Chapter 2: Permissions

Ok, guys the coordination is beginning. Don’t Snape will be coming into play very soon. I just have to set the stage. Trust me you see what I have planned.

Chapter 2:

Next Day:

“You want to do what,” exclaims Professor McGonagall as she looks at the four students in front of her in disbelief. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny had marched into her office first thing. Poor Professor McGonagall she has started to resemble Dumbledore by aging at least twenty years over her brief time as headmaster.

Harry states again, “We want to look through Professor Dumbledore’s things for clues to why he might have trusted Snape and where Voldermort may have hidden the other Horcruxes. Also, we need to know who R.A.B is. Too many unanswered questions and we don’t have the time to be timid. In fact I think it would be a good idea for Remus, Tonks, and Hermione to search Snape’s quarters, too. That includes both Dumbledore’s and Snape’s Gringott’s vaults as well. No telling what is in there besides gold.”

For the first time ever, Minvera McGonagall looks intently at the young man in front of her. She chooses her next words very carefully as she begins, “I can give you access to Professor Dumbledore’s rooms here at then castle. His Gringott’s vault is another story. His brother Aberforth will be the one to give us permission to enter the vault. I will make the request. Protocol must be maintained during this time of mourning. As for Severus Snape’s quarters, it has been quarantined by the Ministry and has been under guard since his “departure”. I believe Ms. Tonks could escort Mr. Lupin and Ms Granger while they examine its contents. By the way Mr. Snape’s Gringott’s vault has been confiscated. I will contact the Minister on both matters. Is there anything else?”

“Yes,” pipes up Hermione, “We need Mr. Snape’s school records, all of them. Also, we may need to interview all of his professors and Madame Pomfrey.”

“Dare may I ask why?,” demanded the new Headmistress.

“We need to know as much about Severus Snape and his connect to Dumbledore and Hogwarts as possible. Also, I know for a fact Snape had been working on particular charms and dueling techniques since his time at Hogwarts that could be used for Voldermort’s cause. The one mistake that Dumbledore made was not making him the Defense the Dark Arts teacher there is no telling what he could have taught us in six years,” seethed Harry.

“How did you come about this information?” pursued Professor McGonagall, “Harry, what have been keeping from us.”

“Remember when I entered Potions at the last minute and Professor Slughorn lent me a Potions’ book?” starts Harry

“Yes, I remember,” the Headmistress tutes impatiently.

“Well Professor Slughorn lent me a book that he found in an closet in Snapes’ former classroom. This Potions’ book had very “helpful” notes in the margins. Information about Potions that “Mr.” Snape had often given us class, but most people ignored. Because of the notes, I did really well in Potions. Professor Slughorn thought it because I was like my mother. I guess just let him think it was all my own work, …I don’t know I wanted to have some connection to her. I mean everyone talks about James and no one mentions her. They never speak about her in any way other than general terms. But Slughorn, he actually gives me specific information like she was suppose to be in Slytherin. Anyway back to the book, in the book there were charms, like the levitation charm “Levicorpus” and some others I tried. Well the book stated it was the property of the “Half-Blood Prince”. When Snape was fleeing Hogarts he told me he was the “Half-Blood Prince”. He realized that I had possession of the book,” finished Harry.

Ron nudges Harry and whispers, “ Tell her about Draco Malfoy in Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom.”

“Oh right, I think Draco Malfoy may have been acting under duress when he tried to kill Dumbledore.”

“That is quite a assertion,” murmurs the Headmistress as readjusts her seat.

“I found him in Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom crying that he didn’t want to do something, but he was afraid someone would kill him if he didn’t. You should have seen him in front of Dumbledore, he was terrified.”

“You have convinced me, Harry,” she breathed through teeth as she drummed her fingers on the desk. “You are right this is no time to be timid.”

“Ms. Granger, I think you should coordinate the research effort. I want you to assign everyone a task and make sure they do it. I have no doubt you will be successful at this as you are at your studies. I will have all of the necessary permissions by the end of today so if I were all of you I would use my time wisely,” smiled the Headmistress.
