Chapter II: The Faked Death

Chapter II: The Faked Death

28/04/1988
Lucius parted alone to London. He hated being surrounded by muggles, and all he wished was to find someone he could take back to the Manor so he would be able to leave such a horrible place.

The streets were really not that crowded, but to someone like Lucius Malfoy, it was torture. He had a portkey in his pocket, ready to transport the first kid he saw. He walked into an empty ally to get away from all those bloody muggles and their polluting vehicles. He waited anxiously, peering around a corner, until he saw a boy who seemed to be about eight, walking all alone.

‘Hey, kid… could you tell me what time is it?’, Lucius asked, trying to look as friendly as he could.

The boy looked down at his left wrist and before he knew it, he had been hit by a whispered Desmaius! Lucius grabbed the boy before he hit the ground and took out the portkey, which took them both to Malfoy Manor.

Lucius took the boy down to the dungeons and, after waking him up and locking him in a cell, he left him alone to go check up on the Polyjuice Potion Narcissa had been brewing. She was stirring the potion nervously when he went in.

‘Finally! It’s all ready, I even added Hera’s hair to it. Here’, she said filling a vial with some of the Polyjuice.

‘Do you want to come with me?’, he asked halfway through the door.

‘No. I don’t want to see him… or her… who ever you brought’, she said as she filled three more vials and corked them.

Lucius went down to the dungeons again and as he approached the bars behind which the kid was, he heard the boy’s desperate crying for help.

‘Shut up!’, Lucius demanded. He took his wand from his pocket and aimed it at him. ‘Imperio!’

He could see how the kids muscles relaxed and he smiled blankly.

‘Come here and drink this’, Lucius ordered giving the boy the potion.

He obeyed calmly and moments later, he dropped the empty vial, which smashed against the stone floor. Lucius witnessed as the boy begun shrinking and his features turned into his daughters’. Without hesitation he lifted his wand once more to steal his life away with a green flash of light. The kid trapped in Hera’s body fell to the floor, completely drained by the Unforgivable Curse.

Lucius opened the cell and took the dead body to the master bedroom, asking Dilly, their house elf, to call Mr. Parkinson immediately on the way.

Draco took the real Hera to the dungeons, just like his father had ordered him too. The last thing they needed right now was for her to be seen well and alive around the house when she was supposedly dead in the bedroom.

The fellow Death Eater arrived few minutes later with a loud crack.

‘Lucius, what happened? Your house elf told me you were having an emergency!’

‘It’s Hera… she died’, the blonde lied. ‘She was asleep and just… never woke up.’

‘I’m so sorry, Lucius. How are Draco and Narcissa?’

‘Devastated, of course… look, I was wondering if you could help us arrange a quick, intimate funeral for her. We have the space in the Malfoy pantheon, but we don’t have a coffin’

‘Sure. What ever you need… I think I can get it all ready in half hour.’

‘Thank you so much… you have no idea how much this means to us all. The sooner we can burry her, the better.’

In less than twenty minutes he was back with a small coffin, large enough for Hera but not even close to where an eight year old kid would fit. Lucius tried to push the image of the dead boy recovering his form when the time was up out of his mind, and the three Malfoys and Quentin Parquinson took the small, full coffin to the pantheon.

No one could ever know what really happened that day. No one could know that the real Hera Malfoy was locked in the dungeons of Malfoy Manor for being a squib. No one could know about the kidnap and murder of Oliver Plant, a muggle kid who was neither orphan nor homeless and whose family would never see again.
