Chapter 2

Disclaimer: These characters are not mine! I wish I could have Lucius and Severus though...

Esmerelda: Yes I can guarantee that there will be LOTS of Luscious, er? I mean Lucius in this one.

Pinkwands: Don't worry this will be a chaptered story, and as I said above, a lot of Luscious, and... well... if you're not familiar with Rebecca then you're in for a real treat...

Chapter Two

We got married in Monte Carlo and had the honeymoon in Italy. Lucius was fond of Venice, and the canals. It was the constant presence of the water that calmed him, like I previously mentioned water was his element. We were serenaded and we had a great time. I never thought of Lucius as a romantic. He seemed to dark and logical to allow for such fancies in his life, but then I supposed he thought I’d like it. To be perfectly honest with you I couldn’t care less about romance, as long as the man told me I was pretty once in a while, I would not worry for such things like flowers and chocolate. I’d rather a man pay me a nice compliment. Although I am not saying that flowers and chocolate are unwelcome, I am a woman after all, but I am not worried about such things.

In my short life I have been through so many things that I can honestly say that by the time I was fifteen I realised there were more important things, you could say I realised that when I watched Harry walk into some black fire ready to face Lord Voldemort. Lucius though does seem to be worried about that sort of thing, and he is a most attentive husband, in all areas.

Our honeymoon night was something that I was dreading. In Wizarding Society all over the world you only become officially married when you consummate the marriage. It shows how old fashioned the society is. In the Muggle World you’re married when you sign the bit of paper. The consummation was slightly awkward for me, as I had only had a few lovers in my time, Ron Weasley was my first, and then there was a one-night stand with Viktor. Oh and once with, believe it or not, with Snape! Although strangely I did not regret that night with Snape.

So three times with three separate men, it doesn’t make me the most experienced of lovers. I wonder if he knew of my previous lovers.

“So Hermione,” he said when we got into our honeymoon suite. “What shall we do now?”

His eyes were sparkling and I was scared, I knew what he was doing, he was flirting. I blushed and kept silent. I didn’t want to show him how inexperienced I was. He walked up to me and picked me up.

“Where are you taking me?” I asked quietly.

“Where do you think Hermione?” He whispered in his silky voice.

“Oh,” I replied.

He carried me through to the bed; it was decorated with cream coloured bed sheets, all lace and silk. I thought he would snarl at the feminity of it all.

“Not bad,” he murmured. “Understated, I like it. What about you my dear?”
“It’s not over the top is it?” I asked. I never really had an opinion on décor. As long as it weren’t red or gold that is all that matters.

He gently laid me on the bed. He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

“Please do me a small favour and return your hair to the way it was before. I preferred it all wild and carefree.”

I laughed humourlessly.

“Hmm I seem to remember it looking like a birds nest.”

He laughed at that.

“I happen to like birds nests,” he replied.

So different to the man I first met. He placed his lips on mine and picked my head up, I joined in the kiss and let his tongue control mine for the time being. He broke the kiss and looked deeply into my eyes.

“Now,” I said, as I realised what the look meant.

He nodded. I looked down nervously and chewed on my lip. I lifted my hands to his tunic and felt his body underneath that. It was well toned, and strong, gods this man was my husband. I went to unfasten his cloak but he had already done that. I went to the lace ups at the back of his tunic and tugged at the ends undoing it. He took it off his body when I had loosened it. And then there was his shirt, white, lacy, and open at the top. It revealed what my fingers had guessed at. A very powerful body indeed, I gulped and felt my blood temperature rise as I tentatively touched his body with my fingers. He closed his eyes obviously enjoying the tenderness. I let my fingers travel to the remaining buttons left to be undone. I made surprisingly quick work. He then took the shirt off. His body was fabulous. His chest had light silvery blonde hair all over it, covering his torso and abdomen.

He then started on me. I was not wearing anything too pretentious. A plain white dress robe with some well placed accoutrements. He raised my arms over my head and then lifted the hem of the robe and drew it over my head. His eyes widened at the sight of my almost naked body. He drew down my knickers, and then unclasped my bra. Nothing was said as we undressed each other.

“Nervous?” He asked as he saw my nervous gaze flicker to his manhood.

“Yes, well,” I gulped. “I have only had three before, and they were all one night stands.”

He didn’t question who with which was a blessing. I would have hated to have said to him that I slept with Snape after a drunken party. The odd thing was neither of us were drunk; it was just a way to escape the party. If that makes any sense.

“Ah, well, I am the lucky one then?” He asked merrily. I smiled shyly.

He leaned down gently and whispered in my ear.

“Don’t worry dear I won’t hurt you.”

I immediately relaxed. His hands were gentle in their explorations of my body. As was his mouth. His tongue was warm and sweet on my exposed skin and he covered my body with his entirely. He kissed my breasts first of all. That was nice, so nice I moaned and he did it again. He then kissed down to my stomach and then my legs. I think he was trying to get to know all of me in one night. Once he planted light kisses all over my body he then covered my mouth with his and we kissed properly. I was by now completely at his mercy.

