Summary: Ginny and Hermione discuss their love lives over lunch at a nice muggle restaurant.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

“Hermione! I can’t believe you did that!” Ginny exclaimed after almost snorting her good wine as Hermione described her fun with Lucius the night before.

Hermione blushed and played with her salad, pretending that she really hadn’t done a thing.

“I mean, first you shock us all by dating Lucius. Then you almost give mum a heart attack by moving in with him. Imagine what she’d say if she found out you two were shagging like bunnies in the kitchen of all places!”

Hermione choked on a piece of lettuce and then cracked up laughing.

“Well she isn’t going to find out now is she? Honestly Ginny, what do you and Remus do? Play Scrabble? Riiight and I’m the Queen of France reincarnated.”

Ginny giggled, “Well, yes we do play Scrabble, but it usually ends up dirty and you could be the reincarnated Queen of France...”

Hermione shook her head and allowed the waiter to take away her plate and replace it with her main course. Ginny’s eyes went wide when she saw how large her main course was.

“Shit. Its huge ‘Mione. I mean, they must have given me half a lamb right here!”

With a chuckle Hermione shook her head and started eating her food. Duck al’Orange had to be the best thing she’d ever tasted, well only when Lucius cooked it. She didn’t even know he could cook until he surprised her with dinner one night two years ago, the night he asked her to move in.

“HELLO!?! Earth to Hermione!” Ginny giggled as she watched her friend reminisce about the food in front of her. “Are you going to ignore me or help me with my problem with Remus?”

“Sorry Ginny, just thinking about Lucius.”

“You always are. Silly girl. So anyway, I really have no clue how to tell Remus that I want to be with him forever. I mean, he gets all nervous when I start talking about the future. He always uses his Lycanthropy as an excuse as to why we can’t move in together or settle down proper. Do you know how frustrating it is when he practically lives in my flat anyway?”

“It took Lucius three years to ask me to move in with him.”

“Yeah, about that. You also snuck around for the first year of that relationship. Besides he had to have the proper mourning period for Narcissa. Remus just won’t talk about it. He’ll change the subject or start kissing me and we both know where that leads.”

“Ginny, do you want me to talk to Remus? I can do that or you can force him to listen to you. Better yet, you could stop taking your birth control potion. Although I’m sure your mother would murder me for giving you the idea and you for taking it and running with it. Talk to Remus about children maybe? He’s scared of hurting you Ginny. He loves you that’s obvious.”

Ginny smiled and finished up her lamb, even though she wasn’t sure how she had done it. Hermione had long since finished her duck and was waiting patiently to see the desert tray. When it finally arrived she was struck at the choices. Chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate cake with chocolate mousse. Cherry pie, apple pie, Mint Chocolate Creme cake. Chocolate cherry cake. With a smile she pointed to the chocolate cherry cake. Ginny went with the cherry pie.

“You should talk to Remus, ‘Mione. It might help the situation more then I think right now. I just want to be with him. Surely you want to marry Lucius.”

Hermione stopped eating her cake and looked at Ginny, “Of course I want to marry Lucius. Its just not something I’m ever expecting to happen. I’m happy enough just living with him and hearing him say he loves me.”

“That is the world’s biggest load of shit Hermione. You wouldn’t dare settle for second best. You want to marry him and you know it. You want to have his babies and piss Ferret boy off. That mansion is too big for just the two of you. I know you too well ‘Mione. You want little ones, you always have. Cute little babies running around and Lucius treating them like royalty. I’ve seen it in your eyes Hermione.”

Tears were streaming down Hermione’s face as she hurriedly finished her cake.

“Shit, ‘Mione. I love you like a sister. Don’t cry, I don’t want to hurt you,” Ginny felt ashamed.

“It’s not your fault, Ginny. I tell myself I don’t want those things because I doubt Lucius does. I’ve had a dream of marrying him for two years. I need to be happy just living with him, Ginny. He couldn’t possibly want more children, he’s got Draco,” she said wiping the tears from her eyes.

“Well, how about I talk to Lucius and you talk to Remus. We’ll get everything straightened out for each other, ok?”

Hermione just smiled, “Good luck talking to my darling Lucius.”

Ginny grinned, “Oh I don’t think I’ll need too much of it. Have fun talking to Remus, I’ll owl you later.”

Hermione paid the bill and the two parted to talk to each others lovers.
