Ginny slept peacefully next to me, her wild, red curls framing her face and falling in her eyes. We had apparated, much to Ginny’s chagrin, to King\'s Cross Station. Walking through the familiar wall of Platform 9 ¾, my mind wandered. It felt like a lifetime had passed since the day I walked off the Hogwarts Express at the end of my 7th year. A mere 6 years, yet I felt so old.
The train ride was smooth, as usual; the familiarity of my surroundings was disconcerting. Even the woman with the sweets cart was the same. She smiled as she ducked her head into our compartment.
\"Nothing for ye\' Harry?\" her pudgy face grinning.
\"Not this morning, thank you. Though I could use a glass of water...\" I pushed back a piece of unruly hair.
She nodded, filling up a glass with her wand and passing it to me. She smiled again, and wandered down the hallway.
We would be meeting up with the rest of the Weasleys and Hermione in Hogsmeade, then head up to the school. Dean, Seamus, and Neville would meet us there, along with many other old friends.
The reunion itself was to be for Ginny’s year to the twins’ year. Dumbledore seemed to think having a reunion of sorts during the summer would be a good way to get everyone together again. Many of us hadn’t spoken since the events that took place during my 7th year. 6 years, and I’d had scare contact with most of schoolmates.
I couldn\'t wait to see Hagrid and Dumbledore, or to stop by the Three Brooksticks for a pint of butterbeer. It\'d been far too long.
I glanced over at Ginny again. Her eyelids fluttered in her sleep, and her hand reached out weakly to grab ahold of something. She managed to get a fistful of my robes, and sighing heavily, she leaned against me. Her face seemed oddly flushed.
\"Gin...Gin...?\" I shook her gently.
\"Mmmph...ugh...\" her eyes opened groggily.
\"We\'re almost there.\"
\"Ugh. I don\'t feel so well...\" she trailed off.
\"I figured as much, you seem feverish or something.\" I pulled my wand out of my pocket and cast a simple freezing spell on my glass of water. I pulled out a couple of the newly formed ice cubes and wrapped them in my hankerchief. I placed it gently against the back of her neck.
Her body shuddered slightly at the sudden shock, slowly though she eased into it and leaned back. I pulled her curls aside, sweeping them over one shoulder, and rubbed her shoulders softly.
She smelled so good. I caught myself staring at the small formation of freckles on the back of her neck, in the shape of Cassiopeoia. It\'d been so long since I\'d kissed them, at the top of the Astronomy tower at Hogwarts...it had been a week before 7th year ended.
Yes, everything seemed like a lifetime ago.
