The New Address
Disclaimer: I don’t own any of these characters, I’m just using them for my own enjoyment.
Chapter 2 The new Address
“Y-yes of course I remember Remus”. Tonks stammered, she couldn’t remember him being this handsome. His golden brown, gray streaked hair, and his eyes….oh his eyes.
“It’s nice to see you again Nymphadora.” Remus gave her a slight smile that made Tonks heart beat a little faster.
“Yes, it’s been a while.” Tonks was at a loss for words. She hadn’t even noticed that she did not mind him calling her Nymphadora at all. It sounded so nice rolling off his tongue.
“Let’s have a seat in the sitting room and wait for the others to arrive” suggested Sirius. He led Tonks and Remus into the sitting room, where they occupied the large couch waiting for the others to arrive.
Tonks, Remus, and Sirius chatted amongst themselves until the sound of ‘popping’ and the loud blaze of flame from the fire place, indicated that members of the order were arriving. Dumbledore was the last to arrive, and he began the meeting. The meeting was basically about the new army that Voldemort was assembling, and how the Order needed to take extra care in looking out for Harry. It was only the beginning of the summer after Harry’s 4th year. Dumbledore stated he would be sending two order members every night to watch over Harry’s current living arrangements at the Dursley’s.
With a few more updates about the current position of Voldemort and his army, Dumbledore ended the meeting. He requested to see Sirius, Remus, and Tonks in private in the kitchen directly after.
“Nymphadora”. Dumbledore began, once the four of them were in the kitchen. Tonks cringed at the use of her first name. “I would like you to stay here for the summer, we may need some immediate back up or protection with Harry and the overwhelming rise of power Voldemort is beginning to show. After Harry returns to Hogwarts, you may return to your home in London. It will only be Sirius, Remus, and yourself occupying this house.” Dumbledore finished with a serious expression on your face.
“Of course I’ll stay here”. Tonks responded a little too quickly.
“I do realize your job with the ministry will take up most of your time during the day, but we will have Remus and Sirius here to keep you informed of anything that might come up.” Dumbledore finished.
Sirius and Remus nodded in agreement. Tonks couldn’t help but feel a bit uncomfortable. After the meeting she had had with Remus, not an hour ago, she wasn’t sure if she could possibly make it this summer without doing something completely ridiculous.
“Well, I’ll leave you to the care of your ‘long lost cousin’, Sirius, I trust you to show her where she will be staying”. Dumbledore finished. He walked out of the kitchen to engage in a conversation with a few members of the order.
“I guess you’ll be staying here then. It will give us a chance to catch up.” Sirius said after Dumbledore had left the room.
Tonks smiled at this. “Yes, but do remember dear cousin, I am now old enough , and trained to kick your arse, if you feel the need to pull any of those old pranks you once did when I was a kid.!”
Remus and Sirius both laughed at this.
“What are you laughing at”? Tonks tried desperately to keep a straight face. “Don’t think just because there are two of you that I couldn’t take both of you down”. This encouraged another round of laughter from the two men.
“ Come on Tonks, we’ll show you where your room is.” Sirius dragged her upstairs.
