News and New Friends

News and New Friends

Dreama sits in her room furiously writing trying to send letters to her cousins and friends, not knowing how long it would take for them to be received.
Dear Danie~
I hope this letter finds you well. In two weeks time is the Quidditch Championship World Cup. Two of my friends from school as well as Ron the Twins and Ginny are coming to stay with me for a week then we are going to the world cup. I would love for you to join us. So please come. You can stay with me for a week before the game and then the rest of the summer after that if you wish. Let me know as soon as you can if you are coming so I know weather I need to give your ticket to someone else or not. Talk to you soon.
Dreama

She folds the letter and ties it to her owl then sends him off to her friend. She was stuck in her house because her parents were away on their eighth honeymoon traveling the world. Her parents don’t find much time together so every so often they make an excuse of another honeymoon to have alone time free of work and stress. Dreama came to find after her parents 3rd escape from reality that mansions while having great size, empty of family, seem all the more lonely. So, seeing nothing better to do with her time she decides to set up the rooms to accommodate her guests.

Danie sits in her room looking at pictures from her old school. She hears a noise and sees an owl coming at her. This is not just any owl, but a Great Black that is one among a race of only three others since muggle hunters so often killed them. The owl comes to her window and Danie takes the letter from him handing him a treat while he waits patiently for her to reply. Hmm..So I take it you need me to reply right away? Alright gimme a sec to read it. Her smile grows while reading the letter not believing that Dreama is actually inviting her along to the Quidditch World Cup an unbelievable opportunity seeing as how she is a seeker and would never be able to go to something like this since they are tremendously expensive. She just met Dreama last year at Hogwarts. They became good friends quite rapidly, but she didn’t ever imagine she would invite her to stay with her for the summer. They didn’t know each other that long seeing as how Danie didn’t transfer from America until close to the end of term. Dreama was one of those few girls who were nice and rich. She was actually quit popular despite the fact that she was in Slitherian and her parents like the Malfoy’s hated muggles and muggle born witches and wizards. Dreama always said she didn’t care about those things, but in the back of her mind Danie was not completely convinced. This invitation proved Dreama to be telling the truth in Danie’s mind though. Running down to her parents, muggles that were sitting in the living room reading the best sellers list of books. Her mother was a librarian who was still looking for a job since her fathers work as a reporter for a muggle newspaper that was branching off into different countries brought them to England. Danie saw them glance at her speculatively. “Hey Sweetheart” says her mother’s sweet but suspicious voice almost as if she knows Danie is up to asking something they might be edgy about letting her do. Danie’s mom is just like every other mom she is sweet and very protective of her only daughter. She is tall and brainy with short brown hair and big olive eyes along with her sun kissed skin. Her father is the epitome of the tall dark and handsome executive, but is a loud cheerful man who has something to say about everything. Yet Danie ended up looking nothing like either of them, but of her own ethereal beauty. She was short though she detested the meager height of 5’2 with short red curly locks, skin of soft glowing ivory and eyes that looked like a stormy ocean. Her family always told her she looked like some kind of earth goddess, but she with no confidence chopped it up to every family thinks their child is beautiful. Mom, this girl from school Dreama wants me to go to the Quidditch Championship Game with her and stay for the summer. Can I go with her Please? Danie said very quickly and gave her best shot at puppy dog teary eyes and a pout trying to award her what she wants. Gaining a knowing look from her mother, one of those please do not give me that look you know I can not say no to it! Her dad rubs his chin “I am not to sure honey, you really should be studying since you haven’t done much so far this summer….You said you had some really hard test to take called the N.E.W.T.’s didn’t you?” “No Dad, that’s not till next year!!! This year we get to have time to relax a little after our O.W.L.’s cried Danie. Her dad broke in with “Well honey, if you say it’s okay then I don’t think it is much of a problem to let her go…she seems to really want to. Plus, she needs to make more friends I didn’t like that lot she was hanging around with back home! Troublesome bunch they were! It would do her good to get closer to the girls she met when we got here.” “Okay Darling, you can go just make sure you write to us at least once a week, you know how we worry so about you!” Her mother finally caved wanting to see her daughter happy even though she truly wished to be able to spend more time with her. At lest with muggle schools she would be home after classes and they would get to see her much more. Her daughter had some gifts that took her away from home her mother thought angrily. She was happy of course that her daughter was special. She always knew she was, just sad she couldn’t see her daughter like her sister got to see her kids. Danie was ecstatic that she would be going to the Quidditch World Cup and seeing her newfound friend along with some other people she would get to meet. She went straight up stairs to pack what little clothing she had along with the things she would need for school since her parents were going to let her stay the rest of the summer as long as she let them see her off at Kings Cross.
