\"Hold on a sec Padfoot\" Remus said. Sirius just continued walking; looking dejected and upset at having to return to that miserable shack. \"Hi there\" Remus waved to Tonks, who looked up, then fell over a chair and landed on her stomach. \"Oh, here\" Remus helped her stand, noticing how nice her body was. \"Hi, I\'ve heard a lot of things about you Remus.\" Tonks continued, as if running into objects were an ordinary event for her. \"Depends on what you\'ve heard.\" Remus replied sarcastically. His relationships had never amounted to anything, and he wanted, just once, to date a woman for more than 28 days. Tonks appeared hyper. \"Oh, just you\'re a really smart guy, and you know a lot about defensive magic and such.\" Remus smiled. \"Where do you work?\" \"I\'m an Auror for the Ministry of Magic, only been at it for a year though\" She replied. \"That\'s wonderful, we need as many Aurors in the Order as we can get.\" \"Did you know Kingsley was also one?\" She asked as they walked down the road. They talked as they walked to Tonks apartment. Remus learned she was a metamorpmagus, which she demonstrated by changing her hair blue and her nose crooked. He enjoyed the first real conversation he\'d had with a woman in over seven years, yet he still had a gnawing at the back of his head. All too soon they reached her apartment. \"I\'m going to stay with Sirius, if you\'d like to come over and have breakfast\" He asked. \"Sounds swell, be sure to keep Sirius amused, he appears to hate that place.\" With that said and a quick hug they parted ways.
\"Took you long enough\" Sirius said dryly as Remus came inside. \"Jealous?\" He teased. \"Whatever possessed you to walk her home?\" Remus looked at his friend. \"She\'s a nice girl, I\'m a nice guy, get over it.\" Sirius snorted. \"From what I\'ve heard she\'s clumsy, messy, and hyperactive.\" Remus sighed, \"I need a little energy in my life.\" Sirius laughed, \"You need a good shag, that\'s all.\" Remus chuckled as he headed to his room. A shag wasn\'t all he needed, deep down he was lonely. Nearly all his life he felt outcast, even among his closest friends. What he longed for was a companion, someone to understand him. He just wanted a person to turn to when things got bad. He felt as if he had found that person, tonight in Tonks. Sighing, he lay on his bed, thinking about her.
The next day he went out and bought a bouquet of flowers with his last galleaon and had them shipped to Auror Headquarters. That night Tonks took him out to a small muggle restaurant that played jazz. Everything felt right, from the lively conversation to his hands on her hips as they danced. Walking with her back home, Remus felt a clench in his stomach. It was still three weeks before full moon, but it scared him to think she may leave him after she found out. She looked at him sweetly from brown eyes, and he felt his insides churn. It had been so long since he kissed a woman. Shyly he smiled, and she leaned in, surprising him by kissing first. It was warm with a hint of coffee. Slowly he wrapped his arms around her and enjoyed the kiss. \"Come back tomorrow\" She asked. \"You know I will.\" He replied.
