The Halls
[ Chapter Two ]
The rest of Saturday slide into the past as Harry and Kaya slipped out of the Gryffindor Common Room to avoid another run in with Yami or Hermione. They slide through the halls, quietly. It was around seven in the evening, lunch and dinner had ended.
“Where exactly are we going, Harry?” Kaya questioned. “Surely we’re not heading to the library? Yami and Hermione will probably still be there?” Harry didn’t answer right away, his face obviously showing that he was thinking. Hard.
“Yes. We’re going to the library.” He answered after a few minutes.
“What do you have in mind?”
Harry smirked softly, stopping right before the library doors. He placed his hand on the door to keep Kaya from opening it before he was ready, his face going from pained, to serious all of a sudden. Kaya stopped, she stared at him.
“Kaya, I know we just met and all… but I want to ask you something very, very important.” Harry whispered softly. Kaya blinked and gave a clueless stare, her voice suddenly lost in the moment. She nodded, to tell him she was listening. Attentively.
“Kaya, Hermione will probably be inside there with Yami. Could you please pretend to be my girlfriend to make Hermione jealous? I mean, what I’m planning is to go inside the library and find them, and erm… kiss in front of them.” Harry’s face flushed very pink as Kaya stared at him. Her blank stare went into a smile.
“A very weird request, but as a friend, I will do it.” Kaya answered, her voice slowly becoming more confident. “Maybe we should… uh… practice? To make it look believable and all. As in, I’ve never actually kissed a guy.”
Harry smiled softly, and he slowly caught eyes with her. She looked down for a moment, then looked up towards Harry. “But this is really weird.” she whispered softly, returning her gaze towards the floor, becoming fascinated with her shoes. Harry frowned, tilting her head up so she would look at him. Before he could stop himself, his lips were upon her own, and his hands fell to her waist. They moved away from the door.
Kaya aligned perfectly with Harry’s body, his shoulders level with her head. She wrapped her arms around his neck loosely and tilted her head to the left, nibbling gently on his lower lip.
And then the door opened.
A small gasp came from one person Harry didn’t want to see kissing another girl at the moment. Hermione had just exited the library. Yami was right behind her. Hermione chocolate brown eyes were the size of a night owls.
At the same moment Hermione walked out of the library, Harry was sliding his hands around Kaya’s lower torso. He had stopped when she gasped. Hermione’s shocked face fell as she stepped forward bravely.
“Harry James Potter you two timing bastard!” Hermione shouted loudly. Yami backed up and out of the way. Harry released Kaya who stepped backwards into the pole by the side of the hallway. “I can’t believe you’d go off and KISS another girl!” Hermione cried again, tears brimming in her eyes.
Harry stared open-mouthed at Hermione. Kaya’s eyes fell on the floor. “Maybe I should go…” she whispered quietly. Hermione’s piercing stare bolted to Kaya who was nervously messing with her nails.
“No, you stay here!” the ever angry Hermione snapped, stepping forward. “I knew something was up with you and Harry! I just knew it!” Hermione walked up to Kaya, clenched her fist and forced all her anger into her arm and punched Kaya in the face. She stumbled backwards and toppled over onto the stone floor.
“You stupid bitch! You know you can’t mess with other girl’s boyfriends!” Hermione cried. Hermione took advantage of her weakened point and kicked her in her stomach.
Harry pulled Hermione away from Kaya before she killed her. Hermione struggled against him, but fell limp in Harry’s arms. “How could you do this to me?” she whimpered quietly, clinging to the fabric of Harry’s shirt.
Kaya nervously sat herself up, propping her tiny upper torso up with one arm while holding her stomach. Beads of blood fell from her cheek. Hermione had a ring on. “You broke up with Harry, Hermione. You have no claim to him anymore. If you broke up with him to see what would happen, then you’re-” Kaya coughed, and puke a little on the floor. “You’re crazy.”
“Shut up you whore! You don’t have a say in this!” Hermione cried, pushing Harry away from her. “Come on, Yami. Let’s go.” Hermione and Yami stalked around the corner and out of sight. Harry turned around and collapsed beside Kaya.
“Kaya? Are you alright?” He asked, feeling stupid. He saw the giant gash on her face. He touched her cheek, wiping a small blood streak away from her soft skin. She shuddered under his touch, and tried to stand up. Harry helped her along the way.
“I’m fine, really. It’s just a little cut.” Kaya explain, using her sleeve to wipe away the blood that was forming outside of her wound. “That was the most interesting experience of my life, she still likes you, Harry. You do know this, right?”
Harry stopped and stared ahead for a moment, collecting what she just said. “I know, but should I go out with her again?”
Kaya walked up behind him, laying her hand on his shoulder comfortingly and leaned up towards his ear “Do what your heart tells you, Harry. What have you got to lose?”
“But what about you?”
“What about me?”
“I mean, we kissed and all. Doesn’t that mean anything? That we should grow closer, and I should move on from Hermione. Does it mean that we go well together or what?”
“Don’t let me stand in the way of your happiness, Harry. If you want her, then you go for her. But if you want me, then so be it.” Kaya answered, letting her hand fall from his shoulder.
Harry smiled, and pulled out his wand from his waist pocket and gave it a quick wave and the cut on her cheek magically disappeared. She touched her cheek where the gasp had once remained, and smiled while whispering a word of thanks to him.
They continued up the stairs. “What do you want me to do?” Harry asked after a while, and turning into another corridor. “You see to have the right idea on this.”
“Even I don’t know, because I don’t know your feelings. You can tell me, if you want. But in the end the choice is still yours. No one can make it for you.” She answered, staring straight ahead. “But I sort of, kind of, had a crush on you for these last few months.” She blushed.
Harry was silent again. He turned the idea of redating Hermione, and dating Kaya over and over in his mind. He still loved Hermione, but feelings for Kaya were starting their own blazing ring of fire in his heart.
And suddenly, out of nowhere, Kaya was gone.
A/N : A little shorter chapter that normal, I wanted to get it up because I was being threatened. Just kidding, but yes your wish has been granted; I have posted chapter two. Quite a plot twist coming up in the next chapter, so review so I can get motivated to actually write it. Hehe, SignedAngel.