I spread my legs apart and I felt his manhood probe my womanhood. It was now or never. He slid it in gently, much the way he had been treating me, he thrust with the same amount of tenderness and love almost. I watched his face through out this and I saw his eyes glaze over, I was so distracted by that, that I didn’t notice what he was doing to me until he slammed into me, it was fierce, harsh, and not at all like he promised. But at least it awoke some passion. I think that’s what he wanted as the slam elicited a cry from me.

I held onto him for dear life as he continued in his harsh thrusting. It sent me over the edge, a feeling I had never felt drowned my senses and I eventually screamed out his name.

“Hermione,” he murmured.

He rolled off me. He sighed.

“Well?” I asked.

“You’re going to have to be a bit more responsive my dear,” he advised. “But I didn’t mind. And if I hurt you I am sorry.”

“It did the right thing,” I said.

*^*^*^*

The rest of the honeymoon went smoothly, and Lucius taught me how to be a proper lover. After about two weeks our lovemaking was second to none. And I could honestly say that I also enjoyed his other aspects, in short dear reader I truly fallen for him. I was in love with him.

Our honeymoon ended when we had to come back to England.

“We’re going to spend the first few months in my mansion in Cornwall, it belonged to my grandmother, and I inherited it.”

“But your Wiltshire one?” I asked.

“Yes, that is the seat if you like,” he replied. “But I have a few others too.”

I worried my nails even more with this statement. Just how many Mansions will I have to be a Mistress of?

We had to apparate into the Ministry of Magic in London to state that we had returned. We did not expect such a reception. Everyone congratulated us. All the Weasley family were there as well as Harry, with Ginny as his wife.

“It’s great to see you Hermione,” Harry said as he drew me into a big hug. I was shaking.

“Yes this is all very nice but I need to get to Manderley,” Lucius said as he took my hand.

“At least we have plenty of witnesses to our arrival,” I said quietly.

He smiled. I then took his hand. We signed some papers to make it an official arrival and then we apparated straight to Manderley.

“Sorry to keep you away from the usual things Hermione, I know you probably wanted to go to Madam Malkins and get some nice, new robes but I am rather anxious to be home. There’s just so much to do.”

He was about to open the gates when a familiar figure wearing the same black billowing robes he always wore approached us. He came down to open the gates for us.

“Mr and Mrs Malfoy so glad you have returned, congratulations are in order I hear?”

“Severus,” Lucius said shaking his hand. “You already know Hermione don’t you?”

“Indeed,” his lip curled. I soon found out that was Severus way of smiling. He offered his hand to mine and I shook it.

Lucius drew me in his arm in a protective gesture.

“So how have things been old boy?” Lucius asked.

“Oh the same,” Severus replied. “Except HER house elf is still causing trouble.”

A cloud passed across Lucius’ eyes.
“Something that might have to be dealt with,” he muttered.

“Oh and er,” Severus said. He was looking awkward.

“Out with it man,” Lucius snapped. Already he had become the man I first met. I stiffened under his touch.

“Your ex Sister in law is here as well as her husband,” Severus mumbled.

Lucius rounded on his friend.

“Who the bloody hell invited them?” He bellowed. “I ordered there to be NO guests. I specifically stated that Mrs Malfoy and I would be tired and in no mood to have visitors. I ordered that Manderley was to be quiet.”

Severus flushed.

“I know but they came as soon as they heard you were back in England,” he mumbled.

Lucius sighed.

“It’s all right dear,” I said squeezing his arm reassuringly. “We may as well get it over with.”

Lucius jaw was set; he drew his cloak about him.

“Very well,” he said. “Severus could you escort my wife. I’ll run on ahead.”

Severus nodded. Lucius ran on ahead and I watched with fascination at my husband’s speed and agility. Not that he doesn’t have that in bed – but it was wonderful the way he moved.

Severus offered me his arm and I took it.

“I wondered if he’d ever find you,” he said.

“What?” I asked.

“We were all worried,” Severus said. “You seemed to disappear without a trace.”

“I wanted to forget certain things,” I replied. This startled Severus. “Severus do you think that – well – do you think that I would make a good Mistress and Wife for him?”

“He seemed to have some strength returned to him since he met you,” Severus replied. “You’ll manage.”

We walked on up the seemingly eternal snake like path, I felt claustrophobic, I was squeezed between two huge flanks of rhododendrons, red in colour, and either side of me. They overpowered me.

We got to the front door immediately. I heard Lucius give out a raucous laugh; another male’s laugh, and then a female’s shortly followed it.

“Who is it?” I asked.

“Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange,” Severus answered.

Those two were the biggest surprise though. Bellatrix turned to our side just before the war got seriously underway. Her reasons were unclear then but I suppose over the past few years I’ve been hiding away people have begun to understand them. I would have to grin and bear it.

