ch.1 Dumbledore's Office
Chapter 1: Dumbledore’s Office
This Summer had been disastrous. Hundreds of students dead. The wizarding world in chaos. Harry Potter missing. Dumbledore sat t his desk in silence. His head bowed to the point that his long nose almost touched the desk. He was waiting for a sign. He knew he would not be able to let the students come back to school next week. The war was still going on and people were dying every day. He had met with the minister of magic earlier in the day and had decided that he would formally announce the closing of Hogwarts the following day. The staff still had to be informed. Dinner tonight would be the best time.
With a popping sound a small house-elf appeared in his office looking excited. “Professor Dumbledore, sir. I is bringing you this package, sir.”
“Thank you Winky, and may I just say that it is good to see you up again after all this time!”
“Winky is having a master now sir. Winky is a respectable elf now sir.”
“And who is your new master Winky?”
“Why Mister Harry Potter is my new master sir. He is sending you an urgent package sir. I must be back to him. He says he will see you on September 1st sir.” and with a pop, she was gone.
Dumbledor ripped open the package and saw a small silver box and a piece of parchment. Knowing that the box was a pensieve containing an important memory he set it aside carefully and smoothed out the parchment.
Professor Dumbledore,
I am writing to inform you that Lord Voldemort is no more.
I have finished him. In the forbidden forest, in Aragog’s lair you will
find his corpse and no less than fifteen bound and stunned death-eaters.
I am fine and am no longer in any danger. I am on my way to round up
as many other death-eaters as I can find before the start of term. I will
show them mercy only if they come quietly. I have sent along the pensieve
containing my memory of Voldemort death. This is to ensure that I am
not pestered for accounts of the story. I will be at platform 9 ¾ on the 1st
of September.
Best wishes,
Harry J. Potter
Striding briskly into the office, Minerva McGonagall, started shouting. “Professor Dumbledore, why have you been avoiding me? I have as much right as anyone to know what’s going on!”
“WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!” Dumbledor shouted jumping up and clicking his heels together. He ran around his desk and kissed a very shocked Minerva.
