The year of the Tri-wizard tournament he saw her at the Yule ball, there was the one woman who couldn’t possibly make him look twice dressed to kill. Draco stared at Victor Krum and for the first time he felt pure unadulterated hate at the man touching what was to be his. This shocked Draco, when had the mudblood become his? Stunned at himself he ran from the room, leaving a confused Pansy staring after him shock.

Never a quidditch fan she found herself thinking that his seeker uniform made him look even more handsome. The first time he caught her perving, Draco had then proceeded to strut in front of Hermione, making her fall over laughing. The hurt in his eyes had told her just how much he liked her.

Finally Hermione Had enough of the mind games, she took things into her own hands. Waiting for Draco to return from a meeting which she knew was with the headmaster, Dressed in just her robes which she had changed into Slytherin colours. The battle was coming and there was no chance in Hades that she was going to go into it not telling Draco how she felt.

Th night passed in a blur for both as they made love into the early hours of morning finally falling asleep in each others arms. Neither heard Ron as he came into common room looking for his friend as she never came to breakfast. It was this fast asleep they were that they missed him tripping over his feet as he ran from the room his face redder then it had ever been. The also missed his run in with his own lover who had come to see the heads of the school.

People were dying all around, Hermione had lost Ginny and Harry as she ran to where Luna had been killed. Lucius Malfoy stood over the still body of her friend. He sneered at her, “Ahh Potters pet mudblood, but that’s not all you are is it?” It was then that Hermione knew he knew of Draco, “You are my son’s whore as well, never mind after today he will forget all about you.” The blonde Death eater raised his wand baring his lips in a sneer as he said those fateful words, then Draco was there! Hermione stared in shock as he killed his father, Casting a slicing hex on his throat. Then his arms were around her holding her close. Neither saw the elder Malfoy as with is last breath he muttered the finish to his spell. Hermione stared at the shock in Draco’s eyes, then all went black.

Everyday I sit here waiting

And now I\'ve had enough of all the hating
Do we even care, it\'s so unfair

Draco heard the words, seen the green light engulf his love, she was gone! The only person who had ever fought for him, the one who truly believed in the good in him. Turning to finish the job on his father he was greeted by the dead stare of the eyes he had once feared. Hearing a commotion to his right Draco placed a spell around Hermione, protecting her from any wayward spells. No one would mark his love even in death she would stay as beautiful as she was just minutes before. Draco could see Harry fighting Voldemort he saw Ginny jump in front then this attention was taken to where Ron was fighting with a dark haired death eater who was holding not only a dear friend of Draco’s but Ron’s lover as well. The battle was nearly over yet there was so much more to deal with.

Almost giving up on trying
Almost heading for a fall
And now my mind is screaming out
