Deadly Obsession

Chapter Two

Inside the Great Hall Draco searched the crowds for the new girl.He finally found her while everyone was being seated.She was escorting younger kids to the Gryffindor table.His spirits dropped slightly,he'd really been hoping she was in Slytherin.He was just about to go and talk to her when he saw Harry Potter and Ron Weasley walk up to her.She turned around and Malfoy imediately recognized her as Hermoine Granger,the Mudblood he'd always mocked,friend of the enemy.

He thought he would be more shocked and disgusted with himself,but he wasn't.Her hated to admit it,but he still thought she was attractive.He felt weird about the dream he'd had of her.He'd always hated her and her friends.He decided he would forget about it.It was Hermione,no way he was gonna' go after her.She's a bloody Mudblood afterall.He had to admit,he was disapointed.He really felt like something could've happened between them,but of course that was just impossible now.

The next few weeks turned out to be pretty hectic.Talk of Hermione's new look spread fast and guys were starting to see her in a new light.

Draco was sitting in Transfiguration one day when Professor McGonagall told him she'd need to see him after class.So,after class when everyone but Hermione who was still trying to gather her many books had left Malfoy went up to McGonagall's desk.

"What is it,Professor?"He asked her as politely as he could.She'd never really liked him,and he her.

"Mr.Malfoy,I'm afraid I have some bad news.You are not doing too well in my class anymore,"She paused to let this sink in.

"Yeah,I realized that.I'll try harder,I guess."He told her,not wanting to be kicked out of the class which his father was forcing him to stay in.

"That will not do.I have set up a tutor for you.You will be meeting every Monday and Wednesday after classes so it will not interfere with Quidditch."Draco raised an eyebrow at her.

"A tutor?I don't need a tutor.I'm a Malfoy,I just wasn't trying hard enough,that's all.I will not be tutored."He told her stubbornly.

"You will do as I say.Ms.Granger will be tutoring you from now on.I have already discussed it with her.Do not argue or I will put you in dentention."She said firmly.Draco rolled his eyes at her.

"And what if I refuse?"He asked stubbornly which made McGonagall's mouth go thin as he glared at her.

"If you refuse,Mr.Malfoy,I will be forced to take you out of my class.You wouldn't want that now would you?"She said.Draco didn't answer but rolled his eyes again and walked away without another word.

Hermione ran into the common room.She had to find Harry and Ron and tell them what McGonagall was making her do.She found them both in a corner talking about how unfair Snape was about them today.They looked up as Hermione approached them.

"You'll never guess what Professor McGonagall is making me do!"She exclaimed sitting down with them.Before they had a chance to say anything she told them."She's making me tutor Malfoy!Can you believe it?Why me?She knows he hates me!"

"Maybe 'cause you're the best in our year at everything?"Harry suggested which only made her more angry.

"But he's a vile little cockroach!"She said.

"Why don't you just tell her you won't do it then?"Ron asked.

"Don't you think I've tried?She won't let me back out!She said she'll give me extra credit,not like I need it,but still.This is ridiculus!"She threw her arms up in frustration.

"See,this is exactly why I don't study.All it gets you is rubbish like this."Ron said and Hermione smacked him in the head."Ow!"

"Oh,come on.I didn't hit you that hard!"She got up and began to walk away.

"Hey!Where you goin'?"Harry asked her.

"I'm going to put a lesson plan together.Tomorrow's Wednesday and I'm tutoring him Wednesdays and Mondays."And with that she walked away.
