Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
A Real Muggle Christmas
I own nothing. It all belongs to the wonderful J.K. Rowling. This is my first attempt at writing a fan fic. I have been reading them for a while and thought I would try my hand at one. Be kind but please review. Thank you and enjoy.
4/28/05: I am updating, but only fixing some errors. Thank you to my wonderful beta. I should be adding a new chapter soon, but keep reading and reviewing.

Chapter 2
A Real Muggle Christmas
The whole train ride Hermione sat quietly, listening to Ron, Harry, Luna, Ginny, and Neville talk about Quidditch, plans for the holidays, and argue over the existence of the Crumpled-Horned Snorkack.
“There is no way that…that stupid thing exists,” yelled Ron, his face was slowly turning the same color as his hair.
“Just because you have never seen one does not mean that they do not exist.” replied Luna in her dreamy voice. She picked up a copy of the Quibbler, lazily turning the pages as if she could care less that a big red-headed man was yelling at her. Ron over the years had grown into his tall lanky frame. He was still as tall, but had acquired some muscle from playing Keeper for Gryffindor. His hair was still flame red, but it suited him for the shade matched his personality.
Hermione looked around the compartment, they had all changed over the years and all become better friends. Harry was very handsome, drawing a great deal of attention from the females of Hogwarts. Hermione found this was great fun to point out, as Harry still did not like to be the center of attention, however he was getting better at tolerating it.
Ginny had grown into a beautiful young woman. Her hair was not as bright as Ron’s, it was more of an auburn shade now. She had developed some curves, to all of her brother’s displeasure. Ginny had her fair share of boys come in and out of her life. Currently she was seeing Neville, and as it were, she was sitting in his lap at this very moment. Ron kept sending evil looks Neville’s way.
Neville too had changed. Since the faithful night at the Ministry of Magic in fifth year, he had more confidence in himself. His magic had improved as well, starting when he was forced to get a new wand that suited him instead of his father’s old one. Professor Snape still scared him however. Luckily for Neville he had opted for a field in Herbology, meaning Potions wasn’t required anymore.
“Hermione, Hermione. OIY! Hermione, you in there?” Ron questioned.
“What?” responded Hermione as she came out of her thoughts.
“I said the train is getting ready to stop. Are you ready to get off?”
“Wow, we’re there already.” Hermione stated in amazement.
“Just about, Hermione,” answered Harry “you parents are meeting us at the train station right?”
“Oh yeah. They should be of the other side of the barrier when we get there.” said Hermione.
As the train stopped the group gathered up their things and got ready to get off. Luna got off first; she said her goodbyes to everyone over her shoulder before walking through the barrier.
Hermione gave Neville and Ron a hug. “You guys have a good break and I will see you when we all get back to school.” She walked over to Ginny who was saying good-bye to Harry. “Gin have a great time, make sure to send my love to your family.”
“Oh I will, Mum and Dad will miss seeing you,” Ginny stated. “Alright boys, I think it is our turn to go through.”
The three figures disappeared through wall and entered the muggle world on the other side.
“Ready for a real Muggle Christmas Harry?” Hermione asked.
“Yes I am, I think I am due one.” Harry said as the two stepped through the barrier to the other side.
“HERMIONE THERE YOU ARE” screamed her mother as she raced over to the two students who had just appeared.
“I forgot to tell you, my mum is a bit a screamer and a very overzealous hugger. She is worse than Mrs. Weasley.” Hermione whispered. “Mum it’s good to see you too.”
Hermione’s mother gave her a big bear hug that almost crushed her. The man who strolled up behind her was much more subdued.
“You must be Harry.” the man said, “I am Hermione’s father, John Granger”
“It’s nice to meet you Mr. Granger. Thank you for inviting me to stay over break.”
“We are glad to have you Harry. Hermione speaks very highly of you,” answered Mrs. Granger, who had finally let Hermione go.
Hermione rubbing her ribs walks over to her father “Hi Dad, how are you?”
“Good Sweet pea, glad you are home. Now let’s get out of here and on the way home we can stop and get our tree.”
The four figures walked out of King’s Cross Station and headed for the car. To any onlookers they looked like a happy little family; something Harry had always wanted to feel like. He was going to finally have a real Muggle Christmas and he could not wait.