I looked up at Severus and then I heard a door open.

“Ah! There she is!” Bellatrix boomed out. I was immediately swept up into a fierce embrace. She then kissed me once on both cheeks.

“Hello Mrs Lestrange,” I said.

“Tosh!” she scoffed. “You must call me Bea if nothing else.”

I smiled weakly and looked at her.

“How are you?”

“Better than can be expected under the circumstances.”

“What circumstances?” I asked.

Then she was shoved aside by Lucius who again took me into a tight protective one-armed hug about the waist.

“You look fatigued my dear here let me show you to the sitting room,” he said. He steered me towards the room that they were just in.

“This is Rodolphus,” Bellatrix said as she followed us. “My husband.”

“Hello,” I said.

He nodded his head towards my direction.

“Do you ride Hermione?” Bellatrix asked.

“No,” I said blushing. “I prefer to keep my feet on the ground!”

“I love riding,” she stated. “I was riding right up until Brutus was born.”
“Brutus?” I asked.

“My son he was a squib though,” she replied.

I decided not to enquire further; her eyes flickered painfully at the mention of her son.

“So what do you do then?” Rodolphus asked.

“I read books I love reading books,” I replied.

“Very solitary,” Rodolphus grunted.

“Oh don’t be such a bore,” Bellatrix said laughing loudly. I was beginning to feel a little overwhelmed.

Lucius noticed that I was starting to look jaded.

“Look could you two come again some other time, and this time make an appointment.”

“Always blunt aren’t you Lucy,” Bellatrix replied. Lucy? I noticed he ignored the nickname, although I rather think that he was expecting it.

“Well come on then,” Rodolphus said helping his wife up from the sofa.

“Goodbye my dear,” Bellatrix said as she kissed me on the cheek again. “See you some other time.”

“I can’t wait,” I replied trying to sound cheerful. Although I just wanted to go to bed.

“And Severus smiling won’t break your face,” Bellatrix laughed. They both took a pinch of floo powder and disappeared through the fireplace.

“I think I will retire to,” Severus said. He too took a pinch of floo powder and disappeared through the fireplace.

“Ah well I am sorry about that,” Lucius said. “I did specify peace and quiet.”

“I don’t mind,” I replied. “Rather now than later at least it’s over and done with.”

He smiled.

“Come on then lets see our bedrooms and then I think you could do with a nap before you eat dinner.”

We walked up the stairs to the East Wing and opened the door.

“Ah good I am glad they followed my instructions to the letter,” he replied.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“I changed the side of the Master bedrooms,” he replied. “The view out of this window I believed to suit your tastes more.”

I looked out of the window; there was a pretty view of the lawns and gardens. They were well manicured, and beautifully preened. I loved the colours of the flowers and the serenity of it all.

“It’s lovely,” I replied.

I then looked around the bedchambers; they were an exact replica of the hotel room we stayed in.

“Do you approve?” He asked.

I nodded.

“Can I gets you anything Mrs Malfoy?” a strange voice said from behind. It startled me.

I spun around on my heel and looked down on a house elf that wore a black dress. She was rather thin, and her eyes were sunken into her brow. She looked almost like a walking skeleton.

“No, thank you, I am fine,” I replied.

“Are you sure Mrs Malfoy?” The house elf asked.

“You heard the lady Danvers,” Lucius said. “She is fine.”

“It’s just that the previous Mrs Malfoy always had a cup of tea at this time of day.”

“No, thank you, I am quite all right,” I replied.

“Very well Mrs Malfoy,” the house elf bowed stiffly and disappeared.

“Danvers,” Lucius replied. “She was Narcissa’s elf they were very attached, so much so, as you can see Narcissa freed her but she stayed. Danvers loved Narcissa – I suppose it’ll take her some getting used to that you are now here.”

“Oh dear I really am going to cause so much trouble,” I said as I sank down on my bed.

“Oh don’t worry about Danvers,” Lucius said. “She’s just still mourning, she’ll come round.”
“I hope so,” I replied.

“I trust Danvers, she’s the one that’s kept this Mansion running without a Master although I am sure Severus has gladly filled that role for me in my absence.”

“I got the feeling Danvers didn’t like me,” I observed.

“Oh, once you’ve settled in she’ll realise you are just as likeable as yourself.”

“You think?”

“Yes, now take your shoes off and go to sleep you look as if you need it.”

I did just that.

It weren’t a comfortable sleep. I kept dreaming of the raging sea, and a woman, whose back was turned drowning in a boat. She was trying to set the rigging right. Long straight blonde hair flowing in the wind. I heard the thunder howl; I almost felt the spray of the sea on my face. And I heard a voice…. ‘The previous Mrs Malfoy always had a cup of tea at this time of the day!’

I had taken over another woman’s shoes. I woke up with sweat on my brow.

I felt as if I was being watched. Watched by her….

A/N Thank you so much for the quick reviews the two of you... I would love more feedback though.
