward until he came to a stop in front of the desk.
“What is this about? Where am I?’ he yelled.
“”In time,” came the woman’s voice. She waved a hand to clear the smoke then stood up from the desk where Severus could see her. She was tall dressed all in black. She wore what could be called a corset decorated with sliver but the fabric went all the way up to her neck exposing no skin, the corset also had long sleeves that as she had her hands to her sides covered her hands. He had noticed before her nails were long and painted black, she also wore fingerless gloves. She wore pants that came up to the top of the knee high pointed boots she wore. The only thing that wasn’t black or sliver was her face, she had on a white mask that covered her eyes and nose and the rest of her face had been painted the same color save her lips, they had been painted blood red.
“Severus Snape, recipient of the Order of Merlin, First Class, Teacher of Potions at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, Death Eater, Member of the Order of The Phoenix, and an accomplished Occlumens and Legilimens. Anything I’ve forgotten?” She smiled.
“Quiet one, aren’t you? Would you like a drink?” she held out her hand and with a pop a glass of amber colored liquid appeared in her hand. Severus was too stunned to say anything.
“No?” she asked and moved to drop the glass which disappeared with another pop before it hit the ground.
“Why am I here?”
“Well that’s what we all want to know really. Why we are here? What is our purpose on this planet? Is there a god?” she let out a short laugh. “No, in all honesty I want you; I need you and that is why you’re here.” He raised an eyebrow at this. “Oh not that way, well…maybe but that’s not the point. You see my servants and been bringing in new recruits but they are, to put it bluntly, utter shite. You possess certain qualities that I desire.” She paused and lit another cigarette “In return for you’re loyalty I can give you anything your heart desires, women, money, power, whatever you wish.”
“You have to be joking.”
“Oh not at all Severus.” She took a puff. “You want proof? Fine then tell me anything you want, anything well it can’t be an idea or and emotion, I need something material.’ He didn’t say anything. “Oh come on now.” She said coolly and strode up to him. “I know you want to wish for something.” They were face to face; she ran a finger down the length of his chin. I assure you my promises are not hollow I assure you, all I need is your loyalty.” She was so close he could feel her breath on his lips. “You don’t trust me is that it? Well I’m not going to give you anything until you give me something in return and you will not give me your word until I prove myself. It seems we have ourselves a catch-22 then.” She moved back to sit in her chair. “Don’t you have anything to say?”
“Who are you?
“It’s always with you isn’t it. But I can’t tell you that, not until you give me your word.”
“I’ll do no suck thing.”
“Fine. Louis!” she called the man in the cloak returned with a pop.
“Mistress?”
“Return Mr. Snape to where you found him.” The man call Louis bowed then grabbed his arm and lead him back through the doors.
“What are you going to do now?” a figure cloaked in black asked her
“Don’t you think I’d know he’d do that.” The figure remained silent. ”I have a plan, don’t worry.”
“Wasn’t it dangerous to bring him here?”
“No all he’ll remember come morning is that he was drinking at a pub. Are the preparations for tomorrow all in order?“ she ask lighting a cigarette in its holder.
“Of course Madame.”
“If this fails it’ll be you ass Malfoy”
“I know Madame.”
“Good.”
