Chapter 2, Things Like That Happen To Us

Recap: Just then both boys slid down on their knees. The girls gasped for breath.
“Will you marry me?” they said at the same time.

Ginny was the first to say yes. I just gazed adoringly at Ron. Could I? Did I really want to? For now, yes. That’s what I would say.

“Yes, Ronald.” I gasped. I looked over at Ginny and Harry. They were hugging and kissing already. I looked back to Ron. I gave him the biggest kiss I could possibly give.

“Wait,” I rendered, “Ginny and I have to tell you two something.” Ginny looked at me. Taking over she said, “You guys, well, you gave us wonderful, if I can say, gifts. Well, Harry,” she glanced over at her fiancée, and continued, “Here’s you’re gift. I am pregnant.”

Ron looked at if he’d been a drunk all his life. Harry couldn’t have a goofier face than the one he had on now. He ran up to Ginny and gave her a great big hug. Then he kissed her tummy. Ron looked a me. “You’re not pregnant, too, are you?” I chuckled. “Of course not, Ronald. I would tell you. Although, now that were are engaged, I supposed we could try.” His face went from drunk to almost completely relived and astounded at the same time. He looked at Ginny.

“Congratulations, guys. We should go tell our parents about all the good news.” He choked. I could tell he wasn’t happy about his sister’s pregnancy. “Ron,” I said, looking carefully at him as Ginny and Harry left the room, “I love you. I know that you’re not happy about Ginny, but you had to have seen it coming. I mean, I know I wasn’t the only one who heard them.” I looked at him smugly. He seemed grim.

Downstairs, it was a fight of giggles and laughter. Although most of the Weasley’s were not happy about the fact that Ginny wasn’t, well, pure, it was nice to know that her and Harry were finally fully together and with child. They were even happier about Ron and I. Apparently they were waiting this day, just like the day when we finally admitted our feelings to each other. I kissed Ron lightly on the cheek.

The next day, I took Ginny to Diagon Ally for school supplies and baby supplies. She was already two months pregnant. We arrived at the Leaky Caldron, and walked inside. I bought Ginny her books, no matter how much she protested. Apparently, she thought she could but almost anything now that she had Harry’s wealth. We walked over to the local coffee shop afterwards.

“Owww!” I whined as someone heavy fell on top of me.

“Well, Miss. Granger. Or should I say Mrs. Weasel-by?” A cold, menacing voice sprawled into my face. I felt a shove on my arm and I heard Ginny gasp. I was pulled up into a kiss and shoved backwards. By the time I recovered, I only saw the back of my attacker turning into an alleyway, his long, black cloak flowing behind him. Ginny’s arm helped me up. She looked at me, her emotions flooded with fear. I looked at her, astounded. “W-w-what?” I stammered.

When we got back home, Ginny and I headed into the library. “Do you have any idea who that was?” she exhaled. No, I thought, but Weasel-by was Malfoy’s word. That couldn’t have been Malfoy, though; he wasn’t that thick that he wouldn’t be in hiding right now. After all, he was the one who technically killed Dumbledore. {Or at least was supposed to.}

“It was, Hermione Jane Granger. It most certainly was Draco Malfoy, Prince of Slytherin.” Ginny spoke, echoing my thoughts. “Changed the color of his hair, but his eyes are unmistakable. Just remember, you are the Princess of Gryffindor, a far better feat than being the Prince of Slytherin.” Ginny finished, sounding far too old for my liking.
“I just don’t know. Why did he kiss me? Especially when he knew who it was? Ginny, why isn’t he in hiding?”
