Prologue

Harry Potter strolled quickly down the halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, ignoring everyone, heading with some trepidation to the Headmasters office.
Harry was fairly certain he knew why he had been summoned to Dumbledore's office and was hoping to avoid a confrontation. It was just weeks before Christmas break,
and 16 year old Harry, had opted not to stay at Hogwarts. The note he had sent to the Headmaster when Albus had inquired as to why Harry had not put his name down to stay, simply stated that he wished to spend the break with a new "friend." Approaching the gargoyle that guarded Dumbledore's tower office, Harry whispered the password,

"Chocolate Salty Balls."

The gargoyle jumped to the side and Harry ascended into the Headmasters domain, knocking on the heavy oak door, he heard,

"Enter, Harry!" in Dumbledore's cheerful voice. As Harry entered, he noticed that he was not the only one invited to this little conference, Sirius and Remus both sat in front of Dumbledore's desk watching him, he smiled slightly at them in greeting and sat down. Harry declined offers of tea and lemon drops, and decided to jump in with both feet, in true Gryffindor style.

"Headmaster, am I here because I've elected to not stay at Hogwarts over Christmas?" Harry asked quietly.

"Yes, my boy. You are quite correct," Dumbledore said sighing, "It wouldn't be so much trouble if you would only tell us where you are planning on going."

"I've told you," Harry said, "I wish to spend time with a new friend, what difference does it make who it is. I'll be perfectly safe in his manor."

"Harry, how can you say it doesn't make any difference? Voldemort is still after you!" Remus cried, Sirius nodded in agreement, saying "How do we know your friend can be trusted?"

"I trust him," Harry snapped outraged, "He's on our side, he's helping me come up with ways to kill Voldemort! He-" Harry stopped abruptly, realizing he may have said to much, there were only two new people actively helping him find a way to destroy the Dark Lord.

"Are you saying your new 'friend' is Draco Malfoy, or his father, Harry?" Dumbledore asked, quietly, "I was under the impression that you and Draco were still feuding to some extent, and Lucius has only been teaching the Owl level DADA classes since the start of term."

"The Malfoy's Harry!! Honestly, Lucius may be a spy, but he's still an arse hole," Sirius yelled.

"Sirius, watch your language!" Remus hissed, turning to Harry he said, "Perhaps you should explain Harry."

"Look, the headmaster is right about me still fighting with Draco, but I get on with Luc- I mean Prof. Malfoy very well, we've talked on a number of occasions, he's very nice!" Harry snapped, glaring at Sirius, and hoping he didn't give anything away. Dumbledore raised an eyebrow at Harry's near slip, and said, "Perhaps we should invite Professor Malfoy to this discussion."

Before Harry could protest, Dumbledore walked to his fire and threw in a handful of floo powder, "Lucius, I wonder if you could come to my office for a moment?" He stepped away from the fireplace as a swiftly spinning Malfoy appeared in the green flame.

"What can I do for you, headmaster?" Lucius Malfoy asked in his smooth, cultured, baritone.

"It would appear that Harry has been invited to stay at Malfoy manor over the holidays, why is that?" Sirius demanded.

Lucius looked at Harry briefly, noting his unhappy countenance, and realizing he must have let something slip, , "Harry is staying at the manor to familiarize himself with it's layout, and to begin learning how a wizarding home is run. He will also have to get to know his future step son, Draco."

Shocked silence greeted the Malfoy patriarchs statement, and Harry thought fleetingly that someone had finally managed to shock Dumbledore. The three other men in the room came out of their shock at the same time, shouting questions, and in Sirius' case cursing and being restrained by his husband, (mMoony is his husband by the way)" What have you done to my godson, you Slytherin bastard?" he shouted.

"Luc hasn't done anything to me!!" Harry shouted back, “Well, at least nothing I didn't beg him for!"

Lucius grabbed Harry's shoulder and pulled him against his body, back to front, to hiss in his ear, “Your not helping keep me alive, Harry" Harry looked over his shoulder and smiled impishly, saying, "I did promise to always save the day, didn't I? Don't worry, I'll protect you."

"Quiet!" everyone stopped talking, and turned to Dumbledore, "Everyone will please sit down and we will discuss this rationally," looking at Harry and Lucius and the familiar way the held each other he said," I believe the two of you need to explain yourselves."

"Lucius and I are soul mates, we are going to be bonded as soon as possible!" Harry said, at once.

Sirius looked like he was going to explode, "Over my dead body!!" he bellowed.

Harry looked at his godfather with tears in his eyes, "Actually," Lucius said, "That is how we discovered we were soul mates. The spell Harry cast to bring you back from behind the veil, required power borrowed from his soul mate. Miss Granger brewed a potion that would tell them who Harry's soul mate was, and that brought him to me. I agreed to help him cast the spell, if we could start anew, and he agreed, we've been seeing each other since before the start of term."

"You are truly soul mates? that is a rare gift," Dumbledore said, with a touch of envy, "Very few wizards are powerful enough these days to draw a soul mate."

"Sirius, Remus, I know you don't approve, that's why I didn't tell you. I wanted to keep my godfathers for as long as possible," Harry whispered, crying softly. He turned to bury his face against his mates chest as his shoulders began to shake. Lucius rubbed his back soothingly, glaring angrily at the men that professed to love Harry the most.

"Harry, what do you mean, keep us for as long as possible?" Remus asked. Harry took a deep breath and turned back to them, "Lucius makes me happy, I love him, and I won't chose anyone over him, so if you can't except it, I will never see you again!!" Bursting into tears, Harry bolted for the door and disappeared down the stairs.

A/N: that was just a little back up info. The first chapter will take place after all the bad feelings are taken care of. I know I should probably write it in, I'm just to lazy, and it'll turn out sappy. Just know that everyone including Draco and Ron, except it and move on. Also any pointers anyone could give me would be very helpful!! Thanks a lot for reading this!
